Crimson Chains
Chapter 1 – The Transaction
[]Scene: Night, Eli’s Apartment – Dark, silent. The sound of rain tapping on the window.]
Narration:
Eli Navarro sat on the edge of his bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. The world felt hollow. Just a week ago, his parents were alive, laughing over breakfast, arguing over trivial things. Now… nothing. Just emptiness and the deafening silence of loss.
His phone vibrated on the wooden floor. A message from Uncle Hector.
Hector(uncle of Eli)
Eli… I need you to listen carefully.
Hector(uncle of Eli)
There’s… a man. You need to meet him. Tonight.
Hector(uncle of Eli)
It’s complicated. Just… trust me. It’s for your future.
Eli’s stomach churned. Something about the message made his blood run cold.
Eli
..💭Trust him? He handed me over once already… I don’t know if I can.
A knock at the door startled him. He glanced at the peephole. A black car sat idling outside, engine whispering. Two men in black suits waited. Silent. Menacing.
Hector(uncle of Eli)
They’ll take you now. Don’t resist.
Eli didn’t. He had no strength left to resist.
[Scene: Black Sedan – Interior]
The ride was silent. Rain splashed against the tinted windows. The two men didn’t speak. Eli tried to memorize every detail: the shine of the leather seats, the faint smell of cigarettes, the low hum of the engine.
Eli
💭Where am I even going? Who is this man?
The car stopped at a tall building, barely lit by the city’s neon glow. A shadow waited at the entrance a man so imposing, so cold, that even the rain seemed afraid to touch him.
Narration:
Dante Moretti. A name that whispered fear even in police circles. Ruthless, untouchable, a man who didn’t need threats; his presence alone was enough.
Eli’s heart pounded. The men opened the car door for him. He stepped out, shivering from cold… and fear.
The words were soft, almost casual but the weight behind them was crushing. Eli followed, barely able to keep his feet moving.
[Scene: Dante’s Office – Dimly lit, the smell of expensive cigars lingering.]
Dante sat behind a massive mahogany desk. One hand rested on the chair arm, the other idly tapping a silver pen. His eyes dark, calculating fixed on Eli.
Dante
So… you’re the boy. Navarro, right?
Dante
Your uncle says… you’re available.
Eli
I-I… I don’t understand…
Dante
He means… you’re his payment. His debt. And now… you belong to me.
Eli
💭Belong to him? What… what does that mean?
Dante
(coldly): Don’t be afraid. I don’t bite… unless I want to.
[][Chat Text Messages – Between Hector and Dante][]
Hector(uncle of Eli)
The boy is here.
Dante
Good. I’ll inspect him first.
Hector(uncle of Eli)
You… won’t hurt him, right?
Dante
I deal in results, Hector. Not feelings.
Narration:
Eli wanted to run. He wanted to scream. But the power in Dante’s gaze paralyzed him. He could feel every secret, every lie, every fear being dissected.
Dante
Your parents… unfortunate accident. I’m aware.
Eli
How… how do you know?!
Dante
Let’s just say… I keep tabs on things that matter.
Eli
(💭): This man… he knows everything. How can anyone be this terrifying?
Dante
Your uncle made a mistake. Giving you away like this. But mistakes… can be corrected.
Eli
I don’t want… I don’t want this!
Dante
[leaning forward, voice low]...You have no choice, boy. You’re mine now. The world… fears me. Even the law. And you? You have nowhere else to go.
[Scene: Dante’s Mansion – Night]
Eli was led through cold marble hallways, each step echoing like a death sentence. Guards flanked every corner, eyes sharp and unblinking. He tried to comprehend the scale of the empire he had just entered.
Eli
(💭): This… this is a fortress. I can’t escape. There’s no way out.
Dante stopped in a private room. Minimalist, elegant, but imposing. A single chair faced him.
Dante
First… understand this. You are not a guest here. You are property. Not in the way you think… but as leverage, as a symbol.
Eli
Property?… I-I don’t understand…
Dante
You will. Soon enough. And if you step out of line… people die. Even those who think themselves untouchable.
Eli
(💭): Why… why am I even alive?
[Chat Log – Dante’s Communication with Mafia Underboss]
Mark(Dante trusted bodyguard)
Are you sure about this, boss? He’s… just a kid.
Dante
He’s mine now...No more questions...understood!
