[I've spent the past 17 days at home, playing games, since summer break started half a month ago. My school experience was underwhelming, but it wasn't due to the academics or the teachers. The issue was the other students, who I found difficult to tolerate. Even those I considered friends seemed to be using me for their own benefit, and when I needed help, they weren't there. I wish summer break could last forever]

Chapter 2 That First Hello"

🌆 "Evening had painted the world in soft gold. She stood there, silent. But Vansh... he wasn’t looking at her. He was lost in himself — in a moment between calm and chaos." 🖤
🌥️ **"Vansh sat on the bench, shoulders slightly slouched, eyes fixed somewhere far beyond the park. His mind was elsewhere — heavy, distant. ‘Hello…?’ A voice called out gently. Kashuko stood a few steps away, trying to catch his attention. But Vansh didn’t respond. Not because he was ignoring her — he simply hadn’t heard her at all."**
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
a little while ago...... 🌇 The evening breeze swayed the trees gently. Kashuko stood near the edge of the pathway, phone in hand, glancing at her screen. She sighed. "Late again..." she mumbled to herself.
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Her friend was supposed to meet her there — but twenty minutes had passed already. She shifted on her feet, eyes wandering — and then paused.
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
There was a boy sitting on a nearby bench. Alone. Still. Not scrolling on his phone, not listening to music… just there. Something about that quietness pulled her gaze.
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko tilted her head slightly and walked closer, curiosity nudging her.
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
She called out, gentle but clear: “Heeellooo?”
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
No response. Again, she tried, with a small half-laugh: “You’re not asleep with your eyes open, are you?”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
That made Vansh look up, startled. “Oh— sorry, I didn’t realize someone was… talking to me.” He blinked a few times, a little awkward. “I was kinda lost in my own head.”
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko smiled politely. “You looked like it.” Then she gestured to the empty space beside him. “Mind if I sit? My friend’s late, and I’m bored to death.”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
Vansh nodded, shifting a little. “Yeah, sure.”
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
She sat down, smoothing her skirt, and glanced at him sideways.

“I’m Kashuko, by the way. You’re not from around here, are you?”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
Vansh gave a small smile. “I am, just… not usually out here. Needed a change of view.”
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
“Fair,” she said, watching a leaf tumble past. “Sometimes I think people forget how peaceful parks are. Unless you’re five and screaming near the swings.”
That made Vansh laugh softly — and Kashuko noticed.
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko noticed, and a small smile pulled at the corner of her mouth.
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko tilted her head slightly, watching him with quiet curiosity. “So you do laugh,” she said, a faint smile tugging at her lips. "Good to know." She brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, the breeze playing gently with the rest. “You looked like someone who forgot how.”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
That caught Vansh off guard for a moment. His smile lingered, but something in his eyes shifted — like her words had nudged something loose inside.
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
He looked away, not out of rudeness, but thought.
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
“Yeah...” he murmured, mostly to himself. “Been a while since I smiled like that... at something small. Something real.”
There was a pause. The sound of wind brushing past the trees filled the silence, and for once, it didn’t feel awkward.
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
“I guess I forgot how too.” smiles faintly
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko gave a gentle little laugh — not at him, but to soften the weight of his words. “Then maybe you just needed a new reason to smile,” she said, almost playfully. “Like a mysterious girl randomly talking to you in the middle of a park.”
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
She leaned back a bit, gazing up at the shifting evening sky. “Don’t worry. I forget too sometimes. That’s why I take pictures... makes me notice the little stuff again.” She looked over at him, her tone teasing but kind. “You’re not the only one who gets lost.” ^ ^
Just as Vansh opened his mouth to speak — a voice rang out in the distance, light and familiar.
“There you are!” someone called cheerfully.
Vansh and Kashuko both turned toward the sound. A girl, slightly out of breath but grinning from ear to ear, jogged over. She wore a denim jacket, camera bag bouncing at her hip, and sneakers that had definitely seen too many adventures.

“This is my friend,” Kashuko said, smiling.“Tamashii Hina.”
tamashii Hina
tamashii Hina
Tamashii gave a quick wave. “Hey hey~ Sorry, I’m always the one running late.” Behind her, another figure approached—calm, with hands in his pockets, his gaze scanning the park like he was trying not to be obvious about being protective.
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko tilted her head toward him. “And that’s Yamita. My best friend... and her boyfriend.”
Omoshiroi Yamita
Omoshiroi Yamita
Yamita gave a short nod, not cold, just reserved.

