It was 6 in the morning, Alaina woke up, her hair messed up. She got up and went to the washroom, brushed her teeth and washed her face.

She came out singing to a beautiful song, her voice sweet and soft.....

"Alaina!! Are you awake!!" her mom shouted from kitchen

"Yes, mom!" she responds her mother? Alaina dressed up for school and came down to kitchen to eat her breakfast.

"Mom, can I please go to audition".

"You should focus on your study instead of those useless stuff". Alaina's mom said calmly.

"But, mom this is a lifetime opportunity". Replied Alaina

"Singing is not a job it's a hobby, you need to study to be a business woman"

"Mom, you're the worst". Alaina said sadly to her mother. She pick up her back then left.

"Tsk, honey wait what about your breakfast ". Her mother screamed in the kitchen watching her daughter leave.

"Kids these days". Her mother said to herself

As Alaina waits for the bus, she put on her headphone and listen to her favorite song....

"Your morning eyes I could stare like watching stars....."

She sang along and the people waiting for the bus hears her singing, they all whispered"she's good "

"Her voice is so sweet"

Those sweet compliments saying by the people nearby, Alaina didn't seem to hear. She was focused on singing.

The bus came and Alaina walked in the bus, at the window sit.

After some min, the bus stop at her school.

"Hey!, are you going to audition?". A girl asked

"My mom didn't agree..."

The girl turns out to be her childhood best friend, her name is Lexi.

As they walked in the hallway, Lexi said...

"Why don't you try to audition secretly"

"Wait, that's actually a good idea." Alaina replied.

The bell rang, and they headed to their classroom.

After 45 minutes, the bell rang again. Alaina and Lexi came out talking about Alaina's audition....

"I'll come to your house after school to rehearse, is that ok?"...asked by Alaina...

"Of course, come over, and we'll discuss what kind of song you're going to sing at the audition..."

After school, as usual Alaina took a bus to get home. As soon as she reached home, she dressed up and went to Lexi's house.....

"Lexi, I'm at your door....". Alaina hung up the phone after saying that.

Lexi opened the door and welcomed Alaina...

Wait, first let's practice the speech you need to say to introduce yourself...

"Alright then". Alaina said

"Good morning everyone, I'm Alaina Smith. I love singing because it makes my body relax, and I want people to hear my music and enjoy"

"That's kind of short and dull. Let's make it more interesting".

Lexi wrote the speech Alaina has to say on a notebook.

"How's this, look if you want to say this.". Lexi suggest Alaina some ideas.

"This is perfect". Alaina said...

"Try reading it.". Lexi said

Alaina holds the notebook and starts to read......

"A very good morning to all the judges and audience. I am Alaina Smith. I love to sing because music is a form of love and relaxing. Likewise, I want to entertain people with my music if you give me the chance...."

"That was perfect". Said Lexi

"Thank you very much for your help, Lexi".

After rehearsing the speech few more times, they thought what song is perfect for the audition.

"I think, Fight song by Rachel Platten..."

"Yes!!, let's do it" replied Alaina

After rehearsing the song Alaina came back home...

"Mom, what's for dinner?"

"Where has you been this whole time!?" Alaina's mother asked angrily

"At Lexi's"

"For what purpose...?" Alaina's mother asked in a calm voice

"Uhh… Just studying". Alaina replied with an uneasy tone.

"Alright, dinners ready..."

Alaina pulled out a chair and sat down and tried asking her mom for the last time...

"Mom, can I pretty please join the audition. At least a try...?"

"Alaina..., for the last time no!" Alaina's mother said angrily...

"But, I....."

"No more buts, eat your dinner and go to sleep." Alaina's mother said in a demanding tone.

Alaina didn't dare say a word because she knows what her mom will do, besides she have a plan...

After finished eating, Alaina got up and went to her after saying goodnight to her mother

Alaina's mother is a cool mom, except in Alaina's dream, she's very strict. She doesn't believe that music is a career and wants Alaina to be a businesswoman. Whose mother doesn't want her daughter to have a good life... Everyone of course.

