Selena Alexandra [younger]
Mom, Dad? I’m back from school—
The words hadn't even fully left her lips before the stench of the house choked them out.
Stepping into the living room felt like wading through a dumpster. The space was a battlefield of filth, a chaotic wreckage that no ten-year-old should ever have to call H-O-M-E.
Clothes lay discarded on the floor like rotting skins. Then came the sound.
That wet, rhythmic wailing echoing from the sofa. It was the kind of noise that didn't just hurt the ears; it stained the soul.
She watched them. Two shadows tangled in a mindless, carnal struggle. That image didn't just linger; it took root in her mind like a parasite.
,
,
Selena’s Mother: Mnh—...ah! Faster, daddy... ah!
Her head thrashed back, eyes rolled up until only the sickening whites remained.
,
,
Stepdad: Whatever you want, honey~
His voice was a guttural rasp, his pace accelerating into something frantic and ugly.
Selena turned away, her feet moving mechanically toward the attic stairs.
It was a joke, really. Two grown adults, yet they chose the public display of the sofa over the privacy of a bedroom. Calling it a disgusting sight was a pathetic understatement.
Thud.
She let her backpack fall.
The fabric was a map of hate, covered in cruel doodles and jagged tears that told stories of a different kind of hell at school. She placed it carefully on the desk, a piece of rotting wood that seemed to be held together by prayers alone.
Selena collapsed onto the mattress, her eyelids heavy with a exhaustion that went deeper than bone. Her bed was little more than a pile of dried straw stacked on a wooden plank.
It was pathetic, but the sharp prickle of the hay was still infinitely more merciful than the soul-chilling touch of the bare floor.
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Hah...
A sigh that sounded like a dying breath.
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
My sister... tell me, when will we find each other again?
Her fingers danced over the hair clip, her only tether to a world that didn't smell like decay.
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Ugh! It’s all her fault. That miserable b*tch!
A sob caught in her throat, sharp as glass, as the venom finally overflowed.

002: its own limit.

Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Hic... a.. hic hic—
Knock. Knock.
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Come in, Mom.
She choked back her sobs, swallowing the salt and the grief as she whispered to the shadow behind the door.
The latch clicked. The door swung shut. The lock engaged with a finality that made her heart stop.
But the figure standing there wasn't her mother. It was the man who, moments ago, had been tangled in that wretched display on the sofa.
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Da— Dad...?
,
,
Stepdad: Sweetheart. We didn't finish our ‘work’ yesterday, did we?
A distorted grin stretched across his face as he pinned her small frame against the straw mattress.
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
No... stop it! Dad, please!
Her scream was raw, a desperate plea lost in the torrent of fresh tears.
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Selena Alexandra [younger]
Hic... AAAAAA!!!
That blood-curdling shriek tore through the crumbling house on the edge of the Forbidden Woods, yet it found no ears to hear. Her ‘beloved’ mother had already grabbed her purse and vanished after her little session, leaving her child alone with that vile, predatory monster.
If home was a living hell, school was merely another circle of the same fire.
.
.
Classmate 1: Hahaha! This is what you get for tryna be the smartest in the room!
The sound of her notebooks being shredded was like skin peeling away; sharp, dry, and irreversible.
Selena’s small hands balled into fists, her knuckles white enough to burst.
She had trained. She knew how to strike. But as she lunged forward, a heavy boot slammed into her ribs, pinning her before she could even breathe.
.
.
Classmate 2: HAHA! What’s the point of those martial arts classes anyway? You’re still nothing but a rug for me to step on.
The bully’s heel ground into her stomach with a sickening pressure. Selena thrashed, her fingers clawing at the dirty floorboards, nails snapping as she tried to find purchase.
She managed to sink her teeth into a stray ankle, tasting copper and grime, but the only reward was a backhanded blow that sent her world spinning into a blurred mess of gray.
She fought. God, how she fought. Every muscle in her tiny body screamed to rebel, to tear these vultures apart. But for every strike she threw, ten more came back, heavier and more hateful.
Her resistance didn't save her; it only fueled their sadistic hunger. It was a rebellion of a puppet whose strings were being snapped one by one.
There wasn't a single day of peace. Not one.
Selena’s life was a downward spiral into a black hole of despair. Her grades withered. Her spirit broke. The light in her eyes had long since been extinguished, replaced by a hollow, aching void.
But human endurance has a breaking point, and she WAS NO exception.
