Seven Years Later

Chapter 1

My name is Liam. Today is supposed to be special. our first anniversary. I walked to Kurt’s apartment with a smile, a small cake in my hands. But when I opened the door, my heart shattered.

Kurt was kissing my best friend, Kyle.

“What are you doing?!” My voice trembled, tears already stinging my eyes. “Are you cheating on me with my best friend? Am I not enough for you?”

“Liam, wait let me explain.” He grabbed my hand. “It’s not what you think. He kissed me, I didn’t”

I slapped him, yanking my hand away. “Enough! This is the second time, Kurt. The first time you said it was an accident. Now this? With the same person?” My chest ached. “I can’t do this anymore. We’re done.”

“Please, Liam, don’t,” he dropped to his knees. “I can’t live without you.”

“I wish I never met you,” I whispered, walking away.

Two weeks later, I found out I was pregnant with Kurt’s baby.

I didn’t tell him.

The months that followed were hell. I worked two jobs to pay rent and buy food, hiding my growing belly under baggy shirts. The nights were the hardest alone, scared, wondering if I’d made the right choice.

When my son was born, he became my reason to keep breathing. His tiny fingers held on to me like I was his whole world, and I swore I’d never let him down. For seven years, I raised him alone through sickness, bills I could barely pay, and days when I couldn’t afford to eat so he could.

It's already been 7 years since I left Kurt and raised my child alone right now I'm here in the grocery store with my child, his in the counter eating his lollipop that I have given him

I brought him to my work place because no one's gonna take care of him at home, while stocking shelves at the grocery store. I heard a voice I hadn’t heard in years.

“Liam?”

I froze. That deep, familiar tone. I turned, and there he was Kurt. Older, sharper in a black suit, the kind of man who commanded the room without trying.

“It’s been so long,” he said, taking a step closer. His eyes softened when they fell on my son, who was sitting on the counter eating a lollipop. “Is he…?”

I pulled my boy closer. “He’s mine. That’s all you need to know.”

Kurt’s jaw tightened. “Liam, I’ve been looking for you for seven years.”

“I didn’t want to be found.”

He exhaled, a storm in his eyes. “I’m not letting you disappear again.”

... I glare at him

But as I walked away, his voice followed me low, certain, and dangerous.

“I’ll win you back, Liam. And this time, I’m not letting go.”
