Day Dreamer

DAY DREAMER

The room was dark, just like his eyes, dark black, completely focused on me. He moved his hand over my face, tracing my left cheek with the back of his fingers. A shiver ran down my spine and I felt my body tensing at his gaze. He noticed the changes in my eyes that never seemed to hide anything from him. He moved closer to my ears his breath fanning my hair, only to whisper in his soft, velvety tone 'I love you'.

"Hey! Why are you sitting there idly? Its past 7...you'll be late!" my annoying brother shouted from the door.

"Look who's talking...."

I sighed and placed my feet into the cold marble.

"I should bring mom's phone next time to record the faces you make while just sitting" he flashed a toothy smile , making me feel embarrassed of my behavior.

"Get lost, now. Or else I'll break those white teeth of yours!"

He smirked, trying to look cool which he never was.

"You manage your yellow ones, first!"

He ducked the pillow which was the response I usually gave after listening to his' not so witty ' comments. He walked out of the room, leaving me with my thoughts... Of my dreamland.

I shivered my way into the bathroom and turned on the heater. Winter was basically my favorite season, I loved the way it made my complexion go fair, making me feel like auditioning for fair and lovely and I could eat a lot of oily stuff without fearing to throw up. But the bitting cold and my already dry skin that gave into cracks and wrinkles wasn't very favorable for me. My hands and legs appeared like a desert suffering from drought! Until I hid them under the sleeves and long coats. My saviors!

My not so clean room soon turned into a garbage dump as I dugged myself deeper into the wardrobe to search for my uniform, only to find them ironed and placed neatly on the chair beside my study desk. Sorrow wasn't for the fact that I was going to get a scolding, but the fact that I had to clean the mess in five minutes, pushing the heap of clothes into the wardrobe... Only to make them sprung out of it when opened by my mother.

I sighed under my breath, after managing to push the clothes into the wardrobe.

I kissed my mother a good bye, leaving most of the food uneaten in the plate. Old habits! My athletic run towards the carpool finally ended and I found myself sitting near the window, while the others chatted. My head adjusted to the window was just an excuse, to let my mind wander into the open fields of my kingdom. My dream land. The most interesting part of my world is that I'm the master of every tiny speck of its creation ;I build them, and I destroy them, whenever I feel like. There are no rules! Sounds kinda awesome, right? Well, it really is.

The carpool stopped in front of the school gate, late as always. Because the driver always had to wait for the lazy asses, who never considered punctuality to be some serious shit! And I don't know whom to blame for that.

We hopped down from the  moving circus tent and ran towards the gate like wild horses . But to no avail. Oh wait, why circus you ask? Because my comrades in there(especially the boys) show new ways of decency that are more comparable to circus acts.

But I cared less, coz I was already having a date with my celebrity crush in a Lamborghini, running through the streets of Las Vegas.

My celeb crush is too hot to start with. And I'm his queen. He treats me like the best thing that ever happened to him. And I made him do it . LOL.

"Show me your diaries!" our PT teacher sternly addressed to the line that stood in front of her. I hated her. Dude, have ever heard of smiling?

I flipped my bag in front , opening the second chain in which my brown diary laid in midst of all the world's most unnecessary stuffs. I pulled it out, having a small fight over closing the rusted chain. It's nowadays protesting against my tortures. Great!

I heaved a sigh as I watched Miss Grumpy signing everyone's diary. This is the third time, damn it! Now, from the next day onwards, we'll be heading back to our home if caught late. Great again.

What a wonderful life I had! Note the sarcasm.

Except my dream life, that was inched to incredible perfection. So, I always found myself going back there, even if I found myself regretting at the end of the day because none of it was true. And that's the most painful part.

Ever got addicted to something, only to discover later that it's actually a slow, precariously charming poison that kills you at the end of the day? Yeah, that's what kinda my day dreams are!

Kushal and my long drive continued while I walked upstairs towards   hell, my classroom. My crush's name is Kushal, by the way. As soon as I entered the classroom, Miss Chopstick welcomed me with a stern glance.

"Next time, if I find you entering late, Akansha....  you'll stand by the corridors for the whole period. Now, get inside!"

I mumbled a 'sorry maam' and entered the class, not daring to look at my intrigued spectators called classmates. Luckily, I found my Jane keeping a seat beside her, for me. My angel. She was the only one who really felt like talking to an introvert like me and consider her special friend.  Though I had none of those qualities to be special. Mind that.

