Chapter 1: The Boy Who Couldn’t Summon
By Gerald Nyamupfukudza | Directed by Munashe Karasa
Dark clouds loomed over the vast plains of Oravien, where children were gathered around a summoning circle etched in silver lines on the academy floor. The air shimmered with power as young summoners called forth beasts of flame, shadows, and light. One by one, brilliant beings emerged in flashes of light, roars, and song.
But in the center of it all stood one boy—silent, motionless. His name was Kael V. Phonix.
He raised his hand above the summoning seal.
Nothing happened.
Murmurs echoed around him like an avalanche of shame.
"Again?" someone whispered.
"He’s the only one who can’t summon..." another voice said with mock pity.
Kael clenched his fists. It was the fifth time this month.
The instructor, a cold-eyed summoner named Rydel, gave a slight shake of his head.
"You're wasting our time, Kael," he said. "You're not cut out for this."
Kael said nothing. Not because he agreed—but because something inside him... was stirring.
That night, alone beneath a rusted roof, Kael stood before an old scroll left to him by his late mother. Written in runes only he could read, it whispered:
“Your code is not broken. It is forbidden.”
With trembling hands, he traced the symbol of summoning once more. This time, the lines turned black.
A pulse of energy shook the air. The light around him dimmed. A crack split the ground. Something ancient answered the call—not with a roar, but with a voice that echoed through his mind:
"You are not meant to summon what others do. You are meant to summon me."
And in a flash of blinding darkness, the entity emerged. Not a beast. Not a guardian.
But a figure cloaked in writhing shadows—eyes glowing like galaxies of void.
"I am the Supreme Code… and you are my vessel."
Kael collapsed. His arms burned. Symbols carved themselves into his skin—Kairo markings.
When he awoke, the world around him was gone. His shack destroyed. The ground cracked.
And above him floated the being, watching with an eerie calm.

Chapter 2: First Glitch
By Gerald Nyamupfukudza | Directed by Munashe Karasa
Kael stood among the ruins of what was once his home—shocked, terrified, and changed. The marks burned faintly across his arms, glowing like veins of black fire.
He felt no pain. Only power.
And a terrifying sense of clarity.
“What did I summon…?”
The figure before him floated with no wings, no legs. Its cloak of dark matter whispered through the wind, and its voice was like a hundred echoes at once.
“You summoned your true code. The forbidden code. One only a Kairo could awaken.”
Kael’s breath caught.
“Kairo?” he asked aloud. “Is that what I am?”
The entity floated closer.
“Half. For now.”
Suddenly, the ground shook—real tremors this time. Red crystals formed in the air. Summoning distortions.
From them, a patrol squad of summoners appeared, sent by the academy to investigate the explosion.
Their leader, a scar-faced man named Instructor Vel, raised his hand.
“Kael Phonix! Step away from the dark code!”
Kael turned. The Supreme Code vanished in an instant.
“You don’t understand—I didn’t mean to—!”
“We watched it,” Vel interrupted. “You summoned an unregistered being. That violates every law.”
“Then your law is broken!” Kael shouted, his voice unnaturally deep—no, split.
A second voice echoed with his... the Code’s voice.
Vel didn’t hesitate. “Prepare the seals. He’s under arrest.”
But before they could act, Kael instinctively raised his hand.
Dark energy erupted in a pulse. The summoning crystals shattered. The academy squad was thrown back as shadows coiled around Kael’s body, forming a half-mask on his face, one horn protruding from his temple.
“He’s turning... into one of them!” a student cried.
“No… I’m becoming more than that,” Kael whispered.
Then he vanished—through a rift of black code.
Somewhere distant, in a chamber high above the clouds, a robed figure watched the event through a mirror of data.
“The boy has awakened…” he said calmly.
“Send word to the Great Seven Summoners. We have a Code Summoner.”
And far below, as Kael stood atop a crumbling spire in the wastelands of Serax, he whispered:
“They’ll never let me live in peace. So I’ll stop running... and start rising.”
