Seven Minutes In Heaven
Chapter 1
The lecture hall buzzed with the usual chatter of first-day nerves and overconfident second-years.
Jungkook stepped in carefully, his backpack slung over one shoulder, scanning the sea of faces.
He was new here—first-year, fresh-faced, and quietly confident. His dark hair fell perfectly into place, his features delicate, almost too perfect for someone who wasn’t used to being the center of attention.
At the front, the professor cleared his throat, adjusting his glasses.
Professor
“Class, meet your newest student—Jeon Jungkook. He’s joined our program this semester,"
Professor
"and I have to say, his recommendations and test scores are exceptional. Naturally talented, quick to grasp concepts…"
Professor
"I expect you all to give him a warm welcome.”
A few scattered claps followed, but most eyes were already wandering. Except one pair.
Taehyung, seated halfway back, leaned slightly on the desk, chin in hand,
The perfect picture of casual superiority.
His sharp jawline, messy dark hair, and smoldering gaze made it painfully obvious why half the girls in campus whispered about him. He rolled his eyes, clearly unimpressed.
Taehyung
“Naturally talented,”
He muttered under his breath.
Jungkook, unfazed by the stares, found the empty seat in front of Taehyung.
It wasn’t intentional—just the closest one available.
He slung his bag onto the chair, noting the tall, silent figure behind him.
Taehyung’s eyes flicked to him once, the briefest moment of interest, before returning to the notes in front of him.
Professor
“Alright, let’s get started,”
Professor
“I want everyone to answer the first question on the board. Jungkook, since you’re new, why don’t you go first?”
Jungkook blinked once, then smiled politely.
Before Taehyung could even lift his pen, Jungkook’s hand shot up.
Jungkook
“The solution is to integrate by parts,”
He said, voice calm, precise. He wrote quickly, confidently, finishing before most of the class had processed the question.
Taehyung’s jaw tightened. He hated it when someone moved faster than him, and right now, this newcomer had just stolen the spotlight effortlessly.
He muttered, frowning, before scribbling his answer with a scowl.
The professor leaned over, peering at Jungkook’s work.
Professor
“Excellent. Very thorough, Jungkook. You’re going to do very well here.”
Jungkook’s lips curved into a polite, modest smile, unaware of the storm he had just stirred.
Taehyung slammed his notebook shut with a loud snap.
He muttered, standing abruptly.
The chair scraped loudly against the floor as he stormed out of the lecture hall, leaving a silence that lingered like a threat.
No one dared say anything.
High-tempered Taehyung didn’t just leave in a huff; he burned bridges for anyone who even looked at him the wrong way.
A few students exchanged nervous glances, while Jungkook frowned slightly, tilting his head.
Student I
“Uh… that was… dramatic,”
Jungkook raised an eyebrow and muttered under his breath, a small smirk tugging at his lips.
His own words were barely audible, but they somehow carried a dangerous innocence—a challenge without realizing it.
The professor cleared his throat, ignoring the tension.
Professor
“Right… let’s move on.”
Jungkook leaned back slightly, scanning the empty space where Taehyung had been.
His lips twitched into a small, curious smile. He had no idea that the guy he had just offended was someone people both feared and admired.
A heartthrob with a reputation that could intimidate a room.
And from the looks he had caught earlier, Taehyung didn’t forget. Not ever.
A classmate nudged Jungkook lightly.
student II
“You… really just called him a jerk?”
Jungkook replied without hesitation.
Jungkook
“He was being one.”
The boy swallowed nervously, eyes flicking to the door where Taehyung had disappeared.
student II
“He… he doesn’t take that kind of thing lightly.”
Jungkook tilted his head, curiosity sparkling in his eyes.
From the hallway, Taehyung paused, glancing back through the glass window of the lecture hall.
His lips curved into a slow, almost predatory smile, eyes narrowing slightly. He had noticed the comment.
And the way Jungkook had said it… bold, unbothered, completely unaware of the chaos he had just unleashed.
By the time the next lecture started, the rumor had already begun to spread.
“Jungkook called Taehyung a jerk.”
And that was how it started—the collision of two very different worlds.
One, a dangerously handsome second-year, feared and admired in equal measure.
The other, a stunningly beautiful first-year, confident enough to provoke him on the very first day.

Chapter 2
Jungkook stepped onto campus the next morning, adjusting his backpack nervously.
The sun was bright, and the chatter of students filled the courtyard, but he felt… uneasy.
Yesterday had been intense, yes, but he hadn’t expected it to follow him here.