" We reached baby!" he stated in his smooth, sexy voice catching me off gaurd.

He kept staring at me with those dark black orbs, making butterflies dance in my tummy.

"You're so beautiful, I can never keep my eyes off you" I blushed on hearing his statement, his lips curving into a heavenly smile.

The bell rang and Miss Chopstick leaved the classroom, sparing us the free time to do some chit chat.

"Hey, I was thinking of going to Park Street with some of my tuition friends today. You should join me, babes." she spoke in her cheerful voice, contrasting to my dead reply.

"No babes, I'll have to catch up with my homework. It's been piling up since last week."

"**** your homework! You're coming with me!"

"I wish I could do that" I winked.

"What? Fucking?" she teased me with her infectious smile.

"No, chi.. Shame on you! You're such a dirty mind" I tried to fake disgust.

"You're coming. No further questions"

"Okay, fine.. Can't argue with you right now." I gave her a sheepish smile, while pulling out the maths book for the current period. I pray the teacher gets absent today. Actually, I chant my prayers regularly, hoping that someday they may come true.

After the school ended, Jane and I walked out of the hell gates with our heavy loads hanging on our back. How didn't I suffer from spondylitis yet?

"We're going to have so much fun. And there's a reason for that!" she blushed, a bit wierdly.

I arched my half grown brow questioningly at her, but all she did was giggle like a toddler. What was the case?

"And the 'fun' part is? I asked  curiously.

" Guess, guess! " she wiggled her full grown eyebrows. Oh damn! Why did God decide to half shave my eyebrows while I was thrown into earth? I envied her beautiful ones. Not fair!

" Umm.. Eehhh... Ahhh... " I moved my eyes everywhere, trying to come up with something, but eyebrows were the last thing I remember.

"Shahid!" she whispered, more like a scream. Well, atleast she thought she was whispering.

"WHAT!!!??" my eyes dilated like a air filled balloon , ready to land on my hands. I bet I would have seen the world through my hands then. LOL.

"You mean, he-he's coming with us" I bet my feet wasn't touching the ground at that moment. Shahid is Jane's current crush. He is 5'5,tanned skin tone, birthday on 5th October,  likes to eat continental, has a small sister.. blah, blah... How do I know all of this stuff? Well, Jane did the courtesy to pull out his whole bio data and chant it regularly over my ears. So, except my studies, I remember every tiny stuff about Shahid. Though, only for the sake of my bestie.

We waited like half an hour, sharing Jane's excitement, while the passersby stared at us. The two jokers.

My laughter broke when I found a group coming this side. Oh no! A group! This is a bad dream. I can't really get mixed up with all of them. My introvert mode flipped on, out of nowhere.

As they came nearer, a smile tugged on their lips, I recognized the yellow t-shirt to be Shahid. And I could feel the nervousness radiating off through Jane beside me. Wasn't my fear enough, already?

Shahid moved his hands forward for a handshake and I reciprocated, including Jane. He introduced everyone to Jane and me. I said a formal hello to everyone, trying to smile at the best. While I did that, the water bottle fell from the loose extended pocket of my bag. I flushed hard while leaning down to pick k it up. I could feel their gazes on me. I wish the mother earth engulfs me right now.

My thoughts were interrupted by a hand that picked up the bottle and I looked upward, only to get my breath hitched at my throat. The boy standing in front of me was extremely beautiful. Dark black eyes adorned on a milky white face. His hair neatly styled, cheeks tainted with a soft hue of red and lips with a shade of onion pink. Those lips soon reshaped into a heavenly smile, erupting fire breathing dragons inside my body.

"Here you go." he handed me the bottle.

His words left his lips like casting a spell upon me. My surroundings turned more brighter, warmer and excitement coursed like electricity through my nerves.

"Oh, I forgot to introduce him. He's Rehan. Our captain boy." Shahid  wrapped an arm around his shoulder in a friendly gesture.

"Rehan." I whispered his name in my head.

The moment stopped for a while. I didn't feel like going back to Kushal again. Because, the real world looked so better, so colourful, so enchanting. And it was all because of him.

"Hi, nice to meet you. Your name?"

"Akansha!" I smiled at him, a heartwarming one.

Life is now better than a dream, cause he is a part of it.
