Chapter -1
Azrael
"Azrael Austen. And you are?"
He says coldly as you step into his office,you're going to become his PA as you passed the interview
Aria
Ahm...I am Aria Harper
You looked down while saying
He raises an eyebrow, his steely blue eyes never leaving your face. Aria Harper. He repeats slowly, as if testing the name on his tongue.
Azrael
You're my new PA, correct?
He asks, leaning back in his leather chair.
His gaze flicks to his watch, clearly unimpressed by your timid demeanor.
Azrael
I have a meeting in 10 minutes. Can you manage to keep up with my schedule?
His voice is cold and challenging, as if he expects you to fail.
You look up and meet his eyes..you froze in your place
He holds your gaze for a long, uncomfortable moment, one corner of his mouth twitching slightly as if amused by your nervousness. Then abruptly stands, towering over his desk. We'll see about that. He grabs his suit jacket, shrugging it on smoothly.
You followed him slowly and accidentally bumped on his back as he suddenly stopped walking .
Aria
" ahh! my head" you said slowly
He freezes at the sudden impact, a low growl rumbling in his chest. Slowly, he turns around, his face inches from yours. His eyes flash with irritation, but there's something else there too, a hint of...heat?
Azrael
Watch where you're going,Miss Aria.
Aria
You got scared and said " yes sir I am really sorry" you repeated while bowing
He sighs heavily, his warm breath ghosting over your face. For a moment, his cold exterior cracks, revealing a glimmer of something softer. Enough. He reaches out, gently tilting your chin up with his finger.
Azrael
Look at me when I'm talking to you understand?
Aria
Huh ? I mean s..uree sirr
His finger lingers on your chin, his thumb brushing lightly against your bottom lip. His gaze drops to your mouth briefly before snapping back to your eyes
Azrael
"From now on, you'll maintain eye contact during our conversations. Understood?" His voice is low, commanding, and oddly intimate.
Aria
You glup and said yes..s
He nods satisfactorily, his finger finally dropping from your chin. He turns back around and continues walking, not bothering to check if you're following. As you trail behind him, you notice the way his suit hugs his broad shoulders and muscular back, making your heart flutter unexpectedly.
Aria
"Aria what are you thinking!! ahhhh ohh godd on the first day I am embarrassing myself " you thought
As the day drags on, you find yourself constantly blushing and stammering in his presence. It's like he has a natural ability to fluster you with his piercing gaze and stern tone. During a late afternoon meeting, he hands you a stack of papers to file.
You start doing your papers while drinking your coffee in your cabin
Suddenly, the door to your cabin swings open, and Azrael strides in, his imposing figure filling the doorway. He spots the coffee mug in your hand and his eyebrows furrow in disapproval.
Azrael
I distinctly remember telling you to prioritize these files before your coffee break,Miss Aria.
You got scared because of the sudden arrival of him!
He steps further into the room, his eyes flicking from your face to the coffee mug and back again. He reaches out, plucking the mug from your grip with unexpected gentleness. His fingers brush against yours, sending an electric spark down your spine.
Azrael
Coffee is not more important than your work
He sets the mug down on your desk, leaning over slightly - close enough that you can smell his expensive cologne. His voice drops lower, almost intimate.
Azrael
"How will you type these papers with shaky hands from too much caffeine?" His blue eyes meet yours intensely, as if seeing right through you.
You started coughing by seeing him this close to you
One eyebrow shoots up at your coughing fit, clearly trying to hold back an amused smirk. He reaches out, patting your back firmly but gently.
Azrael
"Jesus, are you always this easily rattled?" His hand lingers a fraction longer than necessary. "Maybe less coffee and more water..."
Aria
You smiled nervously " but coffee is better uk"
He notices your nervous smile and his expression softens almost imperceptibly. He straightens up, but his eyes remain fixed on you for a moment longer than professionally appropriate.
Azrael
"Do you understand what I'm saying? Less caffeine. More water. You need to be clear-headed for this job."
Aria
"Sure sir! " said slowly
He nods, satisfied with your reply. His gaze lingers on you for another breath before he turns abruptly to leave.
Azrael
"Oh, and Miss Aria?" He pauses at the doorway, glancing back over his shoulder.
