Santiago took a plane to his grandma's house. After his 5 hours long flight he landed at the airport. A lady told him to look for a sign that said Santiago. Santiago got in the car of the person with the sign. They drove and soon arrived at his grandma's giant house. The house had two floors with a window showing a hanging chandelier in the front and cut bushes into shapes of ovals. Santiago walked up to the front door and knocked. The door opened to a man with a Tom Selleck looking mustache. the man spoke, "Who are you, and why are you here", Santiago replied to him, " I am Santiago Garcia, the grandson of Valentina Lopez". The man moved aside of the doorway letting Santiago in. Santiago picked up his suitcase and walked into the house. Santiago walked in and saw a nice staircase with his grandma walking down the steps. "Hello Santiago it's so nice to see you", His grandma said as she walked towards him. Santiago said, " Hi I'm Santiago". Valentina replied, "I know who you are, and William show Santiago to his room". Santiago followed the butler William up the stairs, they walked down a luxurious hallway to the end. " Here is your room", William said as he opened the door to let Santiago in. Santiago rolled his suitcase into his huge room. The room had a big bed, a couch, a tv, and its very own bathroom. Valentina walked into Santiago's room and said, " Santiago tomorrow you will start school at John Burroughs Middle school". Valentina left the room and Santiago started feeling nervous because he doesn't know how school works because he never went to one before. It was getting late so Santiago went to sleep in the huge bed.

Santiago woke up in the morning still feeling nervous to go to school. But he knew he had to. Santiago got ready and walked down the stairs to see Butler William waiting for him. " Are you ready to go to school Santiago", William said. Santiago replied saying. " Yes, I'm ready to go". Valentina hugged Santiago goodbye. Santiago got into the car and drove to school. After a 7 mile drive, Santiago arrived at the school. He got out while watching the car leave down the road. Santiago walked into the school seeing kids all around him. A girl walked up to Santiago and said, " Hi I'm Ayako Wu, are you new here". Santiago replied to her, " yea I'm new here, my name is Santiago Garcia". Ayako took Santiago to the office to get set up. The office gave him a schedule that was the exact one as Ayako's. Ayako offered to be a guide and help Santiago around. Santiago and Ayako walked into their classroom together. The teacher told them to take a seat and watch a video about science. As Santiago sat a watched the video, he saw kids staring at him and laughed. Santiago thought that is was because he was new to the school, but he was still getting nervous thinking that people were making fun of him.

After his first 3 classes, Santiago and Ayako went to eat lunch. They got pizza and sat at a table. An Asian boy walked up to Santiago and pushed him to the ground making his lunch fly all over his clothes. The boy who pushed him and said, " why are you messing with my sister". Ayako got in the boy's face and said, " Hiro what are you doing that's my friend Santiago". Santiago started tearing up and Hiro yelled, " Everyone look he's crying". Everyone looked and Santiago and started laughing. They were saying things like, "He's a baby in middle school", and "boys don't cry about that. Hiro started walking away as Santiago got up from the ground charged towards him knocking him to the ground. Hiro pushed him off and started punching him in the face until he started bleeding. Ayako broke it up and the security took Hiro to the office. Santiago went to the office and called Butler William to come to get him. Santiago left the school with William and got in the car.

After the drive they arrived at the house.Santiago was so mad and upset at the same time about what happened. He opened the front door to walk in and see his grandma dancing to Michael Jackson music. Santiago slammed the door as hard as he could. Santiago looked up to see the chandelier that his grandma was under snap. It fell and crushed his grandma. Santiago freaked out and ran to a phone to call 911 as the Michael Jackson music was still playing. Santiago called 911 and they answered, "LAPD what is your emergency". Santiago was about to reply teeling what exactly happened as he realized that it was his fault for his grandma's death and got scared he would be arrested so instead he lied "My butler killed my grandma". The police arrived at the house and arrested butler William. William said to Santiago as the police were taking him out of the house, " please tell them the truth Santiago ". Santiago replied, " the truth is that you killed my grandma". The police put william into the back of the police car and left.

