EPISODE 1
The sound of tires screeching against asphalt echoed through the empty streets. In the distance, the headlights of black SUVs grew larger.
Kyrah Fox
(voice strained, over the comms) How much further, Zane ?
Zane Fox
Another minute, stay sharp
Kyrah gripped her seat, her instincts screaming. Zane’s focus never wavered, the chase nothing more than a blur in his calm eyes.
Rhea Ward
(icy tone) If they’re not careful, they’re gonna regret chasing us
Jace Cross
(clearly enjoying the tension) I wouldn’t count on it, Rhea. If it was up to you, we’d be sending them postcards from the afterlife
Zane’s calm eyes met Rhea's, unbothered. The world outside was chaotic, but inside the car, there was a strange kind of peace.
Vaelyn Kincade
Everyone just breathe. I’m sure Zane knows what he’s doing (calm smile)
Kyrah Fox
We’re not going to lose them, are we ?
Zane Fox
We will. Just trust me
The engines roared behind them. But in one swift turn, Zane sent the car into a slide, and the sound of the chase faded.
Rhea Ward
(smirking) Keep this up, Zane, and you might actually earn a smile from me
Jace Cross
Let’s be honest, guys. Rhea doesn’t give smiles, she gives death stares
A few more sharp turns, and the sounds of the chase started to fade. The cars following them finally lost ground. With a screech, they skidded into the mansion’s parking lot.

(exhaling deeply) Did we make it ?
Zane Fox
(satisfied) For now
The team stepped out, still on edge, eyes scanning the night. They were safe—for now.
Vaelyn Kincade
Alright, team ! You know the drill — get inside, lock down, and pretend like you didn’t just go through a life-or-death situation. We can’t have our neighbors knowing our business
Vaelyn said playfully as he stretched.
Ivy Voss
We’ll be fine, boss
Jace Cross
(grinning mischievously) Well, I’m starving. Who’s up for a victory meal?
As they entered the mansion, the chase felt like it had already become a memory. But deep down, they all knew this was only the beginning. If anyone thought the night was over, they were wrong. Their enemies would regroup. But for now, the team had survived.
EPISODE 2
The team stumbles through the door, dragging their feet. Adler and Levi are already in the kitchen, cooking.
Zane Fox
(grinning) Alright, team, guess who's "Man of the Match" today ?
The team groans in unison, too tired to argue but still smirking.
Jace Cross
(snickering, lounges on the sofa) Man of the Match? More like man who almost got us killed
Adler Stryke
(glowering at Jace) Shut it, Cross. Not the time
Ivy grabs the remote, turning on the TV. The anchor’s voice fills the room with news about Vaelyn.
News Anchor
"...and there are growing rumors surrounding Vaelyn Kincaid’s involvement in—"
Vaelyn walks in, hearing his name. He groans, pointing his gun at the TV.
Vaelyn Kincade
(annoyed) Turn it off
Jace Cross
(laughing) Careful, Vaelyn. I’m sure that TV’s got a few more lies to tell
Vaelyn pockets his gun as Ivy clicks the TV off.
Vaelyn Kincade
But seriously, Zane. You earned the "Man of the Match" title today. Well done
Zane Fox
Only took one near-death experience to get it, huh ?
The team laughs. After a while, they sit at the dining table, food in front of them.
Elias Sage
So, what happened out there ? What’s the damage ?
Jace Cross
Alright, let’s see... Zane, our "Man of the Match", was all calm and collected, steering us through death’s door
Vaelyn laughed as he ate his dinner.
Jace Cross
Kyrah, the one who almost had a panic attack, but still kept it cool
Kyrah Fox
(boos) Uncool, dude !
Jace Cross
Rhea, the Ice Queen, ready to freeze anyone who dared chase us
Rhea Ward
(rolls her eyes)
Ivy Voss
Careful there Rhea, don't roll your eyes too hard that they get stuck that way
Jace Cross
Oh no, Ivy? She just sat there, staring out the window like a ghost, completely lost in her own world
Jace Cross
And then there’s Vaelyn, who’s basically a walking disaster, but somehow still has a cool head
Vaelyn Kincade
(chuckling) Remind me to poison your food next time
Jace Cross
Oh, and me? Your lovable, sarcastic hero (winks at Adler)
Adler Stryke
(glaring at Jace) Shut up, Cross
Rhea leans forward, voice steady.
Rhea Ward
We got chased, barely escaped, Zane pulled off a d*mn good stunt, and we made it back. Simple
Elias and Levi exchange a glance. Elias looks frustrated.
Elias Sage
I should’ve been there. If I had been, maybe things wouldn’t have gone so far
Adler Stryke
(smirking) I had fun cooking. It was nice to be away from your loud mouth, Jace
Jace Cross
(snickering) You really missed me, didn’t you ?
EPISODE 3
The team is still seated at the dining table, plates nearly empty but conversation lingering.
Elias Sage
(calm, but firm) Vaelyn, your mother called earlier. She wasn’t exactly thrilled to hear you’ve been going on these dealings without us
Vaelyn Kincade
Of course, she did. Typical. Look, Elias, just because my mother hired you and Adler doesn’t mean she owns you. Or me, for that matter
Elias Sage
She’s concerned about you. Not that you’d care
Vaelyn Kincade
(dryly, with a smirk) Oh, I care. I care deeply. I just don’t see why she thinks she can control everything I do
The table grows quiet for a moment. The rest of the team exchanges glances, clearly used to this kind of back-and-forth between Vaelyn and Elias.
Zane Fox
Well, at least we know who wears the pants in your family
Vaelyn Kincade
(deadpan) Thanks for the insight, Fox. Truly invaluable
After a few more quips and lighthearted jabs, the team begins to disperse. One by one, they drift off to their rooms, the exhaustion of the day finally catching up.
In the kitchen, Jace reluctantly rolls up his sleeves, muttering to himself as he starts washing the dishes.
Jace Cross
(grumbling) Joker of the circus in the field, Cinderella in the kitchen. Guess I’m the whole package
Adler strolls into the kitchen, leaning casually against the counter, arms crossed and a sly grin on his face.
Adler Stryke
(teasing) You missed a spot, hero
Jace Cross
(smirking) Careful, Adler. You might just get roped into drying these dishes if you stick around
Adler Stryke
Do I look like the kind of guy who touches dish towels ?
Jace chuckles, shaking his head as he scrubs another plate. Adler steps closer, the teasing glint in his eyes softening just a bit.
Adler Stryke
Y’know, you’re not half bad when you’re not running your mouth (softly)
Jace Cross
(grinning, raising an eyebrow) Was that... a compliment? From Adler Stryke? Someone write this down !
Adler Stryke
(rolls his eyes, faintly smiles) Don’t let it go to your head, Cross
The air between them shifts subtly, the usual banter tinged with something warmer. Adler lingers for a moment longer before stepping back.
Adler Stryke
(smirking) Don’t break any plates, hero
Jace Cross
(softly, to himself) Yeah, wouldn’t want to lose my biggest fan
And with that, Adler disappears down the hall, leaving Jace standing at the sink, a small smile playing on his lips.
