In the middle of Hungry Ghost month, at 1am, Si Gim gave birth to a beautiful girl at M Hospital and named her Yu Pei. Si Gim loved her very much but unfortunately, her boyfriend, Will didn't feel the same. Will believed, a child who born in Hungry Ghost month will bring bad luck to them, so he decided to give away Yu Pei to other couple to take care of her. No matter how Si Gim appeal Will not to separate them, Will never listened. When Yu Pei reached 2 months old, Will brought Yu Pei and gave to his legally wife to raise her, after for so many times Si Gim cried and afraid Yu Pei will fall to bad people's hand. Even with broken hearted, Si Gim finally had to let Yu Pei go and trusted her boyfriend's wife will loved n take good care of her. Sadly, Si Gim and Will never came and visited Yu Pei after the day they gave her away. Yu Pei growing up happily with Tina, Will's legally wife, together with Tina and Will other childs and even called Tina, "Mama". As the years goes by, Yu Pei was a very happy child untill one day, she heard her 'mother' told someone, she is Will's bastard child with another woman. Since that day, Yu Pei life changed. She always asked her 'mother', why her 'mother' said to someone that she was not her child. She asked about her other siblings too, who are her step-siblings where they came from. Afraid Yu Pei didn't understand, Tina lied to her that her other siblings also not from her birthed. Tina answer Yu Pei with silly answers, saying her other siblings was picked up by the garbage, public toilet and even by the roadside. Yu Pei was the luckiest, picked up by high end supermarket. As only 5 years old kid, Yu Pei believed what Tina said. The truth origin of Yu Pei found out by one of her step sister, who is the youngest child of Tina and Will's who had 4 children, and always jealous of Yu Pei because she never got the attention of Tina and Will as she thinks, Yu Pei snatched her spotlight. Since she knew about Yu Pei origin, she started to bullied Yu Pei. Of course, Yu Pei had alot difference from Tina and her other siblings. Her jealous step sister, Yu Phin will always teased her that she is not their real family. Whatever Yu Pei did, Yu Phin will always differentiate or reminded Yu Pei about where she should belong. Sad. Angry. Devastated. Nothing Yu Pei can do. Even she reported to Tina of Yu Phin action, Tina never care. Tina also told many of her friends, family or even stranger by the roadside, Yu Pei is a bastard child of her husband and other woman. And that makes Yu Pei more sad. Since everyone knows Yu Pei origin, Yu Pei always been discriminated and mocked by people around her. She tried harder to be like one of Tina's child just to fit in this unfair world, but it was never enough. Yes, physically as other people see, Tina loves Yu Pei as her own child, but mentally, truthly and deeply inside Tina, she actually never accepted Yu Pei as her own child.

Years after years, Si Gim never see, never visited Yu Pei. Yu Pei also never meet her real mother. She knew Tina is not her real mother since she entered pre school, where she needed to show her identity document. She felt discriminated by her family, her step family. She knows Will is her father, because Will always visited Tina and their childrens several times a year, but Will never loved her. He treated her as an outsider but he loved his other childrens who are birthed by Tina. Tina and Si Gim are enemy. Who wants to get along with their husband's mistress? Tina accepted to take care Yu Pei because for her, a child is innocence. Tina depressed of how Will treated her. Will abandoned her, and let her alone take care of the childrens. Never had enough money, to prepare 3 meals a day for the childrens. Will never asked how they feel, how is their life going through without him. He only came back visited them several times a year, without saying or asking anything. No one understand, why Will act such like that. Betrayed Tina and his childrens, gave away Yu Pei and never loved her, but still come back to visit them. When Yu Pei reached 10 years old, that was the first time she will meet her real mother. In the morning, Tina will go to work and only left some of her children at home. Some of them are already an adult, some still studying in high school. One day, Yu Pei and her step brother, Ju Chai who is 17 years old teenager, are at home. Will contacted Ju Chai asking whether Tina is at home. That is the day Will bring Si Gim to meet their bastard daughter, Yu Pei at Tina's house. Yu Pei never knew about it. ju Chai toled her that father will bring her real mother, Si Gim to visit them. She's afraid. She peaked Si Gim who is sitting at the living room, from her bedroom, feeling awkward. She afraid Si Gim will take her away. She never see her, never know her nor say had any bond to her. She look Si Gim as if she is looking at the stranger. Si Gim wanna hug her, wanna see her closely after so many years separated, but she knows, she cannot forced her or urged her to accept who she is. Si Gim must build the bond with Yu Pei slowly, and not to scare her. Therefore, she will always come and visit Yu Pei. She hoped one day, Yu Pei will accept her as mother. The meeting known by Yu Phin. Yu Phin told Tina, but Tina acted calmly. Tina asked how Yu Pei felt for the first time meeting her real mother, Yu Pei had nothing to described. Yu Pei always treated and loved Tina as her own mother. For her, no one can replaced Tina in her heart. Tina felt challenged of Will and Si Gim secretly visit Yu Pei, so she asked Si Gim to come frankly in her absence. Tina wanted to show Si Gim that she did take good care of Yu Pei. Si Gim thanked to Tina. Si Gim never wanted to gave away Yu Pei to anyone, it was Will who didn't want Yu Pei. Si Gim tried to explained to Tina, but she knows, Tina won't listened to her who had snatched away Will from Tina. But still, she grateful that she can meet and visit Yu Pei whenever she wants.