The police took Santiago to the police station to ask him questions, "What happened when you got home". Santiago replied, "I got home from school and walked in the front door and saw Will cut down the chandelier from the top of the stairs ending up with it crushing my grandma". "Okay we will have investigators go to the house and see how exactly William did it", The police man said as he left the room". Santiago wasn't thinking about anything except worrying about the police finding out the truth. A lady walked in soon and said, " Hi i am Jessica Peterson i am apart of RaiseAChild adoption program". Santiago replied to her, " Hi i am Santiago Garcia". " I know who you are that's why you are going to be apart of this adoption program because we see that you don't have any relative that we or you know of". Jessica said to him. Santiago followed Jessica to a car as the police were walking toward. A policeman screamed, " Santiago come with us what happened ", Santiago was in the police station in a room with the police. The Policeman said to Santiago, " We know that killing your grandma was an accident but you still lied to the police saying that your butler did it but you will be sent to court". Santiago was freaking out thinking that his life was over when William barged into the room and then knocking the policeman to the floor William said, " Santiago run as fast as you can out of here and get in the blue car in the front". Santiago was running out of the police station as he thought to himself, " why would William helped me after I lied and got him arrested". Santiago ran to the car and got in and then licking the car doors. Soon later William came walking out. Santiago unlocked the doors letting William in. They drove off and stopped in a parking lot. Santiago asked William, " why did you help me after I got you arrested". William replied, " Santiago I knew that you were scared that you were going to get arrested so you panicked but it's okay". They drove back to Valentina's house. They walked into the house when William said, " get your belongings were going to my house". Santiago got his things and git in Williams car.

After the drive, they finally arrived at an apartment building. William got out of the car and said, " come on this is your home now". Santiago followed William into an apartment room. He walked in and saw a nice causal house that kinda reminded him of his home back with his mom Julieta. William said, "I'll be right back", as he left. Santiago walked around the house when he saw a picture of William with his mom. In the picture his mom was pregnant and they were holding a sign that said, Its a boy. Thoughts were running through Santiago's head like, "Is William my dad", and, " Why did my mom not tell me if he knew". William walked into the apartment and Santiago said, "You're my dad".

"Santiago it's not what it looks like", William said. Santiago replied, " it looks like you and my mom were hiding it from me that you're my dad". Santiago was mad that no one told him that William was his dad. William replied, " Santiago I'm not your father, I'm your uncle". Santiago realized that he had a family so he did not have to be worried about not having a family. William told Santiago, " Sit down Santiago we need to talk, the reason you don't know who you're dad is that none of us don't even know who you're dad is", Santiago replied, "Why not". William started speaking again, " Because your mom was raped". It was late so Santiago so he laid down on the couch with a pillow and blanket with thoughts running through his head. He was thinking things like, "I can't believe my mom was raped", and, "I wasn't meant to be".

Santiago woke up in the morning while seeing William making breakfast form the kitchen. Santiago looked over to see the news on the TV it said, " A boy runs away after killing his grandma". Santiago started freaking out as William walked in the living room with eggs and toast with bacon and said, " you have nothing to worry about because no one will find you". Santiago replied, " what about when I go to school". William looked at Santiago with a look and said, " you're not going to school". Santiago replied to him, "I have to go to school and get an education". William laughed and said, " don't worry I can homeschool you". Santiago was fine with it but he wanted to see Ayako and tell her everything that happened". William left to get find a job since he didn't work as a butler anymore. Santiago wanted to go to school, so he decided to go anyway. Santiago took some money out of Williams dresser and got a taxi. After the drive, they arrived at John Burroughs Middle School. Santiago saw Ayako walking to the school entrance so he paid and got out of the car. Santiago ran towards Ayako as he said as he yelled her name. Ayako looked back at him and looked scared. Ayako screamed at Santiago, " Get away from me you murderer". Santiago stopped because Ayakos brother Hiro was running towards him. Hiro pushed Santiago to the ground and then said, " Get away from my sister you murderer". Santiago held it together not wanting to fight Hiro. A kid got his phone out of his pocket and said, " I'm calling the police". Santiago ran as fast as he could back to look for a taxi. Santiago got a taxi and paid with extra money he had. He arrived at the apartment at when in. he went in and saw William standing in front of the doorway. William said madly, " How dare you go to the school when I already told you not to". Santiago ran out of the apartment with William watching him. Santiago ran into the road when a truck was coming. " Santonio No!".

