That's when he spotted an unfamiliar black vehicle below
The strange thing was the black tinted windows. Illegal for normal citizens. The vehicle or rather the people who had it, spoke of trouble.
Arav felt a gaze. As if his eye locked onto someone's sitting in that vehicle, looking at him with a different intensity.
Arav felt a chill down his spine
He stepped back and went in the house without further delay. He locked the door of balcony.
Whoever was in that car is dangerous.
Arav sat on the edge of the floor cushion, taking a moment to catch his breath

Arav's heart beat went rapid in that brief moment. He got up and moved slowly but swiftly across the hallway and tried to peek out of the peephole.
But all he could see was darkness.
Somebody has covered it.
The person or people outside are definitely dangerous.
Arav stepped back and ran towards the table where the phone was kept. He dialed Varun's number frantically while the doorbell rung again and again like the announcement of an emergency
One ring, followed by another and then another until Varun picked up.
Arav whispered into the speaker

Dau, someone is here. They won't stop ringing the bell. They even covered the peephole of the door.

There is also a car parked beneath. Black tinted windows. I felt someone's stare from inside it, when I went in the balcony

All Arav heard on his side was a loud crash sound before the line went dead
The men outside weren't knocking or trying to break down the door ever since Arav took Sylus's call.
But it started again now that the call ended.
Arav sighed and slumped against the wall. There was nothing more he could do. And he can't put his brother at risk.
The door was soon broken down by bulky looking men in black who dragged Arav out. Arav didn't struggled. They took him in a car. Not the one which Arav saw earlier from his balcony. But a car behind it.
Then who was in the car Arav saw earlier?
Both the cars started at once and moved through the streets until their reached an estate.
Arav muttered under his breath

This place looks haunted to me
The scary looking scarred driver gave him a side eye from the rare view mirror. Arav slumped against the seat and looked out of the window as the car parked in front of the large entrance gates

Nobody responded to him. The car moved inside the gates and halted in front of the estate's main entrance. The other men got out and pulled Arav out with them
He was dragged inside. He didn't get to see who was in the other car.
He glanced around with awe at the grand foyer that led intro the fortress.
The architecture was marvelous and spoke of years of passed down history.
Before Arav could look around more he heard Varun's pained voice from somewhere. Arav's expression changed to one of tension and alert. He glanced around to get even a single look at his brother.
What he heard were footsteps from the corridor upstairs that looked down in the living hall.
Sylus stood there with sleeved rolled up and a cigarette caught between his lips. A bodyguard lot the cigarette for him and he smoke it. The smoke curled lazily around him in the air.
Arav's eyes narrowed at Sylus.

Where is my brother?
Sylus stared at Arav and took the cigarette out of his mouth

Arav glanced at a servant taking a tray with coffee and biscuits somewhere.
He left the work at hand and discreetly went to the servant carrying the tray. Arav offered to help. The servant hesitated but out of hurry, handed the tray to Arav and told him to take it to the spouse candidate's chamber
This was the lucky chance to come in contact with Varun
Arav moved swiftly, without attracting attention, and reached upstairs in front of the guarded room.
The guards opened the door after thoroughly checking Arav. The security was strict and no joke. Finally, Arav went in.
The sight broke his heart.
Varun was crying softly while sitting on the floor, his head resting on the bed's edge
His eyes were closed but the redness was visible. He must have been crying for a long time now.
Arav kept the tray quietly and moved to Varun, kneeling down besides him and gently touching his shoulders as to not startle him
Varun flinched and opened his eyes but as soon as he saw Arav, he felt the alert stiffness in his shoulders dissolve. He broke down and hugged Arav
