"Elyra... What a poor soul" one of them mumbled.

"Who are you talking about?" A curious star asked the other, feeling really confused at hearing the name Elyra.

"Ohh... Nothing... I hope she'll be happy in this lifetime..." the star mumbled before the universe, looking at the Earth in a specific location.

"Wait... Do you mean that girl?" The other star asked, memories flooding in his mind, remembering the past life of this girl.

A loud cry can be heard inside the Mersoñes hospital, a cry of a baby girl being born. A beautiful baby girl with a mismatched color of stunning green and blue amber doe eyes.

Her eyelashes kept closing and opening as she blinks, her chest rising and falling by every sob that escapes her mouth, even her crying voice is very soft and pretty, something you'd never get tired of hearing.

"Wow she's so pretty..." One of the doctors said before handing her out to her mother, whose face is tearing up looking down at her beautiful daughter who looks just like her husband.

"You look just like him, I'll name you Elyra as it symbolizes hope and redemption. Just like that, you are the new hope that came into my life... My angel..."

As her mom's words filled her ears, she stopped crying and looked up at her mom who was crying tears of joy.

Her mom is really pale, she has ginger colored hair and a pair of green eyes that shone like emerald.

She looked around the room to see faces of joy, suddenly the door swung open revealing a man with black hair, he's body's big, and he has a tattoo on his neck with the letter 'E'

The man slowly went up to her and checked her, she's really confused and tugged on her mother's long ginger hair much to her mom's amusement.

"Hi my angel, I'm your dad" The man said to her, as she just looked up at him adoration on her eyes seeing her dad's mustache and pointing it out.

"This?" Her father asked as he let out a low chuckle.

She started laughing seeing her father stick out his tongue and pulled his hair up in a silly manner making him look like a fool as he clasped and slapped her small hands.

"She looks so much like you"

"I know..."

"It's like a cute carbon copy..."

Her Father laughed at her mother's words, not really caring about the nurse that's still inside the hospital room, but after a few minutes they finally left, leaving her with her loving parents.

"Darling... You know... I think I want another baby, hmm?"

"H-hey! I just 've given birth to her then you're already asking for another one!" Her mom responded with a red flush on her face.

Her dad just laughed before slowly leaning down and pecking her mom's forehead as well as hers.

Elyra's POV

I woke up in the middle of the night, feeling like freezing and scared by the darkness. I look away to see the door just close by.

I suddenly felt more scared as the thunder filled the sky outside my window, quickly leaving my room and hurrying to my parents'room.

When I got there my mom who was lying on my dad's chest looked worried as she gazed at my scared and trembling little form.

"M-mom..." I mumbled, even at such a young age of 5 I can now speak fluently, maybe because my parents are good at teaching me?

"Yes, El our baby?" My mom responded while my dad walked towards me and picked me up, placing me on the bed beside them.

I let out a sob as I was placed between them feeling the cold slowly going away, the sky going back to being dark.

"Mom... Dad... It's scary outside..." I said, slowly hiding my little form inside my father's shirt.

"Shhh, we're here El, you can always call us whenever you feel scared....

I gasped, that was long ago... When dad would say don't worry because he's always there and wouldn't leave us... But he's not here anymore... He left us!

I looked up at mom, ever since dad left us for his new wife mom was never like before, she became really depressed and usually just watching me from afar.

But it's not like she's ignoring me? It's just that... She feels like the stars... Familiar but it's really impossible to reach out to them...

"Mom, dad... Can I hug you both? I'm really scared..." the thing I would normally say if we're still complete...

I gazed down, trying to stop the tears that were forming in my eyes, I'm a high schooler now, a teen... But I'm already working on part-time jobs.

My mom is really depressed now and failed too many interviews and some even ended up getting the job, but it won't last too long, like that one time she got accepted as a cashier, but a customer got creeped by her, and she got fired.

"Hey, Aren't you going to eat your food?" I looked up and saw a beautiful pair of hazel eyes, blond curls of her hair, the way her eyelashes flashed as she blinks, she looks like a girl from a novel.

"Elyraaa! I asked... Aren't you going to eat your food?" She asked me once again, and I felt my cheeks burning when I looked away and touched my fork and spoon.

"See? Finally, you're eating, anyway... Remember Zack? Is That team captain of the Hawks' baseball team He asked me out on a date~" She said on her Italian accent

She's my best friend anyway, Chloe "Hmm? He did? Did you accept?"

"I did! And girl guess what!!! He confessed to me his feelings, and then I did too like him... Sooo.... We're in a relationship now...."

I Choke on the water I'm drinking and slightly and slowly slinkling some onto her, outting my hand up on my forehead, what? That known playboy?

I looked up at her as she looked disgusted by the water I chocked on and she's a bit drenched.

"What the hell? Elyra... Ewwww!" She said looking at me as if disgusted not until I saw that little smirk on her face.

"I knew it! You're just jealous cause I have my own love life and you don't!" She said, sticking her tongue as if teasing me, i hate it when she teases me...

Maybe because it's true? That I'm envious of her cause she's pretty, kind, smart and perfect in almost everything, she's also rich and lives abroad.

"What are you even talking about girl? We both know that he's a player! A play boy! And yet you still agreed to date him? Are you out of your mind?!" I scolded her, well as her best friend I got to give her all the advice she needs.

"Such a killjoy you are Lyra... But don't you believe in soulmates? When I first saw him he was like the man of my dreams! Handsome, tall, smart, rich blah blah blah"

She continued as my head continued to censor all the sloppy things that were coming inside her mouth.

"What soulmate are you even talking about? Last time you also told me that you feel those soulmate sparks with someone else last week!"

"That's something else Lyra... Trust me on this one please? It's not like I'm lying... And I'm not gonna talk about him this much if I don't feel this attracted to him, right?"

"Then... Maybe I can take him to my be-" I quickly stood up and slapped her shoulders before letting out a loud laugh, what the?

"Eewww!!! Seriously Chloe?" I said, raising one of my eyebrows at her.

"Yeah, so what? I know I'm capable of doing it anyway" she said proudly, making me question her even more but I avoided confronting her even further because it's not my place.

"Anyway, are you going to the prom next week?" she asked me tilting her head to the side as I continued to eat.

"I can't... I still have to work my ass off for my tuition, I got fired from my other jobs..."

"Huh? But you're not even slacking off in any of them, why?"

"Uhh... I accidentally unsetted a customer in the café last time, and I think he's some sort of someone who has a lot of connections because he swore that I'll never get accepted on any jobs anymore, and now I'm slowly getting fired in every one of them..."

She looks kind of worried but then thinks of something "How about you go and just look for a sugar daddy? That's an easier and faster way."
