(He leaves. Elena sighs.)

He’s in a mood again.
Ryan
(grins) When is he not?

Focus. We need to find out why there’s no blood, no signs of struggle.
Ryan
Maybe the killer’s a ghost.
Julian Carter
(half-smiling) Or someone who moves like one.
(Outside the building, a shadow watches them quietly. Red eyes glow faintly in the dark — Damian Cross watches, unseen.)

(thinking) Careful, detective. You’re stepping into my world.
