“Shaman X Vampire(Joongdunk)

the blood moon hunt

The forest was too quiet.

Even the wind dared not breathe.

A crimson glow spilled across the sky as the Blood Moon rose — huge, hungry, and heavy enough to drown the stars. The ancient trees of the Eltaran Woods trembled, their shadows twisting like living things.

Joong Anzhar walked ahead of his team, each step steady despite the storm of energy pulsing in the air. His hand tightened around the silver-staff strapped to his back, runes etched along its surface flickering faintly with golden light.

> “The moon’s restless tonight,” murmured Pond Naravit, walking just behind him. “It’s like the forest knows what we’re about to do.”

“Stay focused,” Joong replied, voice calm, though his pulse betrayed him.

This wasn’t his first hunt — but something about this one felt different.

From behind, Gemini adjusted the glowing seals floating around him. “According to the temple’s records, Dunk Virell hasn’t been seen for over a century,” he said quietly. “If he’s still alive… he’s not just any vampire.”

Joong’s expression didn’t change.

He’d heard the stories — of the silver-haired vampire who once loved a shaman and was cursed to eternal hunger. Of a creature said to drink only the blood of the holy.

A monster.

That was all he needed to remember.

The three of them reached the ruins of an old chapel — its roof long collapsed, vines swallowing the stone altar. The air shimmered faintly, thick with blood magic.

And there, in the center, stood a figure bathed in the moon’s light.

White hair. Crimson eyes. A smirk that belonged to someone who had lived far too long and feared nothing.

Dunk Virell.

He turned toward them slowly, voice like silk soaked in sin.

> “So… the temple sends its golden boy.”

“Took you long enough to find me.”

Joong raised his staff, a halo of light forming around him. “Kneel, and I’ll make your end painless.”

Dunk laughed — a sound too human for a monster.

> “And here I thought you’d at least buy me dinner first.”

Before Pond could mutter his usual sarcasm, Dunk moved — faster than wind, a blur of silver and shadow. Joong met him head-on, light colliding with blood. The chapel erupted into chaos.

Every strike was precise — Joong’s chants cutting through the roar of magic. Dunk dodged, spun, and struck with elegance, his movements both violent and beautiful.

“Persistent little saint,” Dunk teased, blocking Joong’s staff with his bare hand. “Do all your kind look this good when they’re angry?”

Joong’s jaw tightened. “Silence.”

He thrust the ritual dagger forward — blessed steel piercing Dunk’s chest.

For a moment, light swallowed everything.

Then the world broke.

The moon flared brighter, red and alive. The seal on the floor shattered, the symbols splitting and crawling up their arms like living fire.

Joong gasped — his veins burned, his pulse doubled — and suddenly, he could feel Dunk’s heartbeat inside his own.

Dunk staggered, clutching his chest, eyes wide with disbelief.

> “What… did you do to me, shaman?”

Joong fell to his knees, gasping. “The spell—it failed—”

A red glow linked them, twisting between their bodies like a thread of molten blood.

Pond rushed forward, shouting Joong’s name, but the two were already bound — their souls echoing with each other’s breath.

Dunk laughed weakly, even as blood dripped from his lips.

> “Bound us? Cute. Now if I die, you die too.”

“Guess that makes us partners… priestling.”

Joong glared, fury and confusion clashing in his chest.

But beneath it, deep and unspoken — was fear. Not of death.

Of what this bond would reveal.

The Blood Moon dimmed overhead. The forest fell silent once again.

And as Joong stared at the vampire bound to his soul, he realized one terrible truth —

This was only the beginning.

"The Bond Between Light and Shadow"

The temple halls had never felt so cold.

Joong walked ahead, his robes dragging against the marble floor. Every echo of his heartbeat was answered by another — not his own.

Behind him, Dunk followed silently, chains of blessed silver wrapped around his wrists. The bonds burned his skin, yet he wore his smirk like armor.

> “You walk too fast, priestling,” he drawled. “Or are you afraid of feeling me close?”

Joong didn’t turn. “You’re lucky I haven’t sealed your mouth shut.”

“Try it,” Dunk murmured, voice low. “See what happens to you, when I can’t breathe.”

The reminder of their cursed connection made Joong falter. The threads of red still glimmered faintly between their wrists — invisible to others, but they could feel it.

A pulse.

A whisper.

A constant reminder that one could not exist without the other.

They reached the ritual chamber, where Gemini and Pond were already waiting. Gemini’s brows furrowed as he studied the faint glow surrounding them.

> “The binding is complete. It’s not a simple soul-link… it’s parasitic. Your energies have fused. If one weakens—”

“We both fall,” Dunk finished, leaning casually against a pillar despite the chains.

His gaze drifted to Joong, who stood still, staring at the floor.

Pond stepped forward, voice tight. “Then we separate them! Now!”

Gemini shook his head. “If I break the link wrong, I could destroy both.”

Silence fell. Only the faint hum of the bond filled the air — a sound only Joong and Dunk could hear.

