Mehndi Mein Chupi Sazish
Chehra Chupa, Raaz Khola!
KASHI VISHWANATH TEMPLE - THE GRAND MAHASHIVRATRI CELEBRATION
The air buzzes with energy as thousands of devotees gather at the Kashi Vishwanath temple. The scent of incense, marigolds, and fresh sweets fills the air.
The temple shimmers under golden lights, bells ringing in rhythm as chants of "Har Har Mahadev" echo across the ghats. The Ganga glows under the moonlight, reflecting the festival's divine splendor.
Samaira Singhania
She rolled her eyes as she sat on the rock seat in the temple.
"I swear, If Maa makes me touch one more aunty's feet!!! My back is already giving up!"
Samaira Singhania
"Kashi ki hawa mein bhi rishta dhundhne ki baat karte hai!!!"
She was frustrated as her mother kept asking others about finding a perfect match for her elder sister.
Kiara Malhotra
She chuckled at her for complaining about her Maa.
"Bas kar Simmy! Aaj Shivji ki shaadi ho rahi hai, tera kya bigada hai?"
Adhira Sharma
She was looking at her nails.
"Haan, tujhe bhi na ek dum majnu chahiye - mast royal wala, bas kisi ki Nazar na Lage!"
Samaira Singhania
She flipped her hair dramatically while smirking.
"Main kyun kisi majnu ke peeche bhaagu? Jo bhi ayega, sidha mere kadam choomega!"
Kiara Malhotra
She clapped sarcastically.
"Arre wah! Attitude toh dekh rahi ho?"
The three burst into laughter, blending into the crowd near the ghats as the evening aarti begins.
Samaira Singhania
"Vaise hi didi kahan hai?"
On the other side of the temple courtyard, a sleek black SUV screeches to a halt. Out steps a tall, brooding figure in a crisp kurta with a royal air—Shaurya Rudra Chauhan—the youngest son and his elder brother Vivaan Rudra Chauhan of a royal lineage.
Shaurya Rudra Chauhan
"Bhai, I'm warning you again... Ye pyaar-vyaar sab sirf filmon mein acha lagta hai... In real life it's just a waste of time!"
Vivaan Rudra Chauhan
He made his watch proper and grins.
"Shaurya, kabhi toh serious mat hua kar. Pyaar karta hun, bas itna kafi hai."
Shaurya Rudra Chauhan
He scoffed and pushed his hand from his shoulder.
"Men nowadays forget everything for after all a woman!"
Vivaan Rudra Chauhan
He smiles and winks playfully.
"Watch your mouth, chote! Yaad hai tuma-"
Shaurya Rudra Chauhan
He glared at him coldly and walked inside the temple, leaving his brother back.
As the crowd thickens, Vivaan slips away unnoticed from Shaurya. Meanwhile, FL’s sister, Prisha, sneaks out from her group.
They meet in a quiet alley behind the temple, where strings of fairy lights sway gently.
Vivaan Rudra Chauhan
He was looking all over the place, finding someone. Soon he felt hands wrapped around his waist with a head touching his back.
"Prisha?!"
His voice came out soft and tender while calling out her name.
Prisha Singhania
She nuzzled to his back.
"Pata hai? Tum aaj phir late ho gaye..."
Vivaan Rudra Chauhan
He smiled at her soft complaining tone and brought in front of him, trapping her in his arms.
"Agar time pe aata toh madam ji ki gussa dekhna ka mauka kaise milte hai? Aaphi bata de madam ji..."
Prisha Singhania
She looks up to his face with a soft smile.
"You are making fun of this situation? Agar mumma ko pata chala toh seedha Banaras se Kolkata bhej degi!"
He let out a mocking laugh and joined with her giggling. They stroll around, stealing a few moments of love before heading back.
Samaira, bored with the rituals, strolls down to the peaceful banks of the Ganga holding the thali of pooja things which was handed over by her Maa. The water sparkles under the moon’s light as she kneels to light a diya.
Kiara Malhotra
She looks at Samira and knowing how clumsy she is, she calls her out loud.
"Simmy sun! Tu zyada over mat bana aur yaha aajao! Even if you fall, Shivji won't come to help as he's busy today with his bhaktas...!!"
Samaira Singhania
She laughs while stepping down the steps, nearing the river.
"Tu chup bhe... Main patakha hoo , par phatungi nahi!"
She placed the diya to float on the water and prayed for the wellbeing of her family, friends and everyone.
Just as she tried to stand, her foot slipped on the moss-covered stone. Unfortunately the thali in her hand fell into the river and the kumkum on the plate fell all over her face making her unrecognizable.
Samaira Singhania
She closed her eyes and gasped.
"Aare baap re-!!!"
Before she can hit the water, a strong hand grips her wrist firmly, pulling her back with a swift motion.
Shaurya Rudra Chauhan
He said in his low cold voice.
"Careful..."
Samaira looks up but her face is obscured- thanks to the kumkum that has spilled over her features.
Samaira Singhania
Her eyes stuck at his handsome features.
"Thank you!"
Was the only thing that let out her mouth in a low soft voice.
Kiara Malhotra
Notices someone was with Samaira and calls her out.
"Simmy, aajao!"
Samaira Singhania
Nodding to Kiara, she took her wrist from his grip and walked from him.
At this very moment, her kada fell from her hand near his feet.
Without turning back, she disappeared into the crowd. Shaurya bends down, picking up the delicate kada. He stares at the spot where she vanished, an unfamiliar curiosity flickering in his eyes.
Shaurya Rudra Chauhan
He looks at her kada in his hand.
"Kaun thi tum...?"
The temple bells ring louder as the night thickens- with the first thread of destiny tying them together.
