Elizabeth

As I venture past the palace gates I know that I never want to go back I never will and they will never find me. I will finally be free to do whatever I want to be whoever I want and nobody will ever stop me now. I can feel the wind as I run farther into the forbidden forest it unties the braid in my dark black hair flowing freely. I see the guards by the entrance it's my only way out of this hell that they say is my home. I can hear them talking as I see the light their lanterns get closer. "Hey, child what are you doing here?" The guard on the left asks. He decides to ask another question "What is your name?" I was able to get out "Elizabeth Henry" before I couldn't answer him anymore, I was too out of breath and can see black spots in my vision as I'm about to pass out. Before I do I hear the guard on the right tell him "I sense that she is just human I have no idea what she is doing here but look at the wounds she has on her she clearly needs help take her to the hospital." The next thing I know is that I have fallen to the ground and could not move talk I couldn't do anything, but think.

I have always wonder what it felt like to be loved to be free to do anything.

I have always been locked away never to even look out the window as I was told that I didn't deserve to do anything then what I was told.

They said it was all for my own protection as everyone left me everyone turned their backs on me to never look back. So this is my only chance and I'm gonna take it.

Hi guys thanks to anybody reading this and if you like it even better, I'm gonna be honest I know my story is not the best but if you want to tell me anything that might help improve thank you. Also, this is my first time writing a story this will also be published on ******** and ******* if you want to read it on there, I'm gonna try to update every Friday if I can but since I have school I still have to focus on that so I will do my best to update on time. There are 5 realms in this world the human, fairies, giants, demons, and goddesses. Most people believe that the demons killed all the goddesses but most of them just went into hiding they are believed to also have the power to heal all and have other incredible powers no one is aware of. The Giants stay up in their realm and barely come down they are believed to have the ability of the earth like ground, fire, water, and carry incredible strength. Fairies can control nature and animals they are usually expected to have wings, they can easily disguise themselves as humans they have their own individual powers but the royal fairies have stronger and incredible powers. Demons are most commonly known for their power of destruction and are not very welcome in any realm as most people fear and hate them most people don't know what powers demons have. And then we have humans they don't have any powers but they do know of the fairies and other realms we all like to live in peace, so humans don't really mind them they treat them as are equal and mostly everyone is okay with.