Mark(Dante trusted bodyguard)
understood
Narration:
Eli’s eyes wandered the room. He noticed photos on the wall: city skylines, business deals, sometimes bloodied scenes from operations. The man who owned this world… was untouchable.
Dante finally broke the silence.
Eli
Why me? Why… why not someone else?!
Dante
Debt. Obligation. Opportunity. Call it whatever you want. But… the result is the same. You belong here.
Eli
(💭): Belong here…? Is this hell?
Dante
Don’t bother resisting. Resistance is… painful.
Eli
But I… I don’t even know you!
Mark(Dante trusted bodyguard)
*(smiling faintly, almost imperceptibly)* ..That will change.
[Scene: Dante’s Private Quarters – Night]
Eli was left alone in a sparse room. A bed, a desk, and one window overlooking the city. The rain had stopped, leaving streets gleaming under neon lights.
Eli
(💭): I have no family. No friends. Only him… and fear. I’m trapped. Forever
His phone buzzed. A message from Uncle Hector.
Hector(uncle of Eli)
Hector: You’re safe… for now.
Eli
(💭): Safe…? Safe from what? From him? Or… from the world?
Outside, a door opened. Footsteps. Heavy, deliberate.
Dante
Sleep well… honey. Tomorrow… begins your life.
Eli shivered. Outside the window, the city sparkled, oblivious to the chains he now wore.
Eli
(💭): Tomorrow… tomorrow I begin… dying a little more.
And so, the transaction was complete. An innocent boy handed over to a world of fear, debt, and ruthlessness. A life where his very heartbeat could be claimed, controlled, or destroyed by a man who feared nothing.
**For Eli Navarro, survival was no longer a choice it was a nightmare he had to navigate… under Dante Moretti’s watchful, terrifying gaze.**
Chapter 2 – A World of Fear
[Scene: Morning – Dante’s Mansion, 6:30 a.m.]
Sunlight struggled to enter through the heavy velvet curtains. The air inside Dante Moretti’s mansion was too still, too clean like a place that didn’t allow imperfections.
Eli woke up, still wearing the same clothes from last night. His body ached from anxiety and the stiffness of the unfamiliar room.
A knock echoed. Sharp. Authoritative.
rival 2
The boss wants you downstairs.
[Scene: Dining Hall – Dante seated at the head of a long table.]
Dante wore a crisp black shirt, sleeves rolled up, revealing tattoos like dark vines crawling up his arm. He didn’t look at Eli right away.
Dante
Sit. (he say coldly)
Eli obeyed silently, his palms sweaty.
Dante
You didn’t sleep? I can tell.
Dante
Get used to that. Sleep is a luxury in my world.
A server placed breakfast in front of Eli fresh fruits, bread, coffee but his appetite was gone.
Dante
Eat....Weakness is unacceptable.
Eli hesitated, then forced himself to take a bite.
Eli
(💭): He’s watching everything I do. Even the way I breathe.
📲[Chat Log – Underboss and Dante]
Mark(Dante trusted bodyguard)
Police are asking questions again. About the docks boss!
Dante
Handle it. Pay whoever you needs!
Mark(Dante trusted bodyguard)
Copy boss. The kid’s awake, right?
Mark(Dante trusted bodyguard)
what with that attitude boss??I just ask?!Hahahaha....
Dante
Tskk yeah his awake..and interesting
He hung up the phone without waiting his answer and look at Eli.
The way Dante said “interesting” made Eli uneasy. It wasn’t a compliment it was an evaluation, like one might give to an object of uncertain worth
After breakfast, Dante stood and motioned for Eli to follow him.
They walked through a long corridor lined with portraits generations of Morettis, each face colder than the last.
Dante
Everyone you see here ruled through fear. Power is built on it. Remember that!...
Dante stopped walking. Slowly turned. His eyes darkened.
Eli
I-I just meant… people should respect, not fear—
Dante
Respect is earned by the powerful. Fear is how you keep it.
He stepped closer, voice low but sharp.
Dante
And if you want to survive here, you will learn that quickly.
Eli
(💭): Every word feels like a blade. I’m trapped between danger and silence.
Scene: [Weapons Room – Dante’s Armory]
Dante led him into a room filled with guns, documents, and maps. Eli froze.
Dante
My world. My empire. The reason police don’t touch me.
He picked up a sleek pistol, turning it casually in his hand.
