"Hey did y'all hear about the illuminating night that's happening tonight!?" A student in class barged in as all the students begin to talk about the event that's upcoming this week.

May you ask what is Illuminating Night,well it happens to be an event happening every 200 years and us the people are getting to experience this event for the first time in our lives.

Most of the students in school are excited about this event,it's a very 'rare' event,I guess...

Looking back into my journal of hand written notes about this event,this event is not just any event but something more to it. Many complicated things came up during my summer vacation and let's just say that I am not what they call humane. I decide to hear the students talk about this event of this week,knowing this is no ordinary event if anything this is something more supernatural and yet people do not question anything about it. They seriously don't question such things here which is quite weird.

"They're so easy to fool aren't they,they don't even question something so rare and yet they just go with it not knowing what it truly is," I turn my head to the left,eyes meeting with the raven haired male,Drei. Flashing a side snicker as his head rested on left hand."I'm guessing you have questions about this particular event hm?"He spoke,his voice deep yet soft. I've heard of him,rumors about him always alone,not wanting anything to do with anyone. He was sort of rare among the school population. Someone who kept secrets at that. I didn't even respond to him but to him it amused him he flashed a smile towards my way as he looked at me one last time before he turned his head towards the window looking out the morning sky.

"Friend Rachel?" I look in front of me to see Kori,one of my few close friends."That boy,are you-" I only sighed and shook my head no cutting of her sentence."Oh I thought he was a friend" Kori smiled as she sat next to me."Friend Rachel I have been hearing about the festivities of illuminating night,but I must ask do you know what illuminating night is?" Kori asked curiously."Illuminating night...huh",I mumbled."I don't think she'll want to answer your question Kori",Robin spoke as he sat next to Rachel."Oh would someone please explain this event,everyone seems excited and I want to know such an event",Kori spoke out enthusiastically."From what I heard this 'illuminating night' happens every 200 years",Robin spoke."It's an event something not many experience but we get too which is kinda cool". Robin then pointed over towards the window. The outside early morning."You see the full moon there...",he continued,"Once it's night time the full moon will illuminate a nice twilight glow with a black ring that is some sort of orbit". He explained as Kori was nothing but in awe and eager to know about this.

"Is there anything more to this event?"Kori questions as she was pleased with the answers she was receiving."That's all I know actually",Robin spoke awkwardly. I grab hold of a book I recently found and open it to a specific page that talks about the similar characteristics of illuminating night. As to how I found this book,during my summer it became quite difficult to adapt to the new changes in my body,as well the things I now know about myself."I don't know if this might help...but I found some information about this as well",I spoke softly."Oh friend Rachel please share with us your knowledge for this event",Kori spoke as she had a bright smile on her face."From the sources I found it on...the illumination of the moonlight reflects off an entrance of some sort of portal....and well the black ring indicates the ability to cross...it's like glass that reflects a different world",I say as my two friends stare at me in an awkward way.

"I knew I shouldn't have said anything.."I mumbled and look into the book."It's not that we think it's crazy or-""What she says is true ya know"I look over to the left as Drei had cut Robin off."How so?"Kori questions. "That's because the light that reflects off the moonlight like a glass portal,reflects off the color of the eye of who controls this ability." Drei spoke as he fiddled with a unique marbel."Ability?"Robin questioned as he let out laugh."Yes an ability quite unique",Drei spoke."And how exactly can you prove this kind of thing?",Robin questions.

Drei only turned to look at us,only his eye color was a different shade and was rather glowing.....

Glowing the same twilight shade as a black ring was in his eyes.

"I'm the one with the ability",He said

I got up immediately,the same color prescribed in the text of the book. Looking closely at the glow....a shadow suddenly appeared,falling on my back as I look at Drei.

"What's wrong Rachel?"He asked plainly,his eye color back to the jet black color they were. Standing up immediately as I look down at the book in the floor.

Drei followed as to where my eyes landed on,he hummed in amusement as he picked it up."I've wondered as to where this ended up"He analysed the book in his hand as I look around. Everyone stared but they were quiet,almost as if they were.....frozen.

"If you're wondering,we're inside your mind",Drei spoke.

