William shrugs his shoulders and takes a lift. The crew follows him. It wasn't his choice but his father had stopped paying for his tuition and he needed to do something in order to complete his studies.
Also, the fact that he was never favor doesn't help much. He needed a job and even though he had worked many part-time jobs, this one was the only one that was paying him well and keeping his lifestyle afloat.
His family, if they still acknowledge him, is somewhere in the party. They are usually the center of attention but today, they were just an outcast because just like there is always a bigger fish in the sea, there is always a richer and a more reputed family than his.
The Millers, the name sounds simple but is not. It's not like William knows them well, but he guessed from the panicked expression of his manager that today a big shot was coming.

William, how about you serve the drinks to the main center of attention. You are the bravest among us and when I tell you I don't get good vibes from them, you listen to me!

William takes a deep breath and collects himself. He picks the tray and proceeds to move towards the room everyone was scared from going into. Not everyone knows what his true self is but they sure know what he is capable of.

William tears up a little before shutting his eyes and letting the tears fall. He doesn't want to die but nothing stops him from hurting himself. He doesn't even recognise himself. All he feels is hatred and even he himself is unaware of that fact.
Jonathan gets up from his seat and leaves the room. All he wishes is to find that person who turned his friend into someone he barely recognizes and hurt him exactly the way he hurt his friend.

Jonathan face palms. A defeated laugh leaves his mouth. He had already accepted his defeat. But today, he was sure to at least roll the dice.

Jonathan
It's about Theodore Miller.
William stops on his track. His eyes suddenly seem more focused than before and his pheromones turn slightly sour. Jonathan could feel the suffocation and he didn't refrain himself from speaking his name again.

Don't ask me how I got the news, but guess what, he is coming back.
William
And why would it concern me?

(tries to water down his emotions)

Jonathan seems to know that William had his spirits broken years ago. And how he still hasn't recovered. He might have not known him for long enough, but a few months were enough for him to know that William was someone he needed to help.

Ask me, You guys didn't even serve the main attraction.

I have a shift at the gas station this afternoon.
They headed home. The spring had set in, and the entire city was blooming with flowers. It was the most beautiful scenery William had ever witnessed in his life. Being a true blooded alpha should have had him in the advantage but nothing worked.

Only silence greeted him when he opened the door of his apartment. The rent was due, the bills were pending and so was his tuition fees. But he would make things work, atleast that was what he believed.
Slamming the door shut, he huddled the curtains over the windows and fell on to the bed. Sleep knocked him out before his thoughts could engulf him.
William was occupied in his thoughts when his phone started to buzz. Smashing the half burnt cigerette onto the ash tray, he picks up the call. The other side remained silent for all long as William could remember despite his attempts at interrogation.

William
I can't tell. Could be a spam.
Saying this, William ends the call.

Jonathan

William
Not that you idiot... About Theodore Miller.
Jonathan
I thought you weren't interested.

Jonathan stays silent for a while. Just few hours ago, he refused to have any conversation regarding Theodore Miller and now suddenly he feels the need to ruin his life.

The silence was thickening. Every breath was suffocating but this time William wasn't the one suffering. He was internally on cloud nine watching his father mutter nonsense to his beloved heir about how beneficial it was.

William smiles a little but hides it.

Hmm, certainly better than the previous one.
William knew Martin would be tearing things apart watching him speak about him like he was a criminal with no value. Oh! and he loved it. It brought back remedies to old wounds he never knew needed it.
The conference went on for an hour or two, William felt time passing by in a blink of an eye. Something about this conference felt so right. The flashes weren't stopping. His presence was like a cure to the tarnished image of Thompsons. And his dominant eyes were captivating everyone's attention as if he was the last hope.

Don't grow wings this soon. I'll cut them if they bother me.
William
Right now I am in power and if you dared to cross the like, I'll kill you without even blinking.
William was sly in his approach. Everything about him screamed dominance, power and sheer confidence. But William had no idea what storm was brewing behind his back. The very thing that captured him was going to set him free very soon.
While the conference took its effect on the media and public, there was someone else who had been waiting for this very moment.
