Chapter 1:Beneath the crimson Sun

The sun beat down on the streets of Yiling, casting long, cruel shadows that offered little respite. A wisp of a boy, no older than six, darted through the crowds, his clothes ragged and stained with dirt. This was Wei Ying, though he barely remembered that name, a ghost child haunting the edges of society.

His days were a relentless cycle of hunger and fear. He scavenged for scraps in the market, dodging the kicks of vendors and the glares of passersby. Sleep was a luxury, found in alleyways or beneath overturned carts, where the cold seeped into his bones despite the summer heat.

"Just one more day," he would whisper to himself, his voice hoarse from disuse. "Just one more."

Wei Ying had long forgotten his parents, their faces blurred by time and hardship. He clung only to the instinct to survive, a sharp cunning that belied his age. He learned to read the faces of people, discerning who might offer a morsel of food and who would sooner chase him away.

One day, he stumbled upon a group of older children huddled around a discarded bun. His stomach gnawed with emptiness, and he dared to approach, his eyes pleading. But they were merciless, shoving him to the ground and snatching the bun away.

"Worthless," one spat, kicking dirt into his face. "Go back to where you belong."

Wei Ying’s heart twisted with pain, but he swallowed his tears. He had learned that tears were a weakness, a beacon for predators. He would not give them the satisfactory .

His mouth watered, but he knew better than to beg.

Instead, he waited, his eyes narrowed, assessing the situation. The children were distracted.

With the swiftness of a shadow, Wei Ying darted forward, snatching the bun . Before they could react, he was off, weaving through the crowded streets, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Thief!" the children shouted, their cries echoing in the narrow alleyways. "Stop him!"

Wei Ying didn't dare look back. He knew they were faster and stronger than him, but he had one advantage: he knew the streets better. He ducked into a narrow alleyway, his body pressed against the cold brick wall.

He could hear the children’s footsteps pounding behind him, growing closer with each passing second. He scanned the alley desperately, searching for a place to hide.

Finally, he spotted a pile of discarded crates near the back of a building. Without hesitation, he scrambled behind them, his breath held tight in his chest.

The children ran past the alleyway, their voices fading into the distance. Wei Ying waited for what felt like an eternity, his muscles tense, his senses on high alert.

When he was sure they were gone, he slowly emerged from his hiding place, his eyes scanning the alleyway one last time.

He clutched the bun tightly in his hand, his fingers trembling with relief. He knew he had done wrong, but he couldn't bring himself to feel guilty. He was hungry, desperate, and he had done what he needed to survive.

He found a secluded corner and devoured the bun in a matter of seconds, savoring every last crumb. It was the best thing he had ever tasted.

She was an anomaly in those harsh surroundings, with her long white silky hair that seemed to capture the moonlight and eyes that shimmered with an otherworldly light. They first met near the marketplace, an encounter as serendipitous as it was peculiar.

Wei Ying had been attempting to snatch a bun from a group of kids his age when he hide in the alley, Hashina came from a portal with a help from her quirk. Her gentle touch and soothing words , and Wei Ying watched intrigued by her compassion.

Her presence was like a splash of color in the monochrome world of Yiling.

He soon learned that Hashina was different. She lived from a far away place where powerful power that are called quirk that people are born with. She possessed an innate connection to nature and a talent for healing that seemed almost miraculous.

Despite their different backgrounds and personalities, Wei Ying and Hashina formed an unlikely friendship. They found solace in each other's company, sharing stories, laughter, and dreams amidst the grim reality of their lives. They were two lost souls finding harbor in each other's presence, their bond a silent promise of mutual support. And, though she was only a few years older, Wei Ying affectionately called her "older sister" (姐姐, jiějie), a term of endearment that reflected the familial connection they shared.

Their days were filled with shared adventures and quiet moments of companionship. They explored the hidden corners of Yiling, discovering secret gardens, forgotten shrines, and hidden waterways. They would sit together on rooftops, watching the city come alive as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and purple.

Hashina taught Wei Ying about the beauty of the natural world, showing him the hidden wonders that existed even in the grimiest corners of Yiling. She shared her knowledge of herbs and healing, teaching him how to soothe burns with aloe vera, stop bleeding with yarrow, and ease aches with willow bark. She inspired him to use his own resourcefulness to help others, sparking a sense of purpose within him.

Wei Ying, in turn, taught Hashina about the art of survival, showing her how to navigate the treacherous streets and defend herself against those who would seek to harm her. He shared his cunning and wit, reminding her to find joy and laughter even in the darkest of times. He taught her how to pickpocket, how to haggle, and how to spot a con artist from a mile away.

One evening, as they sat together on a rooftop, watching the stars twinkle in the night sky, Hashina turned to Wei Ying, her eyes filled with a mixture of sadness and concern.

"Wei Ying," she said softly, "I feel that someone will look for you and that person knows your parent and will bring you to his clan."

Wei Ying scoffed. "Don't be ridiculous, jiějie. no one will look for me."

But Hashina shook her head, her expression grave. "I wish that were true, Wei Ying. But that guy has been looking for when he found out your parents passed away."

Just then, a voice called out from the street below. "Wei Ying! Is there a Wei Ying here?"

Wei Ying and Hashina exchanged a look of surprise. They crept to the edge of the rooftop and peered down. Standing below was a man dressed in elegant robes, his face kind and dignified.

"My name is Jiang Fengmian," the man announced. "I am looking for Wei Ying, son of Cangse Sanren."

Wei Ying's heart skipped a beat. He had heard stories of his mother, a legendary cultivator who had roamed the lands, righting wrongs and helping those in need. Could this man be connected to her?

He hesitated for a moment, unsure of what to do. He looked at Hashina, seeking her guidance.

Hashina smiled, nodding her head. "Go, Wei Ying," she said. "This is your chance. Don't let it pass you by and I want you to have this ."

"What's this jiêjie?."wei ying confused asked Hashina.then Hashina to explain what it was.

"ohhh..like a hair assessory".wei ying said." Hashina smiles and said "yes like a hair assessory" .Hashina then remember something ."wei ying come closer"

Wei ying did as he was told and with a flicker of Hashinas hands the hair clip turn into a hair pin a beautiful red color.

" Wahh... that's soo cool it can turn into hair pin " wei ying exclaims surprised in his voice

"Hahaha alright you should get going when you need me I will just be in our base" said Hashina . " alright jiêjie".

With a deep breath, Wei Ying climbed down from the rooftop and approached Jiang Fengmian.

"I am Wei Ying," he said, his voice trembling slightly.

Jiang Fengmian's eyes lit up with recognition. "It is you," he said, his voice filled with warmth. "I have been searching for you for a long time."

He reached out and placed a hand on Wei Ying's shoulder, his grip firm but gentle. "Come with me, Wei Ying," he said. "It's time for you to come home."

Wei Ying looked back at Hashina, his heart aching with the thought of leaving her. But he knew that she was right. This was his destiny, his chance to escape the streets and embrace a new life.

he turned and followed Jiang Fengmian, leaving behind the only friend he had ever known.

As he walked away, Wei Ying couldn’t help but wonder what his new home would look like and He knew that no matter where he went, the girl with the shimmering eyes who had taught him and feed him and and protect him in the time they stay together she was like his home and no matter where he went, she.., his dear older sister would follow him silent in the shadows.
