Chapter 2 : The escape

I laid there on the bed. The Alpha was on top of me with his crushing weight. My gaze was hazy. I looked everywhere except his face. I didn't dare to

My face turned away as I laid there in disgust.
I don't know for how long I was gone I was there- maybe seconds, maybe a lifetime—when the door burst open. Not a knock, I whipped my head expecting to see my dad but surprised to see my brother
I pushed the Alpha off me. I scrambled backward, tucking myself into a terrified knot. 'Please, don't look' I muttered to myself.
The Alpha frowned, his heavy hand reaching. He tried to touch me to pull me back, to re-establish his claim. I tried pushing him with all my strength I had.
And then, he fell. Not off the bed, but onto me. My eyes snapped wide as I was trapped beneath his de@d weight, I looked up to see my brother holding a bloody ceramic vase, his chest heaving and his eyes glowing into that dark golden.
A sound ripped from my throat—not a word, just a pure, terrified scream. I pushed the alpha that was on top of me and ran.
I ran until I hit the door of my brother's room, slamming it shut and frantically bolted towards his closet pulling on whatever I could find. a worn, oversized hoodie, sweatpants. They smelled like him, like safety.
He can't see me like this. Not after this. Not ever.
The door behind me shuddered. With heavy thuds. Was my brother knocking? Kicking? Trying to break the frame? It was relentless. There was only one escape, the window.

Chapter 3 : The new beginning

I woke up with the sun shining bright, and I was enveloped in a sense of warmth—feelings completely opposite to the bleakness of yesterday.
I stared at the sky, mesmerized by its beauty. It wasn't my first time seeing the sky, but somehow, today it felt different, as if something had shifted maybe cause I was free from.. The @buse I went through.
I got up from the bench where I'd been sleeping last night and looked around, my mind on finding a convenience store. I tucked my hand into my (my brother's) sweatpants pocket and felt a few dollars. I calculated quickly: I think that would be enough for four meals.
I know I can't live like this forever. I need to start looking for a job and a place to live.
I started walking toward a small cafe I had noticed earlier.
