I'm Mia 19 years old girl, from a middle class family, I don't have many friends. In fact, there is only one, his name Alex. I didn't trust people easily, but he justified my confidence. We met two years ago and since then we have been inseparable. A year ago, we moved together to London and now we live here.

I work as an editor in a publishing house (I forgot to mention - I love books very much).

Alex works as a financial manager at Carter Enterprise Holding. He has a girlfriend Anna, she's fun and nice person. They got to know each other shortly after we came here. She is the secretary of Carter Enterprise CEO Reed Carter.

Yesterday at late afternoon, my parents came to in London, but we will go out today at dinner because yesterday they were tired from flying. They have a small (not so small) business and would meet with their business partners, they will stay for 4 days.

When I went to work today, I realized that my day wouldn't be busy because I only had a meeting with Mr. Lucas (a publisher) and Mr. Carter, whose company owned the publishing house.

I didn't know much about Reed Carter, but he was insanely wealthy, his family too, but he graduated from a state university,I think that's a little savage. Every girl wanted it for herself.

I had also read in business magazines about everything he owned in the country and beyond, and it wasn't that little. I had seen his pictures online, he didn't look like the typical CEO, there was something different about .

When it was time for our meeting, I went to the meeting room where he was alone.

"Hello, Mr. Carter." I said a little nervous.

"Hello, you must be Miss Mia Scott," he said, straightening up and giving me a hand.Mr. Lucas's secretary entered and informed us that he would be late.

"Well, Miss Scott when did you work here?" Asked to fill the awkward silence "What do you think about the publishing house?"

"I have been working here for 6 months and I like it very much."

"Your name is beautiful,just like you." he said to me.

"Thank you, Mr. Carter," I said, uncertainly blushing.

"I'm just pointing out the truth. And call me Reed."

Just before answering, Mr. Lucas came in and the meeting started. Whenever I look at Reed, I saw he was looking at me.

When the meeting was over and I went to my office, he followed me, which a little surprised and puzzled me, as the elevator was in the opposite direction.

"How can I help you, Mr. Carter?" I asked

"Maybe you can give me your number and go out for dinner with me, Mia." Reed said without taking my eyes off me

I was not sure what to answer.

"I'm busy tonight." I said, staring at my fingers.

"Then you can give me your number." he said, and I looked at him, I was sure I'm red like a tomato. "To find out about your time."

"Fine then." I gave him my number, and he gave me his own and left smiling.

The rest of the day went well, although I didn't stop thinking about what happened in my office today. When I got back in home, I told Alex everything, and he said "He might just want to discuss something about work."

Now I going to the restaurant where I will meet my parents. When I arrived, I gave the keys to the jack and he gave me a number. I went to the restaurant where the host told me where is my parents table. As I approached, I noticed that they were sitting with another couple.

"Good evening," I said, watching my parents bewildered.

"Good evening, my dear." mom said, embracing me. "These are Mr. and Mrs. Carter," she told me.

"Hello"

"Is you already looking for the perfect dress?" Mrs. Carter asked me after we order the diner. "By experience I know that a wedding dress is not so easy to choose."

"Wedding dress? For which wedding?"

"For you and our son," she answering me, and everyone at our table looked at me."It's so good your parents agreed. In fact, our son will be here any moment."

Wedding ??? My wedding???

I looked at my parents.

"What have you done?" I asked them, and I felt the blood drain from my face.

They looked at each other and then dad answered.

"You honey, they offered you to marry their son, and hardly anyone could get a better offer. You know how much we love you and that was the reason why we agreed."

Before I can answer I heard man's voice behind me .Voice I already knew. It was Reed.

"Good evening, excuse me for the delay." he said calmly, as if he knew for all of this. "Are you okay?" He looking me.

"Did you know about that?"I whisper.

"I knew."

That was the tip. I got up and took my things.

"Excuse me" I said, and left.

When I got home, Alex wasn't there, earlier today when I came home, he told me he would go out with Anna.

I change my clothes and went to the bed. I turned off the sound of my phone and surprisingly fell asleep quite quickly.

