THE NIGHT SHIFT
[Scene: Elara’s Clinic, 3:00 AM. It’s dark, empty. She’s alone on night shift because the other nurses ditched her.]
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
Elara (thinking): Great… bullied into night shift again.
Elara (thinking): Just me and the sleepy guard outside. Perfect.

Elara: What was that?!
💥 [Sudden loud bang at the door]
💀 [Two men burst in, dragging a tall man bleeding badly.]
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
Elara: H-Hey! This is a clinic, not a crime scene!
Body guard 1
Shut up and fix him. Now
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
He’s losing too much blood… I need space!
Body guard 1

Elara (thinking): Who are these people?!
She rushes to treat the injured man. His shirt is soaked red, his face pale, but even unconscious he looks… dangerous.

💥 [Gunshot. The injured man wakes, grabs a pistol, and shoots the “guard” at the door without hesitation.]

You killed him… in my clinic?!
Injured man
Be grateful it wasn’t you.
More men rush in, weapons ready. Elara’s trembling but steps forward anyway.
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
Y-You can’t leave this body here. I just moved in, I’m not cleaning up your mess.
Injured man
Take the body. She doesn’t want it here.
The men drag the corpse out. Elara locks the door as soon as they’re gone. Her knees give way, heart racing.
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
Elara (thinking): What the hell did I just witness?!
She rushes to the front. The night guard is on the floor. She shakes him violently.
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
Are you dead too?!
Guard
snoring …mmm five more minutes.
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
…You’ve GOT to be kidding me.
She slams the door shut again. Her hands are shaking, but her mind won’t stop replaying the man’s cold eyes, the way he ordered them like a king.
Elara (FL (the doctor, main female lead)
Elara (thinking): Who was he? And why did fate drag him into my clinic tonight of all nights?