But Alaina's mother didn't even give one chance...

After some day, the day finally came. AUDITION...

"I'm nervous Lexi...!". Alaina said in an alarming tone

"Do not be nervous, once you pass this audition you will be producing songs and albums. You will be a big star."

"I'm not the only one auditioning, there are so many people better than me"

"Next contestant, Alaina Smith."

"Go go go, good luck Alaina do it well!"

Alaina looked at Lexi nervously as she walked out of the room and went to the other room where the judges are...

"Who do we have here...?" A middle aged man asked as a first question for the audition.

Alaina said the speech she rehearsed...

"Very well, nice speech. The way you speak has an accent where I find it very confident and like how celebrity would have said…" The middle-aged just said... On the other hand the young man who is 17, the son of the judge who is judging Alaina, couldn't take his eyes of her seeing her beautiful face structure...

"Let's hear your voice then, Alaina" said the judges

Alaina held the mic, fully concentrate on the music her eyes closed as she starts to sing. "Like a small boat on the ocean, sending big waves into motion. Like how a single word can make a heart open....."

The audition went on smoothly and after some waiting, the result was out...

Alaina stand among the contestants hoping she would be called out to be a rising star.... She crossed her fingers and closed her eyes her thoughts above the sky thinking "Am I in or not?....."

Suddenly the the judge called out the name ......

"Alaina!!!

Overwhelmed with tears, Alaina ran toward Lexi who had been her childhood best friend for 14 years....

"Alaina!!!, you did it!!". Lexi said hugging Alaina.

"Go, stand in the center you're a star now!!". Said Lexi, she also cried and shared her happiness...

"Alaina, how do you feel about being a rising star now?"

"I'm very excited, and I didn't expect my name to be called out", Alaina said tears streaming down her face.

"Starting Tomorrow you will be here practicing and focusing on music career, is that ok with you?". Asked the judge.

"Yes, more than anything!" replied Alaina…

"Alright then, let's wrap it up for today". The judges said getting up from their seat.

"Lexi, how do I tell my mom about this?!"

"Just tell her that you're a rising star now, I'm sure she'll be proud". Said Lexi holding Alaina's hand.

Meanwhile, the news channel talk about a rising star from the biggest music company, and the girl is Alaina...

What will her mom say to Alaina when she got home, will she be in trouble...

Alaina came back from her audition she did not go to school today as the audition was at the same time as her school.

"Mom, I have something to tell you..." Alaina said nervously as she come inside her house.

"Oh… I have something to tell you too", her mother said glaring at her.

"Uhh... You go first mom", Alaina said to her mom nervously

"Go pack your clothes!". Alaina's mother said angrily...

"Why are we going somewhere?", Alaina ask not knowing what's happening

"From now on you are no longer my daughter, you are useless. Do you think I didn't see the news?!"

"The news? What about the news" Alaina knew something was wrong

"Get out from my house I don't know you and find out yourself!!" Alaina's mother shouted

Alaina was startled when her mom shouted

"where do you want me to go!!!" Alaina immediately understood. That there was camera in the audition room which mean she is well-known in public now.

"Anywhere but my house I don't care if you die or live!!!"

Her mother's word tear Alaina's heart in pieces, she looks at her mother with tears in her eyes and ask "Why are you doing this, mom. I'm your daughter!! Alaina said to her mom crying.

"You are no longer my daughter, from now on.". Said Alaina's mother.

Alaina knew her mother was serious as her mother already threw out her clothes outside her room. She quickly grab her stuff and left her house.

Of course Alaina's mother is heartbroken too, but she's not happy with what her daughter is doing, besides she has a second daughter who's studying at another state.

Flash back...

When Alaina was 4, she had a younger sister called Anna. After that Anna has been the favorite, Alaina didn't think much of it because she knew she had to obey her parents all the time, so she wouldn't be abandoned, now Anna is in middle school, and she's 12 years old. She started her school early because she's smart.
