𝟷. Prologue
It was 6 am in the morning, but the mansion was bustling with activity because...
Their son was returning back to Islamabad, Pakistan, from New York
A woman, in her early-40s shouted orders in the grand kitchen of the mansion.
Yasmin Abbas
"Yes, and for the dessert, let's do Gulaab Jamun. Ahmed really like those" she said to the head chef who nodded in response
Then a male figure walked in the kitchen, smiling ear to ear.
Abbas
"I see, you're going overboard for our son,"
Yasmin Abbas
"of course I would. He's returning after 8 years. The walls of this mansion haven't seen happiness in those years" she sighed looking down.
Abbas
He moved forward, engulfing her in his arms, “Yasmin, let's not talk about past anymore. Our son is returning, he'll bring happiness with him. And our daughter is also getting married soon InshaAllah”
Yasmin nodded and they both comforted each other
But what they didn't know was.... how the past will resurface when Ahmed returns.
A woman in her 20s was running down the path to the garden. A big smile on her face as she looked for her best friend/cousin.
Aliya
"Noor! Noor, where are you?"
Noor
"I'm here, Aliya. Why are you shouting this early in the morning?" she called from where she was sitting on the bench. Squirrels moving around her as she fed them nuts
Aliya
Hurried towards her, "Guess who's coming???" she said with a bright smile on her face,
Noor
"Whoo?" 👀 she raised her eyebrows,
Aliya
"AHMEEDDD" she screamed
Noor
The smile disappeared from her face, "...oh"
Aliya
“Oh? That's all? He's your fiancé, Noor"
Noor
"Don't call him that" she turned back to the squirrels
Aliya
Sighed, "You're still engaged"
Aliya frowned. She didn't know what happened 8 years ago but her brother and her cousin had drifted apart. She decided to leave Noor alone.
Aliya
Walked back to the Mansion.
Noor
*He's coming back home.
But for me, home stopped feeling safe the day he left*

Introduction to Characters

I'll give a brief introduction of the story and my characters
This story is set in Islamabad, Pakistan
It's about the well-known family “Raees Khandan"
They run a very widespread business named “RK Furnitures"
Abdur Rehman Raees Khan is the head of the family also known as Dada (Grandfather)
He has four children, 3 sons and a daughter. His wife died in a plane crash many years back
I'll introduce his sons first
The Eldest, Zulfiqar Raees Khan
The Middle son, Abbas Raees Khan
The youngest son, Rauf Raees Khan
And a daughter, youngest of all siblings, Asma Rehman
She's divorced hence lives in the mansion with everyone
Now onto their families. First Zulfiqar's family:
His wife is Anum, and they have an only child, Noor
Noor
You already know me. (she's 22 now)
Then Abbas's family. His wife is Yasmin and they have two children. First is Ahmed and Second in Aliya
Then at last Rauf's family, his wife left him. He has a son Bilal
Another character, Aliya's fiancé/soon to be husband is Ali. Ali used to be her classmate in university and they fell in love

Also I WON'T be writing any smut. There'll be intimacy and tension but nothing too graphic or extreme.