Just then, Tamashii glanced at her phone. “Oh crap. Kashu, time check. We’re super late—we still have to head to TY.”
Kashuko Yoshiko

Kashuko blinked. “Ah! You’re right...”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
Vansh, puzzled, tilted his head slightly. “TY?”
tamashii Hina
tamashii Hina
Tamashii turned toward him, excitement lighting up her eyes. “The Youthyard,” she said. “It’s this place where a bunch of us meet—photography workshops, open mic stuff, journaling corners... random cool people. You should totally come sometime.”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
Vansh gave a soft, almost surprised nod. He’d never even heard of such a place. But the idea... the thought of it... it stuck with him.
tamashii Hina
tamashii Hina
Tamashii tapped her phone again. “7:03… yeah, definitely late.” She looked at Kashuko with a half-apologetic smile. “TY doesn’t wait, and Yamita hates being rushed.”
Omoshiroi Yamita
Omoshiroi Yamita
Yamita raised an eyebrow. “Only when someone forgets the time…” he mumbled, but there was a softness in his tone that made even that sound like a tease.

Kashuko laughed lightly, turning back to Vansh. “You’ve been here a while too, haven’t you?”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
Vansh gave a small nod and stood up slowly, brushing his hands together. “Yeah… I should probably head home.” He glanced at the faint orange sky above. “Mom’s probably waiting. And if she texts, I’ll have to explain why I was out this long… which I’m really not in the mood for.”
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
“Fair,” Kashuko said, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. Then, with that same easygoing warmth from earlier, she added, “Okay then... let’s meet again sometime.”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
Vansh looked at her, paused just a moment longer than necessary, then offered a faint smile. “Yeah. Let’s.” It wasn’t loud or overly hopeful—but it felt real. Quietly real.
tamashii Hina
tamashii Hina
Tamashii leaned toward Kashuko, whispering loud enough for Vansh to still hear, “He should come to TY tomorrow.”
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko Yoshiko
Kashuko smiled faintly, not confirming it out loud—but the idea hung there, suspended like the last light of sunset.
As they waved goodbye, Vansh slowly turned toward the path leading out of the park. The laughter of the three behind him faded, replaced by the soft crunch of gravel under his sneakers and the distant hum of the city settling in for the night.
His hands slid into his pockets, head tilted down, but his eyes were far ahead—somewhere beyond the quiet trail, beyond even home.
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
"She was different..." The words played in his mind like a soft song.
He couldn’t remember the last time he had smiled around someone new. Not like that. Not without pretending. And the way she had laughed—open, light—it didn’t feel fake. Not like school, not like the forced small talk with classmates who forgot his name the next day.
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
"TY... what even is that place?" He hadn’t asked. He didn’t need to—at least not yet. But something about the way Tamashii said it, how Kashuko didn’t explain but didn’t deny... it tugged at him. Like a thread tied to somewhere unknown.
Vansh returns home — 8:39 PM
The sky had darkened by the time Vansh stepped through the front gate. A soft breeze rustled the leaves as the familiar scent of home drifted in. He didn’t expect to see the lights still on in the kitchen—but they were.
His mother was waiting by the doorway, arms crossed, concern stitched into her features.
Mrs.Hitorikumo (Vansh Mom)
Mrs.Hitorikumo (Vansh Mom)
“I told you to go for a walk in the park,” she said sharply, “not to disappear for hours. It’s already nine, Vansh. Your father’s angry.”
Vansh let out a tired breath and kicked off his shoes.

“So? I was out. That’s what you wanted, right?” he muttered, brushing past her toward the kitchen.
Mrs.Hitorikumo (Vansh Mom)

“That’s not the point,” she replied, following him. “You didn’t answer your phone. You never take this long. We worry.”
He didn’t say anything at first, just opened the fridge, grabbed water, and leaned back against the counter.
Hitorikumo Vansh

“…I met someone,” he said after a moment.

“A girl. Just talked. That’s all.”
Mrs.Hitorikumo (Vansh Mom)

She raised an eyebrow. “Well… I’m glad you talked to someone. But listen, Vansh—just be careful, okay? Not every girl is what she seems. People can take advantage when you're vulnerable.”
He rolled his eyes lightly but didn’t argue. Instead, he shrugged, his voice softer now.
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
It wasn’t like that. She was… different.”
There was silence for a moment.
His mom smiled faintly and pushed a warm plate toward him.

“Fine. Sit down and eat. And tomorrow, maybe tell me before you vanish into thin air.”
Hitorikumo Vansh
Hitorikumo Vansh
“Yeah, yeah…” he muttered, but he sat.
Somewhere between bites, his mind wandered back to Kashuko. Her laugh. The way she didn’t push—but stayed.
TY. That word again. Still echoing faintly in his mind.
Chapter 2 End Vansh finishes dinner quietly, the clink of cutlery fading into the hum of the night. He doesn’t say much after that. Just nods when spoken to, answers when needed. Later, he lies in bed with the fan whirring above, arms behind his head, eyes tracing shadows across the ceiling. Kashuko’s voice, soft and amused, still lingers somewhere between his ears. And that word... TY. He doesn’t even know what it is yet. But something about it makes his chest feel a little less heavy tonight. Sleep comes slower than usual. But it comes.
