Five Years Later
The world had long since healed, and so had Taehyung. Gone were the days of running, fighting, and fearing for his life. Now, his biggest battles were keeping his garden from Jungguk’s mischief, stopping Jungkook from sneaking him away for "alone time" in the middle of the day, and preventing Jae-hyun from overworking himself to exhaustion.
A good life. A happy life.
Taehyung sat on the grass, his fingers gently caressing a newly bloomed sunflower. His powers had flourished with time, his connection to nature stronger than ever. The lush green fields surrounding their estate were proof of that.
“Tae, come inside. It’s getting late.” Jae-hyun stood at the doorway, arms crossed but his voice soft.
Taehyung tilted his head back, smirking. “You say that every day. And yet, you’re the one who spends nights in your study.”
Jae-hyun sighed, adjusting his glasses. “That’s different.”
“Is it, though?” Taehyung teased.
Before Jae-hyun could argue, a weight crashed onto Taehyung from behind, knocking him flat onto the grass.
“Gotcha!” Jungguk grinned, resting his chin on Taehyung’s shoulder. “You were out here all alone, and that’s a crime.”
“Jungguk—” Taehyung groaned. “You’re heavy.”
Jungkook walked up to them with a lazy smile, hands in his pockets. “You two always making a mess?”
Jungguk shrugged. “It’s fun.”
Taehyung huffed but didn’t push him away.
Jungkook crouched down, brushing Taehyung’s cheek with his thumb. “Come inside, love. Dinner’s ready.”
Taehyung melted a little at the endearment, the warmth in Jungkook’s voice making his heart flutter. Even after five years, his husbands still had that effect on him.
Jae-hyun reached out a hand to pull Taehyung up. “Let’s go before Jungguk starts another wrestling match.”
Jungguk pouted but let Taehyung go, helping him dust off his clothes.
The four of them walked back to the house, where the smell of freshly cooked food filled the air. Their dining table was filled with dishes—Jae-hyun’s neatly plated meals, Jungguk’s chaotic but delicious cooking, and Jungkook’s attempt at making something sweet.
Taehyung took his seat, looking at his husbands as they laughed, argued, and stole bites from each other’s plates.
He never thought he’d get this. A home. A family.
But he did.
And he wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
Forever and always.