The voice was rough, confident. A tall boy with messy black hair and sharp features strode up, grabbing Jungkook’s backpack strap and yanking him back.
Jungkook stumbled but caught himself, glaring.
???
“You know, calling Taehyung a jerk? Not smart.”
The boy smirked, his eyes glinting with mischief.
Hyunjin
“I’m Hyunjin, by the way. Taehyung’s… friend.”
Jungkook straightened, trying to keep his voice calm despite the rising panic.
Jungkook
“I didn’t mean anything by it. He left the class. I just—”
Hyunjin interrupted, leaning closer.
Hyunjin
“You think you can just insult the top guy in this department and get away with it?”
Before Jungkook could respond, another boy appeared from the side,
Tall, broad-shouldered, with a smirk that promised trouble.
???
“You’re lucky he’s late. Otherwise, you’d be in real trouble, newbie.”
Jungkook’s stomach tightened.
Jungkook
" Ididn’t do anything wrong. Just... let me go.”
Another boy, even taller, reached down and grabbed a handful of Jungkook’s soft hair, tugging it gently but painfully.
???
“What’s the matter? Can’t handle a little attention?”
Jungkook yelped and tugged back, trying to free himself.
Jungkook
“Stop it! That hurts!”
Hyunjin leaned in, face dangerously close.
Jungkook
“You think you’re cute enough to talk back to him? To Taehyung?”
Jungkook
“I… I never meant to—”
Hyunjin
“Never meant to? You called him a jerk! That’s not exactly… respectful.”
Another boy stepped forward, pushing Jungkook slightly.
Jungkook’s breaths came fast, panic rising.
Jungkook
“I… I didn’t know him! I just…”
The courtyard suddenly seemed too big, too empty, and yet too full of threats.
And then… he noticed him.
Standing a few meters away, arms crossed, leaning against a wall.
His gaze was fixed on Jungkook and the group surrounding him.
Jungkook froze, eyes narrowing.
Jungkook
💭 Why isn’t he stopping this?
Jungkook shouted, trying to catch Taehyung’s attention.
Jungkook
“Stop! Tell them to stop! Why are you doing this?”
Taehyung’s lips curved into a slow, unreadable smile.
Jungkook’s stomach twisted.
Jungkook
“You… you set this up, didn’t you?”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow.
Jungkook
“Don’t lie to me!”
Jungkook snapped, voice shaking.
Jungkook
“You’re the one who got them to— look at them! They’re hurting me because of you!”
Taehyung’s eyes flicked to Hyunjin and the others,
Then back at Jungkook. His smile deepened, and his tone was lazy but sharp.
Taehyung
“They’re just… keeping me entertained.”
Jungkook’s mouth went dry.
Jungkook
“Enter… entertained!? You’re enjoying this?!”
Taehyung tilted his head, hair falling slightly over his eyes.
Taehyung
“Not exactly enjoying… just observing.”
Hyunjin chuckled beside him.
Hyunjin
“Looks like the jerk’s scared now.”
Jungkook’s hands curled into fists around the straps of his backpack.
Jungkook
“I am not scared!”
One of the boys shoved him lightly.
Hyunjin
“Then why are you shaking?”
Jungkook’s glare burned through them all.
Jungkook
“Because—because you’re bullies!”
Taehyung’s voice cut through the tension, calm and chilling.
Taehyung
“You think you can just call me names and get away with it. And then act innocent when others react?”
Jungkook swallowed hard, heart pounding.
Jungkook
“I didn’t ask for this! I didn’t—”
Taehyung stepped forward slowly, and just the motion of him made the other boys freeze.
He didn’t need to raise his voice; his presence was enough.
Taehyung
“You’ve made a lot of assumptions about me, new kid."
Taehyung
"That’s… interesting. I think I’ll keep watching how you handle yourself.”
Jungkook
“Watching? You… you’re not going to stop them?”
Taehyung’s lips twitched.
Taehyung
“Not yet. You called me a jerk first.”
Jungkook
“I… I didn’t think—”
The boys around him exchanged nervous glances, unsure whether to intervene or not.
Taehyung’s reputation made it clear: he didn’t tolerate weakness, and he didn’t forgive easily.
Finally, with a wave of his hand, Taehyung turned on his heel, walking away without another word.
The boys scattered immediately, leaving Jungkook standing alone in the courtyard, clutching his bag and trying to calm his shaking hands.
Hyunjin lingered a step behind.
Hyunjin
“Don’t think this is over, newbie.”
Jungkook’s gaze followed Taehyung’s retreating figure, anger and confusion mixing in a tight knot in his chest.