Coming back to reality I was still on the floor and so was the book,Drei was in his seat as he stared at me."Rachel?" Kori questioned as she clapped her hands,looking at her as she catched my attention."You alright Rachel?"Robin questions as both him and Kori helped me up. I only nodd and fix myself,but then stare at them."Did you see his eyes?"I whispered to them as I look over at Drei."What do you mean?"Robin says as he raised his eyebrows."His eyes.....I was sure..?What..?"I shake my head."Drei was just explaining about ability users,what he says about them is quite fascinating,  it relates to this event",Robin spoke as I shake my head."But...he said he's..."I let out a breath as I look at him,he's acting like nothing happened. I then sat down as I calmed myself."Drei says he knows a great spot as to where we can see the moonlight tonight,he thinks we should come along and I think we should go"Robin spoke as he gestured his hand towards Drei."Um y-yeah sure"I spoke as I look away from Drei,looking over at Kori as she was rather excited.

Later that afternoon I sat outside at the top of the school building,hearing steps I turn to look and see him,Drei."Mind explaining what the hell you were doing inside my mind",I mutter. He looks at me and sits down next to me,"Just wanted to confirm a hunch",He spoke."What hunch",I say."I figured you'd be the demon that had been released in this world,"He spoke as I stood up immediately."How could yo-""I know certain things about you Rachel",he continued,"One being that you're a demon",He stood up as well and took out a book from his bag. The same book I had,"There are only two copies of this book and I'm glad you're the one that has it,even if you don't know what it all means"."Who's Mare?"I question knowing the recalling of a certain page I read,written in it said someone who is Mare."I guess you figured out on how to read it,you're smart to figure out our language",He spoke as he opened the book in a certain page. Our?what did he mean by our?

"Rachel so far you're one of the three ability users I've found and I need you to stay safe and be cautious at all times",Drei says as he began walking towards the door to head to class,"One more thing your friends-"Yeah you're gonna say 'stay away from them as much as possible' typical drama shit stuff cause of the 'danger',"I quote sarcastically.

"Actually....tell them what you are,you can't hide it from them,they need to know now then figure it out in the worst case scenarios",with that said he walked away,leaving me puzzled. Tell them huh? Sure that seems easy enough.....

just say hey guys I'm a demon and I am somehow in danger yeah...

being a demon isn't easy at all........I have so many questions,who exactly is this guy.....

How can I explain myself to my friends about this......

It isn't going to be easy.....

How can I do it?....

I had eventually sat with Rachel during our break time, she had something important to tell me. We may not be so compatible and it may seem like there is no possibility of being friends, but she's the closest friend I've got. I may have been nice and friendly to everyone but she was the one who showed me around the school and the city. I hope we stay friends forever, looking over to Rachel,I smiled."What was it that you wanted to talk about?",I question her."Don't you think Drei is a bit off, as in like he can't be trusted",Rachel spoke softly."Well what makes you say that Rachel?",I question again."Well I-I d-don't know how exactly to put it but there is something off about him",Rachel looked over to Drei and back to me."Are you saying you don't like people who are off?"I question sadly, see I may seem like I don't have secrets but I do, everytime I look into the night sky I see these lights. It's like something is calling me, during these years I have been hiding something from my friends and I'm sure I'll be able to tell them soon, that's if they accept me."No, no I'm not against odds or anything, it's just that there is something about him that makes him seem like an enemy and a friend at the same time",She spoke as she grasped a book tightly, a particular book I've never seen her read. I've never seen that book in any of her shelves when I come over. Taking a look I touch the cover, Rachel immediately pushing my hand slightly away. I look at her with concern."Rachel....are you okay?"I ask, looking at her expression, she said nothing. From there I knew, there is something wrong, she's hiding something and I'm sure she feels like she's alone, but she's not, not anymore. I put my hand on her shoulder,"Rachel please tell me what's going on with you, I'm sure what ever it is you'll be able to get through it."I say giving her some courage and someone to lean on."If I'm going to be honest with you, it can't be here",she spoke as she looked around. I immediately understood what she meant by that, honestly we may never know who can hear us and eventually use it against us. I understood why Rachel was almost always alone, people are never what they seem they're like a coin, they have two sides to each other, well depending on who it is your with. They can either be an enemy or a friend."I'll tell you later tonight if that's okay with you Kori",I hear Rachel as I instantly smile, most times Rachel doesn't tell me anything, I'm glad she'll tell me what's going on with her now.

4:50 PM

After school Rachel walked with Kori and Robin."Are you sure about coming Rachel, you really didn't seem fond of Drei",Robin spoke."I'll be fine,don't worry about it",Rachel reassured to him."Tonight will be so much fun, I can't wait for this joyous event, Drei said he picked a good spot for us right?" Kori questioned with joy in her eyes. Robin nodded his head,"Apparently he picked the best spot in this city", he spoke as he walkes ahead of them.

