Silverbrook High buzzed as students flooded in, but the moment Raven Quinn walked through the gate, time seemed to pause. Heads turned. Conversations halted. Even the air shifted. At "17" , with piercing green eyes and hair like midnight silk, she was impossible to ignore.
But it wasn’t just her looks—it was her presence. Cold. Untouchable. Like she had seen the world, been broken by it, and built herself back into something steel.
Raven walked with purpose. She wasn’t new to Silverbrook. She had been here since she was ten, dropped into this town like a ghost in someone else’s story.
Her boots echoed down the hallway—until a familiar voice slithered into her ears.
“Well, if it isn’t Ice Queen Raven,” Tasha Daniels purred. Flanked by Kerry and Georgia, she wore her smugness like a designer bag.
Raven didn’t stop walking. “Move.”
Tasha stepped directly into her path. “Aw, don’t be so cold. We left you a little welcome gift.”
Raven’s eyes narrowed.
Turning toward her locker, her stomach twisted—banana peels, slime, wrappers. Her locker was smeared like a dumpster.
A slow breath escaped her lips as memories flashed behind her eyes— Nine years ago. Screams. Blood. Her parents’ screams and being murdered in front of her, the look in her mother's eyes. Her own terrified 9-year old self hiding, powerless. Her hands clenched. After the tragedy, her and distant uncle --- a man with secrets of his own sent her to Silverbrook, far from everything she once knew, he rarely checks on her.It ends with her uncle's voice:" You have to be strong now, Raven". She had buried the past deeply ..........
She held the locket around her neck firmly- it was given to her by her parents.
Tasha’s voice rang behind her, feigning innocence. “Oops. Looks like the garbage missed the bin and found its own kind.”
Kerry giggled. Georgia smirked.
Raven turned, eyes sharp as blades. “Wow. That must’ve taken real effort, Tasha. I didn’t know you could do anything without a script.”
Tasha’s smile faltered.
Raven stepped forward, lifted her water bottle—and *poured it all over* Tasha’s shoes and blouse in one sharp motion. The girl shrieked as cold water soaked her expensive fit.
Gasps echoed.
Raven tilted her head, deadly calm. “Consider that payment. We’re even now.”
Tasha’s eyes blazed, too shocked to speak.
Raven stepped back with a scoff. “Next time, keep your trash where it belongs. Far from me.” She made a mental note to request for a locker change.
She walked away, not sparing another glance.
In class, Maya glanced up as Raven sat beside her.
“Whoa. You look like you just fought a dragon.”
Raven shrugged, wiping her hands. “Tasha. She’s been busy.”
Maya blinked. “What’d she do this time?”
“Let’s just say... she brought garbage. And I returned it—liquid edition.”
Maya grinned, shaking her head. “One day, that girl’s gonna lose her mind trying to get to you.”
Raven smirked. “Let her try.”
As Raven chatted with Maya,
Just as the lecturer began to speak, the door swung open, and a tall, imposing figure strode in. "Everyone, please welcome our new student, Alex."
Alex's piercing blue eyes scanned the room, his expression unreadable. The lecturer gestured to an empty seat by the window. "Alex, why don't you take a seat over there?"
Raven watched as Alex made his way to the seat, his movements fluid and confident. She couldn't help but notice the way he seemed to command attention without even trying.
After class, Maya turned to Raven. "Hey, did you see the new guy? He's gorgeous!"
Raven shrugged. "He's just a new student."
As they walked out of the classroom, Tasha appeared, flanked by her friends. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here."
Tasha's eyes locked onto Alex, who was standing by his locker, typing away on his phone. "Hey, Alex, welcome to our humble school."
Alex looked up, his expression cold. "Mm"
Tasha giggled, trying to get his attention, but Alex dismissed her with a glance.
Raven raised an eyebrow. "Some people just can't take a hint."
Maya chuckled. "Yeah, Tasha's definitely not used to being ignored."
As they walked away, Raven couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. Maybe this new student wouldn't be so bad after all just based on the way he treated Tasha she might have taken a liking to him.
When she got home, her step-sister was lounging on the couch , her eyes flicking up from her phone to give Raven a brief, disinterested glance.
Raven ignored her, heading straight to her room, she wasn't in the mood.
