"First day of 10th grade... and everything is the same. Until she walked in."

teacher
"Class, meet Riya. She’s new here. Riya, sit beside Aarav."
Riya walks in, confident but polite. Aarav looks up and their eyes meet for the first time — brief, but electric.
Aarav sits under the tree, sketching. Riya comes over shyly.
Riya
"You're really good at drawing. Is that... me?"
Aarav quickly hides the sketch, embarrassed.
Aarav
"No! I mean... maybe
They both laugh. It’s the start of a slow friendship.
As they walk out of school, it starts to rain. They share an umbrella silently.
"I didn’t believe in first love… until it started raining that day."
Riya
"Thanks for today. You’re different, Aarav."
The Missed Call
"Since the rain… everything feels different. Like something's changing… inside me."
Aarav watches Riya from a distance as she chats with a group of girls. He smiles quietly but doesn’t approach.
Raj
"You like her, don’t you?"
Aarav
"What? No. We're just... bench partners."
Raj smirks, not buying it.
(In Class – Science Period)

Riya reads it and hesitates, then writes back:

Can we talk after school?”

"Let’s do this, Riya!"
Aarav watches silently, jaw clenched, pretending not to care.

Aarav sits alone, sketching furiously.
Raj
"Bro, you're literally drawing Riya next to a broken heart."
Aarav
"She’s just... doing her own thing."
Raj
"Yeah, with Kabir. That guy’s got ‘trouble’ written all over his face."
(Library – Later That Day)
Riya’s picking books. Aarav walks over, pretending to browse.
Aarav
"You could’ve waited yesterday."
Riya
"You could’ve called before I did."
Riya
"You always say the right things too late, Aarav."

Before he can respond, Kabir walks in.....
kabir
"Riya, ready? Let’s go!"
