Arianna sighed, she was fired again at work, what could she do her good for nothing mother who was a goddess seemed determined on ruining her life.

Years ago her mother tiana, the goddess of plants descended to a barren land and granted them vegetation and water, years passed and on her 21st visit she spent the night at an inn where she was raped by a drunk human, Tiana was furious at that time but decided not to pursue it, the human was desperate to correct his mistake even suggesting they got married, so he'd take responsibility for her, but tiana rejected him in disgust.

She forgot about the incident until she found out she was pregnant, somehow the ministers found out and publicly humiliated her for having a taint in their bloodline, her elder sister Diana was the one who helped her else she would have been stripped of her loyalty.

This incident fueled tiana with hatred for both the baby's father and the baby, she plotted with her elder sister, diana to abandon the baby with her father and secretly kill them.

Months passed, and she finally gave birth to a beautiful girl but tiana wasn't in the mood to appreciate the baby's beauty she gave her to her father and turned without looking back.

Her father was assassinated that night,, but somehow he managed to escape, he raised her till she was fifteen naturally telling her what transpired between him and her mother, he never spoke a word to blame her because he truly loved her he didn't blame her for her heartlessness, he was eventually killed by some assassins sent by tiana he protected Arianna even till his last breath.

Arianna hook her head she couldn't remember those bad memories again, she walked home contemplating where else she'll work tomorrow, she saw her pet cat, glacier nibbling on a piece of meat.

Actually it was an ice dragon in disguise, her father found the egg in the woods and brought it home for her when she was ten, since then she had practiced her powers and learned to keep it a secret from prying eyes with her amulet, She had a tremendous control over ice and could even communicate with animals her voice alone could make plants grow, she even had an unexpected power that wasn't in the lineage of goddess's the power of light, it seems only angels had it.

She retired to her bed after freshening up, Glacier snuggled up to her, she chuckled and was about to drift off when she heard a sound by the window, glacier became alert and cautiously walked towards it, she bared her teeth at the white dove with a small parcel the dove dropped the parcel and left.

Glacier gave her the parcel and shot the window close, Arianna was surprised to see a letter of admission to an academy she had never heard of before she sighed and lay down in anticipation for the next day.

The next morning

Arianna slowly rose and quickly freshened up and got dressed,she glanced at the time and waited patiently.....two hours passed still no sign of anything mysterious, she sighed and glanced at glacier.

"do you think it was some kind of prank?"

Glacier shrugged and mind linked her back"i don't believe it's a prank"

Suddenly a gust of wind blew and a shadow stood before them"No luggages "

Arianna glanced at her luggage and dropped it, she tremblingly asked"can i take my cat?"

The shadow paused then nodded, it opened a portal and stepped through it followed by arianna and glacier.

They arrived at their destination...lo and behold it was a stunning and magnificent castle floating in the air..arianna only had one word in mind..STUNNING!!!

The shadow stopped in front of the Dean's office and disappeared, arianna opened the door and saw a middle aged woman with a beeming smile.

"welcome to elemental academy, Arianna right?"

Arianna nodded.

"I'm isla the dean of this wonderful academy, the crystal ball of life chooses students who are very capable every ten years...but this year is a little different..it chose a low level..umm...Elemental"

Arianna rolled her eyes, of course it was a crystal stone it'll probably sense the powers other elementals couldn't, the reason isla couldn't sense her powers was because of that necklace.

"Nevermind the crystal ball never makes a mistake"

She touched the crystal ball and a small gem appeared, she paused looking shocked by the outcome.

"You actually got the ruby gem?"

"what is the ruby gem?"

"it is the dorm of top tier magic users...but you have low elemental energy..could there be a problem with the ball?"

Isla pondered but shook her head"nevermind..the crystal ball never makes a mistake"

She clapped her hands and a shadow appeared"what kind of wardrobe do you prefer?"

"Edgy and cool"

Isla looked dumbfounded,she ordered the shadow to do as she wished.

She handed a ruby coloured card to arianna"here's your card it has access to most parts of the school"

Arianna nodded and left, she followed the shadow to her dorm room and was shocked when the door opened...this was exactly her dream room, a black and silver toned room it looked elegant and unique.

The shadow bowed and disappeared, she pulled the silver curtains and looked down, lots of students were gathered there either chatting or reading.

A knock sounded at the door, she opened it and saw a girl with curly brown hair and deep blue eyes framed with glasses.

"Hi i'm finola..nice to meet you"

Arianna glanced at her and replied curtly"Arianna"

Finola nodded"my powers is umm the ability to draw the future only i can see what i draw..so they call me weird around here..what about you? what's your power"

Arianna was already feeling irritated by her contant chattering"ice.."

Finola nodded"oh..anyways my room is next to yours if you need anything you can always ask"

Arianna nodded she was about to close the door when a sarcastic voice sounded.

"oh..what a shame i was wondering what foul smell this was..it was actually a low class elemental..tell me what charm did you use to bribe the crystal ball?"

Arianna looked towards the source it was a girl with long red hair and fiery orange eyes.