I woke up in the hospital to the sound of people murmuring. As I was about to get up I notice a lady standing by the door looking at me she starts to walk closer. I sensed that she is human she comes up to the bed rails and asks me "How are you feeling? My name is Jessica I'm a caseworker for the orphanage." She has red-brown hair and grey eyes she looked to be in her 20's. When I was locked up they still taught me a lot I learned mostly everything about the other realms, especially this one so I know what she's talking about. I don't know what to say to her so I decided to stay quiet and let her continue. "So..." She starts with. "It says on the papers when you were brought here that your name is Elizabeth Henry and your human, right?" I shook my head and agreed. She seemed super nice she told me "You have a lovely name I'm going to go do something it will only take a second but I will go get the nurse for you ok bye." As she was leaving she stopped to talk to someone It looked to be a police officer (male). He asked her "Did she say anything?" I heard her tell him my name and that she would ask me the questions in a little she just has to go get my background check from the front office. Which I know will just show up with fake information that the fairies that found me would put sense they don't know what to make of the situation. The nurse walked in and wrote things down she asks me "How do you feel? Do you need anything?" I just told her "I feel fine just a little dizzy and kinda have a headache but could I have some water." She shook her head yes and scurried off. About a minute later Jessica comes back and starts talking "So we ran a background check on you it states that both of your parents are deceased because of a car accident your mother was a fairy your father was human and that you went missing after that. At that time you were 6-years-old and now your 10-years-old, apparently two male fairies found you at their doorstep and you passed out after you told them your name so they took you here. So I wanted to know do you remember anything that happened to you in those four years you were missing?" I need to think of something that isn't the whole truth but somewhere around there so I said: "I don't really remember much they kept me in a room and locked all the windows, they gave me food but it was too dark to see who it was but I know it was a guy and I could hear other people but that's all I know." I wasn't necessarily lying but I wasn't telling the whole truth and it seemed like she believed me. All she said was "ok." And left I could hear her talking to the officer she just told him what I told her and that "I asked her what you told me to but there isn't much to go on I say that we just take her to a foster home and see what happens after that she's been through a lot so far I think it would be best for her to go to a foster home and hope for the best." All the officer said was ok and then went. The nurse then comes in with a cup of water and a pill she walks up to the side of the bed and hands me the cup. She tells me "The pill is a aspirin for your headache after you take it the headache should go away and you'll be discharged in about an hour." I take the pill out of the nurses hand the nurse then decides to leave after that about a minute later Jessica walks back in she just says that she has to leave to go get some things and that she would be back in about an hour, I tell her ok and then she leaves and now I'm alone again. I'm still pretty tired so I decided to just go back to sleep not long after do I start to drift off dreaming the first part of the dream was beautiful I was in a meadow gorgeous flowers surrounding me and then it all went black... It stayed black for a little bit but soon I Saw the light so I started walking towards it hoping that it helps me escape and all the darkness. As soon as I reach the light it turns out to be just some lantern I was in some kinda room, no not just any room it was the room that I've been living in for my whole life no escape I soon realize that the light wasn't to help me escape from the darkness it only just brought more. As much as I wish this was a dream it felt so real like I was actually there and for a second I thought I wasn't dreaming. But I knew it had to be a dream right cause I couldn't be still here I escaped I remember I escaped, theirs just no way possible that I'm still here. I turned around hoping there was still some way to get out of here go back to beautiful meadow to go anywhere but here as I looked around I realize there's no way to get out of here they never have been I only had that one shot to escape and I used it so I'm not here anymore. A second later I heard somebody calling out my name "Elizabeth wake up Elizabeth." I couldn't recognize the voice at first but after a little bit I realized she kind of sounded like Jessica. Then I saw the light again it wasn't exactly the same light as before this one is much brighter I thought this time It might actually be my way out she did sound like Jessica after all and Jessica's trying to help me, isn't she? When I finally got to the light I realized that my eyes were starting to open my real eyes this time. As my eyes started to open more I saw the light on the ceiling it was too bright so I turn my head to the left and saw Jessica staring at me while smiling she seemed to have a lot of paperwork in her hand. I sat up and waited for her to say something it took her about a minute to organize all the paperwork but It didn't seem that hard as she started speaking I noticed the paperwork seemed to be about the foster home she'll be sending me to it look like she filled out all the papers. She notices me looking at the papers and started to speak "look I know a lot has happened to you so far but we need to decide where you are going to go, so you'll be staying at a foster home until you get adopted don't worry I'll be watching over you okay." I shook my head in understanding and told her "ok" the nurse walks in and talks to Jessica about the discharge forms for me, I looked out the window it seemed to be around the afternoon as I looked at the clock it said 5:39. When I first woke up here earlier the clock said it was about 3:40 that's when Jessica came and talked to me, when I went to sleep the second time it was about 4:20 I guess it really has been an hour. As the nurse leaves Jessica comes up to me and says "so you ready to go?" She asked I shook my head, yes knowing that she was going to take me to the foster home I followed her out to her car it was a small red one I got into the back passenger seat and buckled up Jessica got inside and started the car. It was a pretty long ride there me and Jessica didn't say anything I just looked out the window the whole time when we finally got there it looked like a nice place a two-story Ash blue house there was a few toys scattered across the lawn you could see the light from the house peeking through the curtains. We went up and wrong the doorbell it took about two minutes for someone to come and answer they opened up there were two people a women and a man the lady has a light brown hair and brown eyes she looks to be in her 30's or 40's the guy has dark brown hair almost black and also brown eyes also like the lady they seem to be the same age guy started talking "hi you must be Jessica and this little one here must be Elizabeth if I'm correct. My name is David and this is my wife Lisa, come on in let me introduce you to everyone." We followed them in as they lead us to what seemed to be the living room all of the kids were sitting down watching TV Lisa went up to them and said: "hey guys we have a new kid the would be living with us for now on her name is Elizabeth say hi." The kids said hi and there name Sara was the one with red hair and dark brown eyes she is 6, Mikayla was the one with blonde her and green eyes she is 5, Melody is 8 and has dirty blonde hair and light blues eyes, josh has jet black hair and brown eyes he's about 5. I thought that was everyone until a boy who looks about my age comes running in front of me he starts talking " hi mine name is Peter your Elizabeth, Right? I hope we can be good friends." All I say is "yeah I'm Elizabeth I hope we can be friends too." After a little bit of talking to him, Jessica calls me to talk to her she tells me that she'll be leaving soon and that she'll come and visit when she can. I wave by to her as she leaves as I turn around I meet Peter's eyes he says "so..." he starts with "we are going to be friends, right?" he asks. I tell him "yeah I would love to be your friend." He said, "that's great you don't mind me calling you Liz then do you?" I told him it was ok. And that's how I met my best friend I get to start a new life not have to worry about anything, at least that's what I thought but life is just not that simple cause something is bound to go wrong all I do is cause destruction after all.
