Detective Babu
Prologue
January, 1864, Calcutta, British India
Winter this year had been colder than the last. Perhaps it was because of the fiery winds, or the lack of a fiery spirit.
Right now, in the last hours of the day, men were looking for clues in a room while a blue corpse lay at their feet.
The sickening smell of sandalwood incense and rotting corpse filled the room.
Debashish Bagchi
Work faster, the new detective is going to be here any moment *anxious*
Random character
What's so special about him anyway? Fucking british-
As if on cue, a blue ambassador car stopped in front of the run down house.
Debashish Bagchi
*nervous*
Debashish Bagchi
*opens the car door*
Debashish Bagchi
Detective...sir...
Aniruddh Roy
*gets off the car*
Aniruddh Roy
*raises his brow*
Debashish Bagchi

Debashish Bagchi

Debashish Bagchi
4 of hearts
Aniruddh Roy
We have 1, 2, and 4
Aniruddh Roy
There has to be another body we didn't find
Debashish Bagchi
What if the killer is just trying to mess with us?
Aniruddh Roy
*shook his head* I don't think so
Aniruddh Roy
What about the autopsy reports for the other two victims?
Debashish Bagchi
I have it back at the station
Aniruddh Roy
*examining the scene*
Random character
*whispers* Isn't he from London?
Debashish Bagchi
*whispers back* He studied there.
Random character
*whispers* Rich men and their antics
Aniruddh Roy
It's the same incense as the last two scenes?
Debashish Bagchi
Sandalwood incense, small locked room, playing card, and...they are castrated.
Aniruddh Roy
The tool for castration, I think it was a cigar cutter
Random character
*chuckles* That must've hurt
Aniruddh Roy
*ignores him*
Aniruddh Roy
Make sure you collect every evidence and send the body for the autopsy
Aniruddh Roy
I need this killer caught
Random character
Yes, detective
Aniruddh Roy

Aniruddh Roy
I don't have all night, sit down ❄️
Debashish Bagchi
*sits in the passenger seat*
Debashish Bagchi

Aniruddh Roy
*sitting on his chair*
Debashish Bagchi
*gives him the autopsy reports*
Aniruddh Roy
They died of...what?
Debashish Bagchi
There were almost 10 different kinds of poisons.
Debashish Bagchi
It's like someone picked the most dangerous things they could find and then fed it to the victim.
Aniruddh Roy
Yet there were no signs of struggle?
Aniruddh Roy
*purses his lips*
Aniruddh Roy
You can go home.
Aniruddh Roy
Come back early tomorrow.
Debashish Bagchi
Thank you sir
Debashish Bagchi
*leaves hurriedly*
Aniruddh Roy
*rubs his eyes*
Aniruddh Roy
*reading through the case files*
Aniruddh Roy
A doctor, a clerk, and a prodigal son.
Aniruddh Roy
What do they have in common?
Aniruddh spent hours trying to think of a possible connection between these people, yet he failed
He went to his new "home" around dawn.
Servant
*waiting for him at the door*
Aniruddh Roy
*parks his car outside the bungalow*
It was a fairly luxurious bungalow, given to him by the people who had called him to Kolkata.
Servant
*gets up and opens his door*
Servant
Welcome home, babu
Servant
*yawns* Your room is ready. I'll have the cook heat up-
Aniruddh Roy
It's okay. I won't stay for long.
Aniruddh Roy
*goes to his room*
His clothes and other things were arranged neatly. It was clear the servants were trying to win his favor.
He took a long bath, and came out to change clothes
He still didn't know why his life had to be changed so dramatically.
Aniruddh Roy
*wearing his pants*
Servant
Babu- *comes inside*
Aniruddh Roy
*covers his body*
Aniruddh Roy
Knock before you enter. ❄️
Servant
*bows* I am sorry *nervous*
Servant
You've got a letter from the governor
Aniruddh Roy
Keep it on the table
Servant
*keeps it on the table*
Aniruddh Roy
*closes his door*
Author
Wait until the mc is introduced, okay?
Lead
Aniruddh read the letter before leaving for work.
[The man who died was the son of a dear friend. I have heard good things about you back home, detective. I hope the company's trust in you is not misplace.
Governor Hastings]
Aniruddh Roy
*kicks the door*
He had to leave everything and everyone he knew because he was too good? Yeah, right.
Aniruddh Roy
Fucking bullshit
Servant
*came upstairs due to the commotion*
Aniruddh Roy
I'll come ho- back by dinner
Aniruddh Roy
*stops his car in front of the station*
Debashish Bagchi
*about to open the door for him*
Aniruddh Roy

Aniruddh Roy
*sits in the passenger seat*
Debashish Bagchi
*starts driving*
Debashish Bagchi
*stops the car* This is our first victim lived. Vikram Seth, age 40, doctor, no enemies-
Aniruddh Roy
His is the only mansion on this entire street. He was everyone's enemy here.
Debashish Bagchi
*frowns* Is that a bad thing?
Aniruddh Roy
I don't know...yet.
Debashish Bagchi
Should I go talk to the widow?
Debashish Bagchi
*knocks on the door*
Aniruddh Roy
*goes to a street vendor*
Aniruddh Roy
Do you have a lighter?
Random character
Matchsticks...?
Random character
*lights his cigar for him*
Aniruddh Roy
How long have you been here?
Random character
Since I was a kid, worked with my Dad too.
Aniruddh Roy
Tell me, this doctor...how was he?
Random character
Just your normal guy. Never fought, laid low.
Aniruddh Roy
Nothing... interesting about him, eh?
Random character
*whispers* His wife and him *sighs* they fought a lot.
Aniruddh Roy
Really? *raises a brow*
Aniruddh Roy
You think she... *gestures murder*
Random character

Debashish Bagchi
*Comes back* Sir-
Random character
I should go back to my business
Random character
*goes back inside his store*
Debashish Bagchi
The widow didn't talk much, she is still grieving
Aniruddh Roy
*nods* Figures.
Aniruddh Roy
I have a lead.
Debashish Bagchi
*eyes widen*
Debashish Bagchi
We've been on this case for a month, without any lead.
Aniruddh Roy
You look disappointed, Inspector.
Debashish Bagchi
No, sir! *stands straight*
Aniruddh Roy
Good. Let's go to our other victim's house.
