Jayden stood at the precipice of existence, gazing out upon the vast expanse of the multiverse. Nine realms stretched before him, each a unique tapestry of reality — threads of light and shadow weaving endlessly across an unseen loom. The fabric of space-time shimmered with infinite possibilities, whispering secrets only he could hear. Stars pulsed like beating hearts, and rivers of cosmic dust curled around him as though alive.
“Where should I start?” Jayden murmured, his voice barely a breath against the celestial winds. The sound vanished, swallowed by the endless hum of creation. For a moment, he hesitated — not out of fear, but because he could feel the weight of what lay ahead. Every choice here would ripple through eternity.
With a mischievous grin, he stepped back from the edge and began to rewind the threads of time. The universe responded, bending to his will. Realities folded like pages of a book, flipping backward through eons until they rested on a single moment — his beginning.
---
In the realm of Avarice, where ancient magic hummed through the very air and crystals pulsed beneath cobblestone streets, the House of Reginald celebrated a joyous occasion. Lanterns of blue flame drifted lazily above the marble halls, their glow painting soft halos on the polished floors. Laughter echoed through the corridors as servants hurried with silver trays and floating goblets.
Sarah cradled her newborn son, Jayden, in her arms. His tiny fingers curled instinctively around hers, and the faint warmth of his presence soothed her exhaustion. His skin glowed faintly, like a drop of sunlight captured in flesh, though she convinced herself it was merely her imagination.
Luke, his father, stood beside her — a tall man with storm-gray eyes and a smile that carried both pride and uncertainty. He brushed a lock of hair from Sarah’s forehead and whispered, “He’s perfect.”
Sarah smiled faintly but said nothing. Deep inside, she remembered the vision — that haunting dream that had visited her during the seventh moon of pregnancy. A star, burning with electric fire, had appeared before her, surrounded by nine shadowed figures. Its light had whispered in tongues she could not understand, then fractured into sparks that vanished into the darkness.
She had never told Luke. How could she? To speak it aloud felt like calling it back into existence.
As the family rejoiced, the heavens above Avarice trembled ever so slightly. Lightning flashed where no storm brewed. Somewhere beyond mortal sight, forces stirred — old powers that had long watched the threads of destiny.
Jayden, still sleeping in his mother’s arms, gave a faint sigh. For an instant, the mark of a shifting sigil flickered on his chest, glowing a soft gold before fading again.
None in the room noticed. None could have known that this fragile child was destined to become the center of a paradox — one that would bend logic itself and redefine the fate of all nine realms.
And so, the multiverse held its breath. The Chosen had arrived.
Jayden had finally turned sixteen. On an ordinary day, that should have been cause for celebration — laughter, cake, and the warmth of family. But today, none of that mattered. His thoughts were fixed on a single thing.
“Today my powers will be activated,” he told himself, staring out the window. “I just hope I get something good.”
Outside, the golden spires of Avarice shimmered beneath the morning sun. Bells chimed across the city as crowds of young initiates and their families made their way toward the grand Activation Center — a towering dome carved from crystal and marble, where the magic of new generations was revealed.
“Jayden!” his mother called from downstairs. “Hurry up, we’ll be late!”
He adjusted his tunic, took one last deep breath, and joined his parents outside. His closest friend, Nadia Samer, was already waiting beside the family’s sleek, rune-carved carriage. Her green eyes sparkled with excitement.
As they rode through the bustling streets, Jayden felt a knot tighten in his chest. He glanced at Nadia, who was smiling far too easily for his liking.
“Why are you getting nervous, huh?” she teased, nudging his arm. “It’s just activation. What’s the worst thing that could happen—”
“Don’t say that!” Jayden interrupted quickly. “You know it brings bad luck. Oh Lord, let me get something good.”
Nadia laughed. “Fine, fine. No bad luck then.”
“Okay, kids, we’re here,” Luke said, his deep voice calm but proud. The carriage stopped before the glowing archway of the Activation Hall, its gates humming with power.
Inside, the vast chamber was filled with radiant light. Hundreds of spectators watched as candidates stepped up one by one to touch the sacred orb of resonance. When Jayden’s turn came, the air seemed to grow still.
His parents, both renowned for their magical research, had paid for the most advanced Magic Revealer — a rare device that not only detected magic type but also measured its potential, from Low to God Level. Whispers rippled through the audience as Jayden approached.
He sat before the orb, its surface swirling with mist. Sarah and Luke stood behind him, each resting a reassuring hand on his shoulders.
The moment his palm touched the orb, lightning cracked through the air. Blue arcs of energy danced across the marble floor. The crowd gasped as the orb glowed brighter — too bright. Sparks erupted. Jayden’s body trembled before everything went white.