Finola whispered"that's Fierra her father is the Proprietor of the school,her twin brother is fier,they both have immense control over fire, they are not someone to mess with"

Arianna smirked, oh how she loved challenges"Little red head you really have no basic manners..how dare you question the powers of the crystal ball"

Fierra was speechless, no one had ever dared to speak to her inthat manner,finola covered her forehead in exaperation...

Fierra was filled with anger"what the hell?, a damned low class elemental dared to speak to me in that manner?"

Arianna yawned"noisy.."she entered her dorm room and slammed the door.finola broke out in a cold sweat and quickly apologized.

"she didn't mean it, she just didn't understand your position"

Fierra sneered she knew exactly who'll handle her,she walked away wity anger.

Finola sighed and left.

The speakers boomed and isla's voice was heard"everyone gather at the town square we have introductions to make"

Arianna walked briskly to the hall following the map finola gave her,she stopped behind the sea of people and frowned in disgust.

Isla stood on the stage and held a microphone "we have a new student here can you please honour us with your prescence..make way for her"

The people parted and arianna walked past them she walked like a runway model her silver hair floated behind her creating a ethereal feeling her icy blue eyes glittered under the light.

She finally ascended the stage under the gazes of the students full of awe,envy,disdain and wonder.

She stood confidently and stared down at the sea of people.

Isla chuckled"What's your name dear?

"Arianna...Arianna winter"

"Wow what a beautiful name for a beautiful girl, what kind of ability do you possess"

A sneer came from the crowd, they looked towards the crowd and a girl with flowing blue hair and beautiful emerald eyes came to view.

Arianna sighed from the book of history finola gave her she knew this was the arrogant Fleur..her father co-founded the school with a man called blake.

"She's a low class elemental what ability could she possibly have"

Arianna rolled her eyes and raised her hand frost slowly began to form under fleur's feet before long it engulfed her whole body in ice leaving her head...

The hall suddenly went quiet until isla clapped.

"wow well done that was splendid"

Arianna smirked and dropped the microphone heading straight to the exit.

Fleur's venomous gaze followed her,the ice around her slowly melted she glanced around before walking away in anger.

Since then no one dared to offend arianna, seeing as she put fluer the most arrogant among them in her place.

In the blink of an eye two months passed peacefully without much problem, Arianna had finally got used to the school.

She furrowed her brows as she glanced at the text in the book she was reading, suddenly there was a commotion in the libary fire and snakes flew everywhere throwing the library in disarray.

Arianna frowned disturbed by the noise she walked over and saw Fluer pulling fierra's hair.

"you witch i told you there was nothing going on between us bit why don't you just listen..besides he doesn't even like you"

Hearing this fierra's anger boiled"that is no reason for him to be involved with you"

Just as arianna was feeling bored the man in question appeared and pushed fierra away shielding fluer behind him, fluer quickly squeezed out a few tears.

"sob..sob tider i'm sorry, fierra misunderstood our relationship"

Seeing her in tears tider's heart softened he glared at fierra.

"How could you be so unladylike?, even though there is something going on between us i'll never like you"

That sentence felt like a bolt of lightening struck fierra's heart, she had loved tider for five years contantly following him around and pursuing him, even though he never liked her she was still headstrong, she was about to give him flowers as always when she caught her and tider making out.

The thought filled fierra with hatred"how could you be so shameless, i am your friend fleur do you have a heart"

Fluer yawned"i didn't agree to be your friend you just tagged along like a loyal dog..."

Fierra slapped her in the face, Fluer was shocked and was about to retaliate when a thought came into her mind, she burst into tears and hugged tider.

"Tider it hurts could you help me?"

Tider's face contorted in worry he affectionately blew on her cheek not sparing a glance at fierra.

Fierra grabbed him"how could you be so blind can't you see this witch is doing it on purpose?"

Tider shook off her hand and slapped her, fierra stood there stunned.

"i've had enough of your antics, i don't ever want to you again"

Arianna frowned and walked towards tider, she threw a punch at him and a hurdle of blows, tider retaliated and they began a brawl.

A few minutes later arianna kicked tider away and sneered, what a loser, she glanced at the still stunned fierra and scooped her up in a princess style and left gracefully.

Tider's face was bruised and battered he glared at arianna's retreating figure with hatred.Fluer sneered but pretended to care for him, the students dispersed each group discussing arianna's manliness.

RUBY DORM

Arianna carefully set fierra on the bed and poured her a glass of water.

Fierra stared at her blankly after accepting the water"why did you help me?"

Arianna paused"i didn't help you, just couldn't stand his disgusting behaviour"

Fierra smirked"this doesn't mean we're friends"

Arianna rolled her eyes"doesn't matter"

Fierra bit her lip, arianna formed a block of ice and pressed it on her swollen cheek, Fierra shivered slightly.

"i suggest you give up on that loser, he's way too blind"

Fierra closed her eyes and collected the ice"i need to be alone"

Arianna nodded in understanding and left, she saw finola standing there with an odd expression.

"umm i have to tell you something"....