“He… he made them do that, didn’t he?” he muttered under his breath.
And in the distance, Taehyung glanced back once,
His expression unreadable, lips curving into a faint smirk that promised the game was only just beginning.
Jungkook’s heart pounded. This guy… he’s dangerous. And he’s going to be impossible to ignore.

Chapter 3
Jungkook slid into his usual seat, head bowed slightly as he brushed his fingers through his hair.
A few strands had ripped out earlier, and the soft tug still stung a little. He tucked the remaining hair behind his ear, trying not to think about it.
From the corner of his eye, he noticed Taehyung leaning against the wall at the back of the lecture hall, arms crossed.
His gaze was sharp, unreadable, but lingering. Jungkook quickly looked away, pretending not to notice.
A cheerful voice broke his thoughts.
Student I
“Hey, are you okay?”
The girl next to him leaned over.
Student I
“I saw what happened earlier… that was mean of them.”
Jungkook replied softly, glancing down at his notebook.
Another student, a boy with glasses, nudged him.
student II
“Don’t let Hyunjin and the others get to you. You handled yourself yesterday… well, mostly.”
Jungkook offered a small, polite smile.
Jungkook
“Thanks. I just… want to focus on class.”
The lecture hall filled with low murmurs as students settled in. At the front, the professor cleared his throat.
Professor
“Let’s continue where we left off yesterday. I’ll call on a few students for the first question.”
Jungkook felt a small bead of anxiety creep in—but he pushed it down, reminding himself he had nothing to fear in class.
One after another...it was Jungkook's turn to answer.
Professor
“Answer the first question on the board.”
Jungkook straightened, taking a deep breath.
He said, voice calm but steady.
Jungkook
“The correct approach would be to analyze the equation step by step, starting with—”
Before he could finish, Taehyung’s voice cut in from behind.
Taehyung
“That’s… predictable.”
Jungkook froze mid-sentence, eyes narrowing.
Taehyung leaned back in his chair, arms crossed.
Taehyung
“You’re overcomplicating it. There’s a simpler way. But I guess that works too.”
Jungkook tilted his head, lips pressing together.
Jungkook
“Simpler doesn’t mean better. Accuracy matters more than speed.”
A few students giggled quietly, glancing between the two.
???
“Ah, the new kid talks back,”
Taehyung murmured, though his eyes were sharp.
The professor, unaware of the silent war, continued
Professor
“Good points, both of you. Jungkook, please finish your explanation.”
Jungkook nodded, returning to the board.
Jungkook
“So, if we apply this method…”
His hand moved quickly, writing out the steps clearly.
Another student, a girl with wavy hair, whispered,
Student I
“Wow… he’s really confident. Not scared at all.”
Jungkook felt a faint blush but ignored it. Confidence was necessary if he wanted to survive here.
He turned back to the class.
The professor nodded, impressed.
Professor
“Excellent, Jungkook. Very thorough.”
Taehyung, meanwhile, scowled, tapping his pen impatiently.
Taehyung
“Hmph. Thorough, sure. But too slow for my taste.”
???
“You’re jealous, Taehyung.”
Taehyung’s eyes flicked to him, dangerous and cold.
Professor
“Next question,”
“Taehyung, your turn.”
Taehyung smirked lightly, scribbling an answer with swift, precise movements.
He said, sliding the paper forward.
The professor glanced over it.
Professor
“Also correct. Well done.”
Jungkook glanced at the paper, then back at Taehyung.
Jungkook
“Your answer is… elegant, I’ll give you that.”
Taehyung raised an eyebrow.
Taehyung
“You think I need your approval?”
A few classmates exchanged shocked glances.
???
“They’re going to kill each other,”
The professor cleared his throat, shaking his head.
Professor
“Jungkook, please focus. Taehyung, pay attention as well.”
Jungkook
“Yes, professor,”
Taehyung
"Yes, professor,"
They chorused, but their silent battle continued, full of sharp looks, subtle smirks, and unspoken challenges.
During a break, a small group of students approached Jungkook.
???
“Don’t let them intimidate you,”
The girl with the ponytail said again.
???
“You handled that really well.”
Jungkook
“I’m just… trying to survive first day chaos.”
The boy with glasses chuckled.
???
“Chaos? Wait until Taehyung decides he wants to play a little… game with you.”
Jungkook’s heart skipped.
Student I
“Just… be careful. He’s not someone to underestimate.”
Jungkook smirked faintly, fingers brushing his hair again.
Jungkook
“Underestimate? That’s the last thing I’ll do.”
