Dead Night: Bittersweet Taste Called Revenge
Orphanage
*It's a sunny sunday afternoon. The mass has just ended and the kids are allowed to play outside after another exhausting day. The grass swayed along with the breeze, the smell of freshly baked bread filled the place.*
Tomb
"Guys, come on! Let's go up that hill!" *Tomb exclaimed while running. A big smile etched on his face*
Deer
"I-I don't think Madame Crown allowed us to go that far... She warned us to stay near the chapel..." *Deer, the ever so shy and timid boy said. His glasses framing his rather small face*
Cobra
"Up that hill?! Are you serious? I don't want to! There's probably a lot of mosquitoes in there and I could not risk my skin to get red spots. And who knows? There could be wild animals!" *For Cobra, looks & intelligence matters the most. It raises the percentage of being picked*
Scythe
"Cobra is right, Tomb. It's dangerous. And we know better than to defy Madame's orders. How about we just take a look at it from here? Or if you're aiming for the scenery, a little climb on the tree and you'd get the same view" *Scythe offered, hoping to convince Tomb's rebellious personality. Being a year older than the three of them, automatically gives her the duty of looking after her friends*
Tomb
"You guys are no fun as expected... But I'll try climbing up the tree to save you guys the trouble hehe" *He ran towards the towering oak tree and began to expertly climb on it.*
Cobra
*She sighed dramatically and shakes her head* "Tsk tsk tsk, kids like you is an easy target for anyone! Imagine what would happen if a stranger comes up and offered you a piece of candy. I bet you would immediately accept it and go with them right away. You and your bean sized brain won't make it far" *She laughed smugly*
Tomb
*Tomb smirked at her from above* "We both know that I scored the highest at the quiz last time between the two of us. I might not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but compared to you, I honestly think I'm better"
Cobra
*She sneered at his remarks. Obviously starting to get annoyed* "You scored 2 points more than me because it just so happen that you're beside Scythe that time"
Tomb
*He scoffed* "What? You think I cheated? That's pathetic! Is this your last resort? Accusing me of something that I didn't do?"
Cobra
"Bold of you to assume that I "think" you cheated. I know! Scythe, please tell that disheveled kid to learn and try to accept the truth instead of denying it. The heaven sees all you know? Have you no shame?" *She crossed her arms and walked away*
Deer
*Deer is torn between which side to take. He hates when this happens. Just as he was about to say something, Scythe gave him a reassuring look. This gave him a signal to go after Cobra while Scythe, stayed.* "Cobra, wait for me!"
Tomb
*He clicked his tongue and climbed down before jumping on the ground with a soft thud.* "Who is she to talk like that? I swear I didn't cheat off of your paper, Scythe. I really did read the book the night before"
Scythe
*She smiled gently and gently pat his head, dusting off the leaves that are stuck* "You don't have to explain yourself to me. I believe you. Cobra, well she... you know she can be a bit daring sometimes."
Tomb
"I don't get why she hates me. I never did anything wrong to her. Can't she notice my feelings? Or am I just bad at showing it?" *He left out a big sigh*
Scythe
"I doubt she has an idea. Both of you are helpless..."
*Meanwhile on Cobra's and Deer's side, they're walking on a hallway. Yet, Deer struggles to keep up*
Deer
"C-cobra! Can you walk slower? You're walking too fast"
Cobra
*Her mind is still filled with the image of the annoying Raven haired boy when she heard Deer's plea. She came to a full stop and turned to face him. Her arms still crossed*
Deer
*He is gasping for breath for a few seconds. Once his breathing is stable, he looked at the waiting Cobra* "Why did you do that? He might find it offensive"
Cobra
"Are you here just to scold me? Forget it! I'm leaving" *She turned her heels, prepared to walk away again*
Deer
"W-wait! I'm sorry, I'm not here to scold you, okay?"
Cobra
*Once again, she turned around* "So what? Why are you here chasing after me?"
Deer
*He scratched his head and thought for a moment* "Hhmm... For moral support?"
Cobra
*She rolled her eyes at him and walked towards the bench. She sat there before inviting Deer beside her. It was silent for a few seconds* "I want to say sorry to Tomb. Do you think he'll forgive me?"
Deer
*He sat beside her and gave her a comforting pat on her back* "I'm sure he will. Tomb isn't the kind of person to sow seeds of anger. You just have to politely apologize"
Cobra
*She sighed and leaned her back against the bench* "It's just so hard for me to- you know... Express what I feel. I hope Tomb doesn't hate me or anything..."
Cobra
*Cobra suddenly stood up from her seat* "B-but it's not like I like him! No I do like him but as a friend! As a friend! Don't get any other ideas okay?" *She frantically explained herself with a flushed expression*
Deer
*Deer giggled and nodded* "Sure you don't"
