Luca steps closer. The stranger leans against a tree—tall, lean, cloaked in shadows. His eyes glow faintly red.

A breeze passes. Ash’s scent hits Luca—wild pine, rain, blood. Unfamiliar. Dangerous. Beautiful

Their hands brush as Luca steps closer. A static spark shoots between them. Luca gasps. Ash flinches

Suddenly, a howl echoes in the distance—Riley calling for Luca

But Ash is already gone—vanished into the dark like smoke. Luca is left staring at the space where the red eyes had been