Joong closed his eyes. “Then we find another way. Keep him contained until—”

> “Until what?” Dunk interrupted, a sharp smile on his lips. “Until you can pretend I don’t make your holy light tremble?”

Joong turned sharply, eyes blazing. “You think this is a game?”

Dunk’s smirk softened, just slightly. “No. I think this is fate.”

The room seemed to shrink — the air heavy, charged. Even Pond took a quiet step back.

Joong took one step forward. Then another. The red thread glowed brighter, vibrating between them like a heartbeat.

> “You’re cursed,” Joong whispered. “You feed on the living. You have no soul.”

“And yet,” Dunk murmured, “you’re bound to mine.”

Their breaths mingled — too close, too dangerous. For a moment, the bond pulsed stronger, a spark running up their arms like fire. Joong felt it — Dunk’s heartbeat, his hunger, his exhaustion, his centuries of loneliness.

And Dunk felt Joong’s — the fear, the purity, the storm beneath his calm.

Neither moved. Neither spoke.

Then Joong broke the connection, turning away before his composure cracked.

“Gemini,” he said quietly. “Prepare the seal. I’ll keep watch tonight.”

Dunk’s eyes followed him — a faint trace of amusement… and something else, softer, hidden deep.

As Joong left the chamber, he could still feel Dunk’s presence like a shadow under his skin. Every step away made his pulse ache.

Outside, the moon hung low, pale and bruised.

Joong looked up, whispering to himself,

> “This bond will be my ruin.”

From inside the chamber, Dunk smiled faintly, whispering the same words.

> “Or your salvation.”

“Whispers of the Blood Bond”

The temple slept under the hush of midnight.

Only the wind moved through its corridors, brushing softly against runed walls and flickering candlelight.

Joong hadn’t slept in two days.

He sat cross-legged inside the Sanctum of Seals, his staff laid before him, golden light tracing symbols across the floor. The air shimmered faintly with wards meant to contain Dunk’s energy — and yet, every time he closed his eyes, he could still feel him.

A heartbeat that wasn’t his.

A whisper that wasn’t his voice.

> “You can’t hide from what’s inside you.”

Joong’s eyes snapped open — breath trembling.

The voice echoed inside his mind, smooth and deep.

“Get out,” he hissed under his breath, tightening his grip on the staff.

> “If I could, I would.”

“But your spell tied us tighter than chains.”

Joong pressed a hand to his chest. The bond pulsed — faint red light flickering beneath his skin. Every beat carried warmth that didn’t belong to him, a steady rhythm that drew him toward the vampire even now.

“Stop talking,” Joong muttered, though his voice lacked conviction.

> “Then stop listening.”

The reply came with a faint trace of laughter — soft, tired, and far too human.

Joong exhaled shakily. “You feed on the living. You destroy everything you touch. Why do you sound…”

> “…lonely?”

Joong froze.

Before he could respond, the sound of breaking glass shattered the silence. The wards around the temple flickered — symbols twisting into smoke.

He rose instantly, staff glowing bright. “Intruders—”

The doors burst open. Shadows spilled in, crawling along the walls like living darkness. Their scent was unmistakable — feral vampires, creatures that had long abandoned reason for hunger.

Joong’s pulse quickened. “How did they breach the seals—”

A growl echoed through the chamber.

Then everything happened at once — claws flashed, the smell of iron filled the air. Joong swung his staff, chanting a warding incantation, light bursting from his fingertips.

But there were too many.

One lunged at him, fangs bared — and before Joong could react, a blur of silver struck it midair.

The creature disintegrated into dust.

And standing amidst the chaos was Dunk — his chains shattered, his eyes burning crimson.

> “You call this ‘keeping watch,’ priestling?” he drawled, his voice half amusement, half warning.

Joong’s eyes widened. “How— the seals—”

> “You were in danger. I felt it.”

He didn’t sound like he was lying.

They fought together — light and shadow intertwining in the glow of broken moonlight. Joong’s chants lit the chamber, Dunk’s movements were impossibly fluid — precise, deadly, almost beautiful.

When the last feral vampire dissolved into dust, silence fell once again.

Joong stood there, breathing hard, staring at Dunk — bloodied, bruised, and yet… protecting him.

“You shouldn’t have been able to break free,” Joong said softly.

Dunk smiled faintly, a drop of blood running down his jaw.

> “Guess the bond wanted me here.”

The words hit deeper than they should have.

Joong stepped closer — hesitant, but unable to stop himself. The red thread pulsed faintly between them, a heartbeat made visible.

> “You risked your life,” Joong said quietly. “Why?”

Dunk looked at him for a long time.

Then, softly —

> “Because yours is mine to lose, too.”

The air grew still. Neither moved.

Joong wanted to speak, to deny what he felt — but the warmth in his chest betrayed him. He could feel Dunk’s heart beating steady, calm, real.

The bond shimmered once more — a faint hum in the silence.

And for the first time, Joong didn’t try to silence it.

Outside, the Blood Moon hid behind clouds — but for one fragile moment, the darkness inside the temple felt less like a curse, and more like a promise.
