One
A gloomy night, with a crescent moon, barely illuminating the serene nature that resides beneath it
in amidst a forest, goes down a lonely highway
it's the only route that connects the remote town to the mainstream city
It's late at night. a quiet, almost eerie silence stretches across acres of jungle
As mother nature swaddles its darling child in the pale moonlight
A man walks across the wide highway to get to the other side of the forest
but a car races down that path at full speed
The headlight flashes blinding lights as it approaches the young man
I was frozen like deer in headlights as I saw the car coming towards me
My instinct told me to move out the way immediately
but I didn't even bother to flinch
my heart screamed, I could hear it pounding in my chest
but I felt so welcomed by the embrace of death
My insides are hollowed, only ashes of what was once a lively soul, remain

I closed my eyes, shutting out the blinding lights

My heart ached, I could hardly breathe. I gasped for air