Then — shatter!
The orb exploded into glittering fragments, scattering light across the room.
The monitor beside it blinked rapidly before displaying in glowing letters:
Magic Type: Logic Disruption
Power Level: God Level (First Recorded)
For a moment, silence reigned. Then the potential meter kept rising, beeping faster, the readings surpassing every known limit — until the screen went blank.
And then… nothing.
A breathless stillness filled the hall.
Moments later, the crowd erupted into stunned applause. Maria, the ceremony’s overseer, adjusted her glasses, murmuring, “Logic Disruption... I’ve never heard of such magic. I must research this.”
As the applause faded, Sarah’s hands trembled. “What’s happening?” she whispered, watching Luke carry their unconscious son from the stage. Nadia followed close behind, eyes wide with worry.
And so the story of something greater and more powerful than that could ever imagine had begun.
Jaden woke up and sat on the bed trying to realize what happened as he looked around the room.
"This is my room isn't it?" Jayden thought as he stood up from his bed and walked around the room
.
His room was a huge bedroom painted white and brown with ornaments adorning it and as expected of himself, a heap of clothes, books and other stuff lying around the room.
"I remember now I was just getting my powers awakened then." Jayden smiled in excitement.
"Then my powers are....." Jayden's smile dropped as he remembered he had no clue what his powers were.
"Think, think, think you stupid brain". Jayden shouted in frustration as he pulled on his hair.
As Jayden was still throwing a tantrum, pacing around in circles he accidentally looked at himself in the mirror and stopped.
"What the hell?" Jayden whispered to himself as he looked at himself.
"My hair and eyes...it's golden why?"
Jayden's lips curled upward in a slight grin as he realized he looked kind of handsome and thought of how he would charm the girls at school.
As Jayden was still fantasizing about his new life with girls a floating paper entered his room and wanted slowly towards him.
"Marigold is that you?" Jayden questioned as he stared at the floating paper.
The paper wafted slightly up and down as if nodding to his question.
"Thanks." Jayden said as he picked the paper from the air.
Marigold was a fairy that came from his mother's power as her power was the ability to control spirits so there were a few fairies around the house that his mother had tasked with watching over her family.
Both father, daughter and son had a specific fairy always with them but unfortunately they couldn't see them.
Jayden looked at the paper and saw a note written on it in his mother's handwriting
'Hey sweetie it's mum.
Unfortunately due to a mana surge that sometimes happens to people when having their powers activated, which you were a victim of, you fainted midway so we carried you home.
Well you're father did, I was a bit tired and planned to leave you there but that's beside the point.
Your power is logic disruption.
Remember what we discussed about activating it go ahead and try it.
Your father and I had a few things to sort out so we will be back by dinner time
Bye love u'
Jayden finished reading the letter and laughed.
"Okay, let's do this." Jayden mustered to himself as he sat on the bed and folded his legs in a meditating posture.
The purpose of activating a person's mana is for the person to feel the first time explosion and circulation of mana in one's body and controlling it and knowing the name of your ability helps.
"Logic disruption, right." Jayden breathed slowly, in and out concentrating on his mana core, directly below his heart until it happened.
A bright light blinded Jayden for a few seconds.
When he could see again he immediately realized he wasn't in his room.
"Where am I?!" Jayden said with a tint of alarm in his voice as everywhere was pitch black and he couldn't see past a few steps.
"Ohh it's finally that time, you've kept me waiting Jayden". A voice said behind him.
Jayden swiftly turned around at the familiar tone of the voice.
"Who are you?" Jayden questioned quizzically as he slowly walked forward.
"So you don't even know your voice, that's a shame." The voice had a tint of laughter in it.
The voice came closer and Jayden looked to see an almost identical copy of himself but taller and more mature standing in front of him.
"We don't have much time so I'll give a quick explanation. Release your mana and lines will appear all over your body.
The lines are logic and you have the power to break it, so when you want to activate you power say the word 'break' okay."
"What about..." Jayden was about to ask when his older self cut him midway his question.
"Time's up got to go see ya later." His older self said before he faded away and the blinding light obstructed Jayden's vision once more before he found himself in his room.
"What the heck, what kind of explanation is that?" Jayden shouted as he stood up from his bed.
Looking at himself again he saw golden lines linked to each other all around his body.
"What was that thing I was supposed to say again?" Jayden thought as he stretched his body.
"Yeah, that's right, BREAK".
All of a sudden all the lines shattered on his body and a surge of mana was emitted with force and Jayden's eyes started to give off an ethereal glow as his lips curved upward into a small grin.
"I think I'm getting somewhere."