Later that evening they met up with the one and only dark haired male. Drei had texted Robin the location, the place was quite a view, something they've never noticed in the city."This is amazing, I've never seen such a beautiful sunset!",Kori cheered as she looked at the view in front of her eyes. A cherry tree with a swing stood next to the two boys and two girls. A nice high altitude as the sunset shined the sky in nice colors. The sky was orange,red ,blue, and purple, the colors each fading towards one another as clouds were a nice shade of the grapefruit.

"I gotta admit, this is awesome",Robin states as he looks at Drei."How did you find this place?"Robin questioned."Well I somehow stumbled upon this place actually"Drei spoke as he smiled at the sunset.

11:30 PM

"Does the illuminating moon happen this late!?"Kori questioned to Drei. Drei only shook his head and laughed it off,"Look up",he spoke out as the four teens looked at the dark blue sky.

The moon shone a blue hue, slowly turning to bright purple.

The wind blew immediately, the trees blossoms blowing away as the black ring shone near the moon.

Soon enough, a storm began to happen ahead. Lightning bolts of red color were seen, immediately something flashed before the four teens eyes. Rachel immediately took hold of Kori and Robin's hand and dragged them away from the dark haired male."What the hell was that!?"She questioned angrily at Drei. Drei only turned to face her, for Rachel and her friends to see the same color in his eyes.

He didn't respond to her, he didn't look at Rachel, he was looking for something or rather someone else. The color never leaving his eyes.

Soon enough, a ring surrounded him. With a nice hue of blue, a shadow had soon appeared in front of them. The same shadow Rachel had seen in his eyes earlier.

She was now tempted as she looked into the shadows eyes, the shadow's hand was out for her taking. Rachel looked deeply into the eyes of the shadow. Reaching her hand towards it, and soon a single sound of a drop was heard.

Rachel's POV

"Where am I", Looking at my surroundings was emptiness, looking to the ground, I was walking on water?, I could see my reflection.

"Go run!?Get away from him", a voice of in the distance, I could hear it.

Coming back to my senses, looking towards my friends, they layed unconscious as the dark haired male was coughing up blood. Only a new person appeared in my eyes. A female, similar to Drei. She looked at me and back at him and kicked him across, his back hitting tree trunk of the cherry tree. He wasn't. . . . . .doing anything about it. He only layed there as the girl watched him bleed.

"You should leave," The female spoke,"Take your friends away and forget about what you saw",she spoke bitterly.

"I'm not leaving, not until I get my answers. . . . Mare",I spoke out to her, realizing what I said, I hear a small laugh."You finally get to have your questions answered", I look at Drei as he looks at me. Pain in his eyes as he held his side, he was bleeding badly he was stabbed. My only actions was rushing to him and help him up.

"How could she know such a thing like that!?" The girl spoke,now that I realize it, Mare, I called her Mare.

"Answer me!?" She spoke as she threw a dagger at Drei.

"Stop!You're hurting him",I yell, only without thinking she fell to the ground at the sudden wave of my scream.

Staring at me with an intimidating look, I realized what she was looking at, the gem near my crown, it had shown again.

"H-how could that be?" She spoke as she stood up."You're-""The Raven",Drei spoke as he struggled to stay up."Why did you bring her in this!?This is between me and you and no one else Drei!"

I look at Drei and back at the female,"Who are you?"I questioned."Her name is Marina, Marina Mare",I look over at Drei as he spoke taking out the dagger that stabbed his side.

"And as to our connection, it doesn't simply matter",Marina spoke,she looked in disappointment just by saying that. She spoke to him bitterly and she didnt even look at him.

"I recommended you stop seeing this bastard, he's a traitor, a deceiver, a lier."She spoke as if venom were to spit from her tongue. She took out another blade, she was going to kill him at this rate. She pointed the dagger towards him.

Drei's POV

It all happened suddenly, I knew Marina would try to kill me eventually and get her bloody revenge, only to expect no impact. I looked up.....

But looking up was a bad decision, Rachel had taken the hit. . . .

She was pierced by the blade of my own sister, she dropped to her knees and clutched her side.

"I'll come to kill you another time Drei"

"I'll find you once you're alone"

"I'll make sure to give you a proper burial, my dearest brother", and soon she was gone.

Darkness clouded my vision, I was in the bitter darkness.

"DREI!?"