Dante
I’m feared because I built something unbreakable. Everyone cops, rivals, politicians they all take my call.
Dante smirked. And look at him
Dante
Only when necessary. You’ll learn that everything I do has a reason.
Eli
(💭): This isn’t a man. He’s a storm wearing a human face.
[📲Chat Log – Dante and Hector Navarro]
Hector(uncle of Eli)
You got the boy?
Dante
He’s adapting it, slowly.
Hector(uncle of Eli)
Please… don’t hurt him. He’s all I have left of Mr. Dante....
Dante
Then you should have thought of that before you sold him to me and because of ur debt...
Later that afternoon, Dante’s men brought Eli to the mansion’s courtyard. He wasn’t allowed to leave the property, but he could walk there under watch.
Every guard he passed looked away quickly, as if eye contact with him would get them killed. Even whispers stopped when Dante’s name was mentioned.
Eli
(💭): Even his own men are scared of him. How does someone live like that? Alone in fear?
Then his phone buzzed..an unknown number.
rival 2
You shouldn’t be here.
rival 2
A friend. Leave while you can.
Eli
I can't they will kill me!!
rival 2
Then don’t trust anyone. Especially him.
Eli’s heart raced. Before he could reply, the message disappeared. Deleted.
He looked up and saw Dante watching him from the balcony above.
Dante
Someone contacted you?
Dante
Nothing happens here without my knowledge. Who was it?
Eli
I—I don’t know. It deleted.
Dante
(narrowing his eyes) You’re lying.
He grabbed Eli’s wrist suddenly, pulling him close.
Dante
Listen carefully. In this house, truth keeps you alive. Lies get you buried.
Eli’s eyes welled with tears.
Eli
I’m not lying! I swear!
Dante studied his face for a moment longer… then released him.
Dante
Don’t cry. It doesn’t suit you.
[Chat Log – his Rivals Mafia Leader]
Rival 1
Word is Moretti’s keeping a new pet?
Rival 1
What’s his name again? Eli? Cute. Maybe I’ll take him next.
rival 2
Don’t test him. You’ll regret it.
As night fell, the mansion felt more like a cage. Every hallway guarded, every window reinforced. Eli stared at the city lights through the glass so close, yet unreachable.
A soft knock came at the door. Dante entered, no guards this time.
Dante
You’re afraid of me?..
Dante
Good. Fear keeps you alive. But… it shouldn’t paralyze you.
He walked closer, his presence filling the room.
Dante
You have two choices: obey and survive, or rebel and disappear?
Eli
Why do you keep me here?
Dante
Because your uncle owes me more than money. Because you’re leverage. Because you… remind me of something I lost.
For a moment, Dante didn’t answer. His gaze drifted to the window, where lightning flashed in the distance.
Dante
A life before this one. One I’ll never get back....
[Eli’s Inner Monologue]
There’s a sadness in him… I can see in his eyes...hidden under the cruelty. But it’s dangerous. Like trying to touch fire just to feel warmth.
[Scene: Late Night – Mansion Corridor]
Eli wandered quietly, trying to calm his thoughts. He passed a door slightly open a glimpse inside revealed papers scattered on a desk, photographs of crime scenes, and a bloody ring in a glass case.
Before he could step closer....
Dante
(behind him): What did I tell you about rules?
Eli gasped, spinning around to look at him.
Dante
You don’t enter rooms you’re not invited to?!
Dante
Curiosity gets people killed in my world!
He cornered Eli against the wall, voice low and dangerous.
Dante
Do you want to die, Honey?
Dante
Then stop testing me.
But instead of walking away, Dante leaned closer, his breath cold against Eli’s ear.
Dante
You don’t understand how fragile you are… yet you keep provoking me. Why?
Eli whispered, trembling—
Eli
Because I don’t know how to live like this.
Dante paused, as if that answer cut deeper than he expected. Then, almost gently, he stepped back.
He turned, walking away, his voice echoing down the hall
Dante
And remember, boy… everyone fears me for a reason. Even the ones who love me.
Eli sank to the floor, heart pounding. His chest ached not just from fear, but from something else. A pull he didn’t understand.
In the mansion built on silence and blood, he was the only fragile thing left and somehow, Dante Moretti couldn’t bring himself to destroy it.
Eli
(💭): He’s a monster. But why does he look at me… like I’m the only thing keeping him human?
