The Crimson Moon hung low over Aravelle, casting a sickly red glow across the castle walls. Smoke rose in twisting columns from the gates as screams echoed through the corridors

Princess...something's wrong! The guards...t-they are screaming 😰

*gritted her teeth* stay close to me, Eira. Don't let go of my hand.
A deafening clash of metal and shouting reverberated through the halls. The scent of fire and blood filled the air

The army...it's inside! what do we do now?!!
Elora Onassis
we will run. Fast. No hesitations. Just.. just trust me ok? *said softly*
Elora's hands gripped a dagger tightly. she yanked Eira along as they ran, dodging falling beams and panicked courtiers. The castle seemed to crumble around them

Oof! princess, I almost tripped over- ahh!

watch your feet! Every second countes!!
They reached the armory, but most of the weapons had been taken or destroyed. Only a handful of daggers remained

Great... we're basically unarmed *sighed dramatically*
Elora Onassis
Not completely. Take these *point at the daggers in front of them*. And stay sharp, alerted and focused.
An invanding soldier rounded the corner. Elora hurled a dagger with perfect aim. The man yelped and fell, clutching his shoulder.

Woah! ..... Did you just- killed him??
Elora Onassis
He would have killed us if I didn't. Now move!
They dashed to the stables. Horses snorted and kicked wildly, sensing the chaos. Elora quickly chose a black stallion

How do you even know which one?!!
Elora Onassis
Strong, fast...steady. Trust me.
Eira struggled to mount/climb, slipping multiple times.

Hold still! On my count- one... two... three! jump!
Eira Floris
*Grumbling* this... this is ridiculous! 😤
The horses bolted into the dark forest, ears pinned back, hooves thundering against the earth. Arrows whistled past them from the castle ramparts.

Princess lora... i- i think we're being followed!
Elora Onassis
Then we won't stop. Not even for a second *trying to stay calm and composed but scared*
The forest was dense. Moonlight barely penetrated the thick canopy, making every shadow twist unnaturally.

How do we even see where we're going?!
Elora Onassis
Listen watch my feet. Watch my feet. Stay behind me and don't stumble.
Branches whipped across their faces. Eira screamed every time a twig struck her arm.

ow! ouch! stoppp!

Keeping moving!! pain won't save you!
They came to a fallen log over a stream. Eira froze, terrified.

I.... I can't *shaked her head as no*

Yes, you can! Grab my hand ok? Ready? one.. two... three!! jumpppppp
They leaped together. Eira nearly fell into the cold water but Elora caught her just in time.
Eira Floris
*Panting* I hate you... a little
Elora Onassis
*smirked* Healthy. Now move you dumbo!
Hours passed. The forest thickened, and every sound- snapping twig, rustling bush- made them flinch.
Eira Floris
My legs.. I can't 😖

Push through. A little further. We'll find somewhere to hide, I promise.
They stumbled upon a hollowed grove. An abandoned cabin stood in the shadows. Elora quickly barricaded the door with fallen branches laying near.

Finally... somewhere to breathe *about to take a long breathe and relax her shoulders*
Elora Onassis
Lightly. Someone could still be out there...
Inside, Eira munched on dried rations, trying to lighten the mood

Princess we make a.... pretty good team

*smiling faintly* For now, yes. Just... stay quiet
Outside, the forest seemed alive. Shadows twisted. Every creak of a branch made them tense.

This... this place is creepy *looking around*

Focus. Keep your senses sharp and on alert. Someone could be nearby and we don't know much about this... abandoned place and forest area
They rested briefly, catching their breath. The sounds of chaos faded into the distance, but the red glow of moon reminded them the danger was far from over

Princess lora.... do you think.. will anyone else have survived?
Elora Onassis
I don't know. I only know we have to survive, no matter what.
The cabin was small and drafty. They huddled together for warmth, exhaustion weighing heavily on them.

I don't even know... how much longer I can go on.....
Elora Onassis
We'll manage. One step at a time. Survive tonight, survive tomorrow.
The crimson moon shone through the broken roof, bathing them in eerie red light.

Princess.....did you ever think that maybe this is a..punishment?
Elora Onassis
Maybe. Or maybe it's just life testing us. Either way... we won't fail.
Outside, distant howls echoed. Something moved unseen among the trees.

*Shivered* p-princess.... what was tha-that?
Elora Onassis
*Quietly* I don't know... we can't stay here forever. Tomorrow, we keep moving.
They fell into a restless, uneasy sleep. The cabin creaked. The forest whispered. For now, they survived, but the journey was only beginning.
The wind picked up, carrying a strange scent- something alive, watching, and closing in. The night was far from over....
