The phone rang when I looked over at the clock for the time it was 1 in the morning.  It was my best friend star “h-hello” I said. “Help we got into a car accident!” said a man's voice that was slightly familiar “star is hurt and won’t wake up I can’t get ahold of the police department or the hospital” he said frantically.  “What, where are and who are you?” I responded quickly. “It doesn't matter who I am at the moment and we’re at the corner of west main and central east” he responded. “Ok, I’m on the way” then there was a click I hung up the phone and grabbed my jacket not even bothering to get out of my pj’s. I mean I can understand why they called me I’m a first responder in training but how did he know that?  Who was he? But he was right if someone needed help names don’t really matter at that moment.

I made the half hour drive in 10 minutes.  When I arrived star’s jeep was there but she and the mystery person was nowhere to be found.  I tried calling out to her but there was no response. So I tried calling her phone I heard it start ringing.  I followed the sound to an area in a field of tall grass as I crouched down to pick it up I heard a crunch from behind me then before I could turn around I felt something hit my head really hard then I feel to the ground with a thud then I was out….

Chapter 2

The Kidnaping

When I woke up and opened my eyes to a bright light in a seemingly dim room.  I remember going in and out of conciseness for a while but not much else. When I would start waking up I would smell something and would go back to sleep.  I don't even know how long it has been but it only felt like it's been a day or two. All I know for sure is that I’m starting to get really hungry. My stomach growled in agreement.  My eyes had finally adjusted to the light. Then I saw it someone was hiding in the shadows I could only see the figure but I could tell they were sitting in a chair. “Who are? Where are we? What's going on?” I yelled.  No answer. So I started to untie myself that take almost 10 minutes or at least that's what it felt like.

Then I realized that the other person was tied to a chair as well. That's when I felt something cold around my feet he could feel it as well I’m guessing.  Because his head jerked up as he started to look around and he saw me. Then the light in the corner where he was flickered and I saw who it was the air ran cold as I realized that I needed to save him.  My best friend, William. I went to step forward as I did he yelled in a hushed and hoarse tone for me to stop so I did “the floor has a motion trigger just above the tiles around me if you step through it the room will fill faster “he said.  The water was up to my waist. Then it hit me I could swim over to him. But I couldn't waste time. So I swam over as quick as I could to untie him when he was free we started to look for a way out then I saw it the light bulb was a door handle so I swam under to the light switch and turned it off.  I waited for it to cool off as I realized the water was almost to the top of the room I pulled my jacket off and swam under and plugged the hole where the water was coming in from then swam back up. We twisted the bulb and the door swung open with a hefty splash as it hit the water. There was a ladder mounted to the wall. The bottom rung to the latter was tough to reach and we couldn't reach the second one so I went down to the hole and let the water rush in to fill the room some more so we could reach the rest of the ladder. As I remove my jacket the water rushed in and threw me back I almost hit the wall so I swam back and waited as long as I could before plugging it back up and swimming to grab will’s leg and started to climb the ladder. When we reached the top we found a hallway with three huge doors…

Chapter 3

Three door

The doors were big enough to fit the hall perfectly.  So I felt the doors one was ice cold. Another was burning hot and the last one had a green substance coming out from under the door that was burning the floor.  Then I realized the doors aren't locked but had key holes. I looked in the key holes of the hot and cold doors but couldn’t see anything. As I realized the doors were straight across for each other I opened the ice cold door to find that it was clear ice and that there was a door on the other side.  Then I told William to help pull the hot door open and stand behind the door and wait for my signal to push it closed again. “Now “I said. And with a mighty tug the door swung open I waited for a few seconds and yelled for William to close the door. And I moved the door a hair so I could see if all the ice had melted. But there was too much steam to tell. We waited a few minutes until some of the steam had cleared and the door was there and there was no ice around it.  “We did! “ I exclaimed as I ran to the door with William close behind me. As we reached the door I pulled it open to see…

Chapter 4

An outside room

Stars bright beautiful stars and I was just about to jump with joy thinking we had escaped this horrid place of death.  But then I saw it walls. On all sides walls I was devastated. What could I do we were still in the house or whatever this place is or was.  But just as William stepped through the door we came through it closed. “IS THIS SOME SICK JOKE WHO IS DOING THIS TO US WHAT DID WE EVER DO TO YOU” I screamed at the top of my lungs before collapsing on the ground in tears. I was so furious that I couldn’t hold my tears back anymore the streamed down my face like the fountains in my favorite park. Then I feel arms wrapping around me as I look up I see William hugging me and I hugged him back as I bared my face into the crevice of his neck and cried.  William was my best friend 10 years ago before he moved away to the other side of the country and I never got to tell him how I felt back then when he moved away he didn’t tell me where he was going or when he would be back or even how he felt. After about 5 minutes I finally stopped crying. “Do you feel better now?” William asked. “Yeah” I said “hey William why did you leave without telling me anything” I said it without thinking why do I always have to do that?  “Because I was told to stay away from you or you and your family would be hurt” William said that as thought there was more that he was trying to hide and he was on the edge of tears. “William you don’t have to tell me if you don-” “yes I do you need to know what happened and where I was and who was behind it!” William yelled. “What do you mean by who was behind it? What exactly is going on?” My voice was raising and when I started to yell he winced and I saw it. I snapped out of the haze I was in and apologized for yelling.  "sorry, I just want to know what is going on but first let's get some sleep and out of this place deal." I said "deal" William replied. We sat next to each other and fell asleep under the stars readying ourselves for what was next, getting out of here.

a hidden door

"where am I? what's going on? William where are you? can anyone hear me?" I open my eyes in a gray room with pictures everywhere and a bored that had a bunch of strange symbols I wanted to know what was going on and I went to go take a step forward and slipped and started falling into the darkness then I realized it was all just a dream at least I think it was. As my eyes started to open the sun was coming up and I noticed that there was a glass ceiling great there goes the Idea of climbing out. then there was a small circle in the ceiling I didn't think much of it so I started to look around for a way out. the only door I

saw was the one we came through last night and that was locked. William was still asleep and I was letting him sleep a little while longer so I sat down on a bench near the center of the room a few minutes later William started to wake up and noticed I was sitting

on the bench and walked over to me he started to say something when I cut him of by standing up because I saw the way that the light was shining through the circle in the ceiling was it outlined a hidden door I walked over and twisted the handle and pushed it open to reveal a large gray room with small windows around the top out of reach " come on there's another door through here" William followed me with out a word " oh yeah what were you about to say earlier before I cut you off sorry by the way, William you ok " he wasn't responding and I saw he was reading something on the wall so I walked over to see what It was to reveal that it was note saying ' to escape from this room you must solve these riddles you will find the next riddle at the end of the last one you solved here is the first riddle " the sum of 2 plus 2 will swim with you" have fun!' well that's just great now we have to solve riddles. I turned around to see pictures all over the walls. wow these are so beautiful but that help us or will they? they look so familiar wait I think I've seen them before they were in my dream now I'm really confused. just what's coming on here? " William come look at this I think I've seen these pictures in my dream could they help us with the riddles" " I don't know maybe" William replied " by the way earlier I was trying to ask you no nevermind let's just try to figure out these riddles" William said " know what what were you going to ask William please just tell me" "did you know you talk in your sleep" he replied " no what was I saying" I said curiously " well one you kept calling out my name and you said some other things but I think they were forgotten things from your past so I think we better just leave them that way. by the way what type of things were you seeing in your dream?" William asked quick to change the subject what is he hiding and how does he know about my forgotten past?