Azrael
"If you're going to blush at every stern look, this job will be hell for you." he said
Aria
Huh ? your eyes widened * what does he think of him self *you thought
Azrael
He chuckles lightly, a rare sound that oddly suits him. With a playful glint in his eye, he adds
Azrael
" Try to develop a thicker skin, beautiful. This office isn't kind to delicate flowers. "
Then he strides out, leaving you stunned by his unexpected compliment amid the teasing jab.
Aria
Damm what's wrong with him you thought
Azrael
Later that day, as you're leaving the office, you notice Azrael standing by the elevators, talking to one of the other executives. He notices you walking towards the elevator and his gaze lingers on you for a moment longer than necessary. "Goodnight, Aria,"
Aria
"Good night sir" said while not looking at him. because if you look at him you will surely say something stupid things
As the elevator doors open, you step inside, avoiding his gaze. But just as the doors are about to close, he reaches out and stops them with his hand. He steps inside the elevator with you, the doors sliding shut behind him. The small space suddenly feels incredibly intimate with him standing so close.
Aria
Ohhh god Why??? You thought
Azrael
He hits the button for his floor, the elevator beginning its descent. He turns to face you, his expression unreadable in the dim elevator light.
Azrael
"You always ignore me," he observes, his voice low and gravelly. He takes a step closer, lowering his voice even more
Aria
"I am not ignoring you sir .. it's just I was busy " you smiled nervously , every time you are near him you feel nervous .
Azrael
"There you go again, blushing like a virgin." He smirks slightly.
You splutter, making him laugh softly. His expression suddenly turns thoughtful.
Azrael
He takes another step closer, his voice almost inaudible. Your heart picks up pace again. "Answer me honestly."
Aria
"Answer..r ? "You shuttered and cursing yourself why did you shuttered
Azrael
"Do you always react like this around men?" *His eyes drop to your neck, watching as you swallow hard. "Or is it just me who makes you blush and stammer?" One corner of his mouth twitches, almost like he's trying not to laugh. "Answer the question, Aria."
Aria
"I am not blushing okay... it's just got here I mean... nothing" looking away from him
Azrael
He chuckles, a low sound that resonates in the elevator. He leans back slightly, his eyes never leaving you.
Azrael
"Got here? Is that what you're going with?" He sighs, amusement flickering in his eyes. The elevator dings softly, signaling the arrival at his floor.
Aria
" Yes I am! now bye " you are went outside!
Azrael
As the doors begin to open, he pauses and glances back at you with a smirk playing on his lips. "Sure, blame the elevator ride. How convenient." He steps out, but lingers in the doorway, looking back at you with raised eyebrows. "Sleep well, Aria."
Aria
"Of course I will!! dwww Mr Austen!! " You shouted while going
He chuckles again, shaking his head slightly as he watches your flustered attempt to regain composure. Stepping fully out of the elevator, he calls back over his shoulder in a teasing tone
Azrael
"Sweet dreams, Aria. Try not to dream about your handsome boss."
Aria
"Why will I??!" you shouted
He pauses mid-stride and glances back at you, his blue eyes glinting with mischief.
Azrael
"Why wouldn't you?" He tilts his head with a playful smirk. "Most women do." With a wink that could melt a glacier, he turns and walks away down the hallway.
Aria
"But I am not of the womens uk !! " you again shouted
He stops in his tracks, turning back to face you with a look of surprise. For a moment, he just stares at you, his expression unreadable. Then, slowly, a wide, genuine smile spreads across his face - the first real smile you've seen from him.
Aria
"What?! you are laughing at me??" you said while looking back
His laughter echoes through the hallway, rich and warm. He shakes his head, still grinning.
Azrael
"No, Aria. I'm not laughing at you." He takes a step closer, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm laughing with you."
Aria
"Youuu don't talk with me, I am going! " said while pointing at him and walking towards him
He quickly closes the distance between you two, his hand gently grasping your arm as you turn to leave. He leans in close, his voice soft but commanding.
Azrael
"Wait, Aria. That came out wrong." His blue eyes search yours earnestly. "I meant no offense."
Aria
"You are again making fun of me na ! " you said
He sighs softly, his grip on your arm loosening but not releasing you completely. His expression turns serious, the playful glint in his eyes replaced by something more genuine.
Azrael
"I swear, Aria, I wasn't making fun of you. I was just caught off guard by your comment."
Aria
"Of course you do ! " you said
Then you heard some one said Azrael
You both turned back and saw....
