Episode 1
The room was silent. Smoke drifted through the darkness—thick cigarette smoke swirling as if beginning an invisible dance with the air. A few files lay scattered on the table—each one containing the boy’s photographs, name, and background check.
But the source of the smoke?
A tall, broad-shouldered man leaning against the table. His hair reached his neck, thick and jet-black. He wore a simply designed black shirt, yet it looked as though it had been tailored solely for him—fitting him with flawless precision. One button of the collar was undone, and the faint light in the dim room made the silver chain around his neck glimmer now and then.
He looked like the perfect embodiment of darkness itself.
Light and shadow seemed to merge upon his skin; black somehow made him shine brighter. He was living proof that even the color black can become a symbol of beauty.

“Boss, Mr. Zayn was discharged from the hospital today.”
A man standing near the door delivered the news. Rafael lowered his cigarette.

The man left. Rafael picked up a picture from the table and stared at it for a moment, his gaze sharpening—then a crooked smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

The college campus was alive with noise and chatter. Yet none of it seemed to touch him. That roaring, bustling environment felt like a completely separate world from the one he stood in.
At the front gate stood a young man—his appearance simple, but carrying an inexplicable charm beneath that simplicity.
A white shirt neatly tucked into black pants, sleeves casually folded. He looked tidy, yet the eyes couldn’t help but linger on him.
His golden-tinted hair fell slightly messy across his forehead, but that very messiness made him look even more mysterious. His long lashes trembled gently at the touch of the breeze.
His eyes held a faint bluish hue—like an unseen sky floating within them.
And at the corner of those enchanting eyes rested a tiny, jet-black mole—something that seemed to bind his entire existence into a unique, effortless beauty.
He stood there quietly, as if in a world separate from the surrounding chaos.
Perhaps he was only deciding whether to enter.
Then, without the slightest rush, he stepped forward and walked into the college.

“Aerith Zayn… huh?”
Richard raised an eyebrow.

“Yes. He’s been part of our batch from the very beginning. But because of an accident, he couldn’t join earlier.”
Elva closed her book and sat up.
Ever since Aerith had entered the classroom, almost everyone’s attention had been fixed on him.
At the teacher’s request, he had introduced himself—but beyond his name, he hadn’t said a single word.
So curiosity and whispered discussions were only natural.
Aerith, however, paid no attention to any of it, as if this kind of scrutiny was an everyday occurrence for him.

“I heard he’s the adopted son of the Zayn family.”
student 2
“Adopted? But the Zayn family already has two heirs.”
student 1
“I don’t know. These are matters of the city’s major families. Outsiders don’t know what goes on behind closed doors.”
The boy at the third desk in the middle row—
Yes, that was Aerith.
At this moment, he was the center of almost every conversation in the class.
Absent since the beginning of the year, an accident no one knew the details of, and now his sudden appearance—together, it all made him impossible to ignore.
After college ended, Aerith was leaving on his own when he suddenly stopped.
A black car was waiting ahead. Standing beside it was a well-dressed man—Mr. Helis.
Aerith looked surprised at first, but the next moment, irritation was clearly visible on his face.
Mr. Helis spoke, slightly uneasy.

“Young Master..”
Cutting him off, Aerith said irritably

Before Mr. Helis could say anything more, a firm voice from inside the car stopped him. The window rolled down.

“Don’t argue, Aerith. Get in.”

Hearing that voice, Aerith’s irritation deepened.
Yet some unspoken thought forced him to give in. Without another word, he got into the car.
Mr. Helis had nothing more to say. He started driving in silence.
After a while, Aerith stared quietly out the window as the city scenery rushed past his eyes.
Skyler observed him in silence. Then he looked away—it seemed as though he let out a quiet sigh.