The next day the alarm woke me up. It was 7 AM, I put on my sports team, put on my sneakers and as I went every morning to run. When I came back I found Alex in the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

"Hey kid, you look terrible what happened?" He asked, turning off the hot plate.

"Hey, that's a long and crazy story," I said, and sat down at one of the bar-chairs. He sat next to me, and I told him everything that happened at dinner.

"That's really ... crazy." He embraced me in a "bear hug".

After I let go, I went to my room, washed myself, got dressed and got my phone. I had many missed calls from my parents and even from Reed Carter. When I walked into the kitchen, Anna and Alex were already having breakfast, sitting at the bar and having breakfast together, then went out to work.

The day was busy and I was happy about that because I didn't have time to think about last night. About noon I decided to finally accept one of my parents many calls to tell them I need time, but they insisted on meeting tomorrow at noon.

Now I got out of work and went to my car when I heard someone call me.

"Mia" I didn't turn around because I knew who is it "Mia, why are you running away from me?"

"I'm don't running away from you Mr. Carter, I'm going to my car," I said with my business tone.

"I know that what happened yesterday is strange and ... and startling, but maybe we can discuss it at dinner ?"

"I don't think that's okay, you're my boss's boss." That was a stupid argument.

"I understand why you act like that, but give me a chance to explain you."

"I ... I have to go home." I said, and continued toward my car.

"I'll send you a message with the time and place," he told me.

I didn't answer, just getting into the car and getting home. As I cleaned up at home, I got a message from Reed, writing about where and when she wanted to meet. I was staring at the message and had no idea what to do.

"Will you go?" Alex ask me. "It's a very expensive restaurant and he own it."

"I don't know ... and how do you know he ownthe restaurant ?"

"I am a financial manager in his company, so I know such things. Well, will you go ?"

"He said he would be waiting for me there would be rude if I did not go, and yesterday too, I was rude to leave. All day I felt awful about it."

"Well, let us choose your clothes then. I'll take you and then call me when you want to pick you up."

"I can go with my car," I said

"No, you can't."

I chose my clothes and dressed up then I put some makeup and we go. When we got to the restaurant, Alex stopped me before I went downstairs of the car.

"If you want to go just call me."

"All right."

When I went into the restaurant and saw him, I took a deep breath as if to gain more power and went to him.

"Mia, you came." He was surprised "Sit" he said, pulling my chair.

"It would be rude, if I don't come, especially after yesterday." I said incredulously "Please pass on my apologies to your parents."

"I would give them to you, but don't worry, they understand you completely."

"Well, let's talk, essentially" I said, shrugging.

"Okay" I had a feeling he was going to say something but he didn't finish because he was interrupted by the waiter.

Reed ordered both of us and told me everything. How did his father propose to make a business deal with my parents if I married Reed or would terminate their partnership if I refused.

I could have refused, but that would probably ruin my parents business, which was terrible. After Reed finished his story, there was a grave silence on the table.

"Please tell me something because your silence is killing me."

" I ... I have no idea what to say, this is important for my parents and I have to make that decision." I felt like I was going to faint "I think I will leave if you don't have against ".

"I can drive you if you're not with your car."

"No, I'm not, but I'll call a friend to pick me up."

"I'll drive you" he insist.

Reed paid the bill and led me to his car despite my objections.

In the end,he drove me home, all the way no one said anything. When he stopped in front of the building I lived in, he grabbed my arm, making me look at him.

"If you still accept, I'll be glad."

"I need time to think about all this." then I thought about a question I want to know the answer "How old are you?"

"At 33. Is this a problem?"

"No, I just want to know. And why did you agree so easily, we don't even know each other?"

"I didn't think about it, you're just different."

"Aha ...." I answered, looking embarrassed "Good night, Reed."

"Good night, Mia."

When I went into the apartment I saw Alex and Anna fell asleep in front of the TV, so I was as quiet as possible. I wanted to talk to Alex, but that could wait. When I went to bed I couldn't stop thinking about those two days.
