Kenji POV

It's always like this. They don't care what place it is or what time is it, as long as they win in a useless argument

"Dad!!" I shouted when I saw the approaching truck. I know the driver want to stop the truck, while my parents stopped and dad doesn't have a chance to stop the car at all.

"Dad!!! Mom!!" I shouted when they're taking my parents away from me. I knew that I was injured back then but I don't mind, I want to hug and stay by their side. That's also the time, you saw how weak I am, Mai.

"Sorry, we couldn't save them" the doctor said to me, I just cried and cried.

It's painful because the last hug I would have from my parents are when their body is cold...

Mai POV

"Kenji!! Eat with me!" I asked Kenji

"No, thanks" Kenji answered. Kenji's chair was behind mines, but still can't be friends with him, ugh why?!

"Mai? Coming or not?" Jia asked me

"I'll eat alone today" I said and sighed. I take out my lunch box and started to eat while looking at the window

"Having friends while you're rich sucks" I talked to myself and released a big sigh

Minutes later the president announced that our next teacher is absent. I go out of the room to buy some chips and started to eat it while walking at the hallway

"Mai, want to have a date later?" a stranger asked me

"No, thanks. You're not even my type" I answered and continued to walk

When I came back I saw Kenji sleeping at his desk, so I sit down at my desk immediately (Mai doesn't change the position of her chair, she just sit the way she's facing Kenji. Gets gets?)

"Kenji,  Oi Kenji" I called his name while poking his head

"I have a story to tell! Yesterday my dog, Shenzui just learned how to hold my hand and kissed me! He's so cuteeee" I said, but he don't move to budge

"Kenji!! Want to talk to me or not?" I asked him again

"Fine, don't! I won't talk to you ever again"

"J-joke" I whispered

"I'm home, Shenzui!!" I shouted when I reached my room. I looked around secretly if anyone noticed me and saw our maid

"W-where's mom and dad?" I asked her

"They're on a date" the maid said, I nodded before she left

"We're alone again, Shenzui" I said after I closed the door and my dog just barked

"Lets give you a walk!"

"Let's go to a park" I said. When we arrived I saw an ice cream truck, so I immediately run towards it

I smiled while running and looking at my dog, and fell when I bumped to someone that made me let go of Shenzui's leash and ran

"Shenzui!!" I shouted and started to chase him. When I get close to him, I jumped but it still ran away.

"Damn dog!" I said

"Shenzui!!!" I shouted again, when I turned around I saw Kenji holding my dog

"T-thank you" I said and hold Shenzui's leash again

"Want some ice cream?" he said, I smiled and nodded

"Here" Kenji said and gave the ice cream to me

"Why did you buy me one? Finally, want to become friends with me?" I said while smiling

"I just want to apologized, I'm the one you bumped into" he said

"You bought me ice cream to say sorry? I don't forgive you" I said, such a cheater, he can say sorry to me just by being friends with me

"Then, don't" He coldly said and stands up. I grabbed his hands immediately

"I'm just kidding!" I said that made him sit beside me again

"Not going home?" he asked

"Not yet" I answered. If we can't do this again, sitting close to each other that I can touch your hand. Why do you hate me so much? I really want to know. If I hugged you will you finally feel that you're not alone? Or you already know because you want to be alone?

Mai POV

"Sleeping again?" I asked Kenji

"Hmph" I looked away and looked at the window instead

"Mai, want to eat first? The teacher isn't here yet we have free time" Jia said, as always she's with Gail and Faith

"There're new lipsticks, the shade is super pretty!" Gail shouted and showed it to us

"Oh, Mai let's hang out later!" Jia said,

"Sure" I answered

"You'll pick up us, right?" Faith asked,

"Of course!" I replied with a smile then they left. My smiled was gone and looked at the window again

"Still hanging out with them, huh?" Kenji asked that made me flinch

"You know that they're using you , right?" Kenji added that made me fake a smile

"Of course, I know. At least I have friends" I said

"Better to put a word 'fake' in there" He said

"Then, will you become my friend instead?" I asked with a smile

"No" he coldly answered and left

It's lunch break and I left to buy food.

After getting the food, I sit down at an empty table. I started to eat and saw our teacher for English

"G-Good afternoon" I greeted her

"Good afternoon. Now, eat. Stay healthy, Mai" the teacher said

"I-I will! You too!" I stood up and bowed before I answered, she left and stayed in that position because of other students whispering about me

"I heard her grade in English is high"

"Maybe she's giving them money?"

"Really? She's paying them money to pass?"

"How nice to be rich" that's what I heard. I ignored them and sat down, and eat again. While eating a box of milk was placed at my table. I looked up and saw Kenji walking away. My heart beats faster and feels okay again

When I came back, I saw Kenji looking at the window. I sit down at my chair and smiled

"Thank you for the milk!" I said

"That's not enough" he said without looking at me

"How about I buy you something too?" I said

"There's a new action movie. I have two tickets, since there's new romance movie too, they made it buy one take one" he explained

"What? Action movie? We can watch the romance movie instead" I complained

"I'll ask anyone else"

"No!! Let's watch it!!"

"In front of the movie theater, 4 p.m."

While walking, I called Jia too, and she answered it quickly

"Where are you?" Jia asked

"Sorry, I can't today" I said

"You'll annoy Kenji again, yes?"

"B-bingo hehe" I answered

"Fine. Go with that weirdo" she said and hung up exactly when I'm in front of the movie theater

"Kenji!!!" I shouted while waving my hand, when I get close to him he entered the theater immediately

"Kenji?"

"Don't shout my name again" he coldly said

"O-okay"

Mai POV

Before the movie starts, there're two boys sit beside me and whispered to each other and happen to hear what they're talking about

"The girl beside me looks cute" the boy beside me said

"I think so too. Even I'm into pretty girls I'll date her" the other guy said and the movie starts.

While eating popcorn, the sound of guns from the movie were still continuing, that's when I feel that someone's touching my other hand

"U-uhm, you're touching me.." I whispered, and he smiled before he removed his hand

"O-oh, sorry" he said. I continued to watch and feels the boy was touching my hand again

"E-excuse me?" I said and felt someone touched my other hand too and saw Kenji's hand

"Switch sits with me" he whispered and I do what he says

"Will you touch my hand too?" I heard Kenji whispered

"G-gross" the boy said

The movie ended and we went out immediately. While walking on our way home, I started to talk

"The movie was great! I didn't think they will really defeat that tough monster!" I said

"If that was me I'll run for my life" I added

"Then that means you're a loser" he replied, I stopped for a sec and chuckled

"Yeah"

It's P.E. time, the boys are playing soccer and the girls are playing volleyball

"He looked cool while playing basketball" I talked to myself

"Mai? Not gonna join any of them?" the teacher said

"I-I'll jump rope!" I answered and took the jumping rope at the bench. I played by myself until the subject ended. I came out from the changing room, I saw Kenji talking to the captain of the school's basketball team

"C-can you replace, Kyle? He injured his foot, we have up coming match with the rival of this school, and I saw how good you're playing basketball earlier" the captain said

"Ok" he answered and left

"W-We have practice later, after school!! Since the match is this Friday" the captain shouted and Kenji just waved his hand

When the class ended, Kenji left quickly. I secretly followed him and saw he really showed up at the basketball court

"T-thank you for coming!" the captain said and Kenji just ignored him and go to the changing room

"What's with him? He just ignored you, captain!" the other members of the basketball team complained

"It's okay. At least we got a sub for Kyle. The talent is important" the captain said
