"Sir, please hold on!", the doctor beside the patient cried out.

Leolin lying on the stretcher, covered in blood and severe injuries, was breathing faintly.

As the ambulance shot through the busy streets, blasting the siren to announce the emergency, the doctor and nurse dispatched to help the patient tried their best to keep him alive.

But Leolin already knew that he was going to die. In midst of the excruciating pain he managed to breathe out a few words, "Phone... Husband..."

"Yes?!", the agitated nurse didn't hear his whispers.

He repeated and the nurse immediately took out his phone from the bloody items piled in a corner.

"Excuse me, please.", she unlocked the phone by pressing Leolin's thumb on the sensory pad. Soon she found the contact named 'Hubby♡' and pressed the call button.

The call wasn't received. She dialed again. The man on the other side picked up the third time.

"What is it?", the irritation was noticeable.

The nurse hit loudspeaker and spoke, "Sir, this is an emergency! Your wife got severely wounded in a road accident! Please, hurry to the city hospital!"

Leolin was listening to every word, his heart expectant.

"Give the phone to him.", the voice cold.

"Yes.", the nurse held the phone closer to his ears.

"Th... e.. o....", he barely managed to murmur his name.

"LEOLIN HILLS! STILL NOT DONE WITH YOUR DIRTY PLAY?", Theodore screamed. "Stop all this act and sign the divorce papers already! I already told you not to contact me. Linnea is suffering from cold and I can't afford to waste any of my time on the likes of you!"

Leolin used his remaining strength to squeeze out his last words, "Theo... I'm dying.."

"Then die already. Stop bothering me!". The call was cut.

Everyone inside the car was rendered silent from what they just witnessed. Leolin's eyes shed tears nonstop. He wasn't able to make a single sound anymore. The last will to fight death slipped from his soul. Now he just wanted everything to end. He was tired. He could hear the doctor and nurse trying to encourage him to hold on. But he didn't care anymore.

A few moments later his phone buzzed. The nurse picked up. She tried to say something to him. But he already lost his hearing. He saw her talking for a bit more before putting on the table for the last time.

The ambulance arrived at the hospital, he was hurried to the ER. With his blurry vision he saw a man running to him. As the figure got closer his eyes widened.

'Max..', he wanted to call out but his lips didn't move.

Maximilian ran towards him, kneeled and grabbed his blood stained hand. He was screaming but Leolin couldn't hear. Yet he knew the words uttered from Max's mouth. He was pleading him to live, to not die. In response, Leolin cried.

The room was being prepared for urgent surgery, in the cardiac monitor the line was gradually becoming straight, he was dying.

Max was pushed to a side by another nurse, their eyes still locked. Max was crying.

Leolin started to regret as his life was slipping out.

He wanted to thank Max, for being there in his final moments. He wanted to apologize, for always pushing him away. At his final moment, he felt his long-lost emotion reignited. He fell in love again. With Max. The man before him.

Defibrillator was being used. He felt electric current running through his body.

As he breathed his final breath, he felt happy to love him, and regretted loving him so late.

For a moment he heard Max scream at midst of all the noise, "LEO!!!" before he was lost in the eternal darkness.

It was an early winter morning. The season was nearing it's end. The sun rose spreading it's soft warm rays.

"It's already been five days..", Leolin muttered as he gazed through the window of the dinning hall.

"Hm? What?", the girl seating beside him spoke up.

"No. Nothing, sis.", Leo replied to Linnea and concentrated back to his food.

The Hills family was currently at the dining table having their first meal of the day.

Wilbur, father of Leo and Lin, was done. A servant immediately served him his morning coffee. As he took a sip, he inquired Leo, "Do you really want to take the entrance exam?"

Leo had finished his food as well. Another servant was pouring him a cup of tea.

"Yes, dad."

"Are you sure about this?"

"Yes.", he nodded his head.

In reply Wil sighed, "As you wish, son."

Leo drank the black tea served to him. Admits he could feel his mother and elder sister stealing glances at him.

"Is something the matter, mom?", he asked first.

"Oh, um, I was wondering if that is okay..."

"The exam?"

"Yes, we can get you admitted to the university you want. Why go through so much trouble, dear?"

It was true. They were a prestigious and wealthy family. If Leo demanded something, he would get that immediately. And that's exactly how he had spent his life.

But this time was different. Yesterday, for the first time ever, Leo declared that he would get in a university by his own. His family members, though a bit happy to see his determination, were astounded. Agitated by the thought of something wrong happened to Leo, the mansion was turned upside down until he reassured and calmed them down.

"I... "

"It's alright, Sophia.", Wil spoke before Leo could continue. "He is being so passionate about study for the first time. Let him try. It'll also be good for him."

"Okay.", Sophia sighed.

The rest of the time was spent in silence. Soon his parents left for work. Lin also headed for her university. Leo was not required to go anywhere. There were servants and a few workers in the house, but it didn't bother him. He was used to having them around since childhood.

He entered his room and sat at a corner of his bed. His eyes fell on the calendar on the desk.

5th February 2015.

After his death in the ER, he jolted up in his 20 year-old-self. At first, he thought it was a hallucination created for departed souls or something alike. After 24 hours, it became evident that he indeed came back in time. Or is it that their souls merged? He didn't know. He took the whole day to calm himself down. From the next day he planned on tasks he must do. He never got a higher education due to his stubbornness in training to become the perfect omega wife for Theodore. So, his first plan is to get into a university. He wanted to do it by doing proper study and not take any help from his parents or social status.

He has to change himself in order to get a different future.

He went for his chair and sat down to study. As he was completely immersed hours passed without him noticing.

At 10:42 AM his phone rang up. It was a message from Lin. As his eyes fell on the content of the text he froze.

[Baby brother!

Great news!

Max and Theo are coming with me!

We're gonna have lunch together.