Santiago has just been hit by a truck as he was laying on the ground. William ran up to him and, " Santiago are you, okay please say something". Santiago did not answer as he was laying on the ground, so William called 911. When Santiago woke up he was in a hospital bed with police in his room. A policeman said, " there is nothing you can do now you are going to jail and so is William". Santiago was upset but his emotions did not show because he was still in pain from being hit by a car. The Policeman kept talking, " and after you get well we will take you to jail". Santiago got out of the bed and ran through the police and down the hall. Santiago was running and watching the police chasing him from behind. Santiago turned a corner and went into a janitor's closet while locking the door behind him. Santiago sat and watched shadows run past from the bottom of the closet door. And when they were gone he got out and ran back to his room. Santiago ran pat his room and then to an elevator. Santiago took the elevator to the top floor. When the elevator door opened Santiago ran out. Santiago ran until he saw a door the had the word roof in bold on it. Santiago opened the door that had stairs leading to the roof. On the roof, Santiago looked for a way off. Santiago saw that there was a ladder off the edge. Santiago nervously got on to the ladder without looking down and climbed the ladder. Santiago climbed down and down until he finally got to the ground. When he started walking Santiago passed out and fell to the ground.

Santiago woke up in a car driving down a highway. Santiago looked up and saw William driving the car. William looked back and said, " were off again and this time we are going out of state". Santiago was surprised and said, " where are we now"?  William replied, " Las Vegas, Nevada". Santiago looked out the window to see the sign that said Las Vegas. Santiago said to William, " Where are we going after this". William replied, " We are taking a plane to you're grandpa in Detroit, Michigan. They arrived at the North Las Vegas Airport. They got plane tickets and got into the plane. After the four hours and a half long flight they finally arrived in Detroit in a not so good neighborhood. They arrived at a house that was not the best house on the street but it also wasn't the worst. Santiago and William walked up to the door of the house and knocked on the door. The door opened up to an old man with nice silver hair. William said, " hello Sebastián". Sebastián replied, " Hello William, and you must be Santiago it's nice to see you for the first time". They walked in to and saw his grandpa kissing a lady, Sebastián said, " Santiago this is you grandma Nicole". Nicole is a white lady with dark red hair and blue eyes. Santiago followed Sebastián into a room with a bed and a dresser and Words on the wall that said Santiago. William said to Santiago, " this is where you will live from now on with your grandpa, goodbye Santiago". William left as Santiago was just staring and as William shut the door to leave Santiago said, " I love you Uncle William".

    It was the next day, Santiago was waking up as his grandpa Sebastián walked in and said,  " rise and shine it time to go to school". William looked at Sebastián and said, " Where am I going to school at". Sebastián replied, "Marquette Elementary-Middle School". Santiago went with Sebastián into his car. They drove to the school while Santiago looked at the school and saw a lot of girls. Santiago hoped that he could get friends since he didn't have any. Santiago said goodbye as he got out of the car and walked towards the school entrance. Santiago walked to the office where they gave him a schedule. Santiago walked to his class and sat in a desk. Kids were walking into the classroom as a boy walked up to Santiago and said, " Get out of my seat". Santiago replied, " i didn't know it was your seat". The boy raised his voice with a tense face and said, " get out of my seat before im make you". Santiago replied calmly, " make you do what". The boy pulled Santiago off of the seat and pushed him to the ground. The boy was punching Santiago in the face when  boy ran up and pushed the boy off of Santiago and said, " Stop making up ways to fight Jakobe". The boy helped Santiago up and said, " hey i'm Chris". Santiago reply, " hey im Santiago and thanks for helping me". Santiago went home early because of the fight. Sebastián picked up Santiago. As they were driving home a truck ran a red light and ran into the car that Santiago and Sebastián were in. The ambulance arrived and helped Santiago out. When santiago got out of the car a guy said, " He's dead". When Santiago heard those words he passed out in the road.

Santiago woke up with the William holding him and said, " Santiago are you hurt"? Santiago replied, " Grandpa is dead". William was crying when he replied, " I know my dad is dead". Santiago was shocked when he realized that Sebastián is williams dad and said, " William i understand that you're hurt because your parents are dead and i don't even know my dad and my mom is dead so i know how you feel". William and Santiago hugged each other.

Santiago and William went to Sebastiáns house. When they walked in they say policeman sitting on the couch with Nicole. Nicole was crying so loud as the police man talked to her. William said to Santiago, " we are staying here with nicole so you can keep going to school here and i can get a job". Santiago nodded at William as he walked into his room. In his room he saw that on his bed that there was letter. Santiago picked it up and started reading it, "Santiago i know who you're dad is, if you come meet me in Miami, Florida at your old house we can talked about who you're real dad is". Santiago ran to william with the letter and said, " we have to go to miami". William read the letter and replied, "How do you know it's real". Santiago replied, " but what if it's real and i can finally meet my dad". William looked at Santiago and said, " fine we can go to miami".
