In his arrogance, Ravana sought to test this boon. He believed that by conquering the vanaras, who were the guardians of the earth’s forests, he would solidify his rule over the cosmos. The vanaras, however, were no ordinary beings. They were descendants of the divine, created by Brahma, the creator god, to maintain the balance of the earth.

Ravana, in his fury and pride, set out to destroy the vanaras. This act of defiance angered the gods, especially Lord Vishnu, the protector of the universe. Vishnu foresaw that the balance of the world would be disturbed by Ravana's tyranny. It was then that Vishnu made a decision to intervene.
