1st day of school
It was early morning.
A boy, still lying in bed, suddenly woke up with a start.

"Oh no! I'm late! Today

Today is my first day!"

"Mom, why didn’t you wake me up? I’m late for school!"
Takumi ( mother)
"Sorry, dear, I was busy with some work. Quickly have your breakfast; you’re not late yet."

(hesitant but polite) "Hi... um, I’m new here. My name’s Takumi."

(looks up with a smile) "Oh, hey. I’m Riku. Nice to meet you, Takumi."

(Smiles nervously) "Nice to meet you too. Uh... this is my first day here, so... I’m still trying to figure everything out."
Riku Hoshino
"Don’t worry. You’ll get used to it. Which school were you in before?"
Takumi Yamamoto
"I was at St. Mary’s. This place feels so different, though."
Riku Hoshino
"Yeah, it must be. But it’s a good school. You’ll like it here."
Takumi Yamamoto
"I hope so. By the way, what’s the first class about?"
Riku Hoshino
(Chuckling) "Math. The teacher’s strict, so just make sure you stay quiet and take notes."
Takumi Yamamoto
(grins nervously) "Got it. Thanks for the heads-up."
Riku Hoshino
"No problem. If you need help with anything, just let me know."
Takumi Yamamoto
"Thanks, Riku. I appreciate it."
(The bell rings, and the teacher walks in. The boy looks more relaxed after the brief chat.)
New friend introduction
The class had ended, and the teacher had already left. A girl walked up to Takumi and said,

"Hello, Takumi. My name is Miku Saori. You can call me Miku."
Takumi Yamamoto
"Oh, hello. My name is Takumi Yamamoto. It's nice to meet you."
miku Saori
(Miku smiled and said) "If you ever need help with anything, you can ask me or your deskmate."

(Riku said to Miku)"Miku, shall we have lunch together today? Takumi, you'll join us for lunch, right?"
miku Saori
"Yes, Takumi, come, let's have lunch together."
Takumi Yamamoto
"Alright."
miku Saori
"Why don't we have our lunch on the roof? The weather is nice today, don't you think, Takumi?"
Takumi Yamamoto
"Yes, that sounds good."
miku Saori
"The weather is so nice today."
Riku Hoshino
"It really is."
The three of them started having their lunch when they suddenly heard voices of other students.
Riku Hoshino
"Looks like someone else had the same idea of having lunch on the roof besides us."