She pulled out her laptop and began researching her parents' death, looking for any new leads, she was getting restless these days and the more she investigated, the more she feels there are bigger shots pulling the strings behind the scene. Based only on the level of her hacking skills, high ranked hackers couldn't be compared to her.
And yet just to find clues regarding her parents', death easy not to talk of people involved in her parents' death.
The encrypted file she had found earlier was still bugging her, as she was figuring this out.
Suddenly her phone buzzed with an unknown number. "I know who is involved in your parents' death, meet me at the old oak tree at the park. Come alone.
She quickly tried to trace the number.
Alex returned to his mansion to meet his father who was angry with him.
Alex's father, Marcus Blackwood, a wealthy and influential businessman, was furious. "You're attending school without permission? Do you know the risks?"
Alex remained calm, his expression cold. "I can take care of myself, Father."
His stepmother, Victoria, intervened, trying to stir up trouble. "Alex, your father is already doing this for you. He doesn't want you to struggle."
Marcus's anger boiled over, and he threw a cup at Alex, but Alex dodged it effortlessly.
His cold eyes scanned his father and the hatred for him grew even stronger, not only did his father not mourn and honor death of his wife which happened to be Alex's mother, he even married another wife two days after she died making Alex and his mother the target of ridicule
Though it was only some of upper class that got to know, still it hard for Alex hearing people gossiping and laughing about the situation,, and sometimes he loses his emotions.
He looked at his father with a cold expression and ignored them, heading to his room.
After the confrontation, Alex took a shower, the warm water cascading down his chiseled physique. His butler, Jenkins, had always admired Alex's striking features and sharp jawline.
As Alex stepped out of the shower, he wrapped a towel around his waist, revealing his toned physique.!!!
Raven arrived at the old oak tree, wearing a mask. The figure was shrouded in darkness. The figure's voice was distorted.
"You want to know about your parents?" the figure said.
Raven raised an eyebrow. " How did you know that"
Let's just say the Blackwood family's involvement is deeper than you think.",the figure said avoiding deliberately avoiding the question
The figure then handed Raven a box. "I've finally done what I've been told to. Now I'm free."
As the figure disappeared, Raven noticed a small tattoo on their hand - a symbol she'd seen before in her parents' files.
Raven didn't open the box, her mind racing with questions. She slept on it and woke up to get ready for school.
Raven walked through the hall, receiving admiring glances. A boy approached her, trembling as he asked her out.
Raven rejected him coldly. "Don't waste your time thinking about me."
The boy ran off, tears in his eyes.
When Tasha saw Raven, she seethed with anger, remembering the rumors about Alex and Raven being a perfect couple.
"The queen has arrived," Tasha sneered. "Or should I say, the wannabe queen?"
Raven smiled coldly. "You're just mad because you're not as interesting as you think you are."
Tasha's face twisted in anger, but Raven walked away, unfazed.
In the classroom, Maya hugged Raven warmly. As they chatted, a classmate mentioned Alex's family.
"Did you know Alex is from the Blackwood family? They own a significant portion of the city," the classmate said.
Raven's eyes widened slightly. "What's so special about the Blackwood family?", said trying hard to conceal her curiosity.
The classmate leaned in whispering. "Some people say they're involved in shady dealings. But who knows what's true?"
Raven's mind whirled with questions about Alex and his family.
"Hmm, really, what kind of business??!" , Raven asked
" Well you know the usual stuffs bribery and so on", the classmate replied who happens to know most of the news regarding upper class business world
"Oh...", Raven murmured disappointed
As the chatter continued then suddenly a scream echoed in the hallway and the students ran out of the class to check what was going on. But Raven and Maya remained seated 'cause they were not interested as they decided to hit the books before the drama is over.
Then they heard someone say, "Oh no, it's the new rich boy, I think he's bulling Tasha".
"What, has Tasha finally met her match", Another contributed
"Well I don't feel pity for her, you know......" Another
As the chatter continued it got to the ears of the Raven and Maya, and no doubt she got curious and wanted to see what was going on and maybe some clues regarding her parents' tragic end
With that thought in mind she got up slowly, "Don't Tell me you want to watch the drama", Maya said slightly surprised
"Well let go and have some fun,are you up for it", She grinned
