Taekook Short Stories

Unit you come home

Jungkook comes home from a long day, and Taehyung who should be the calm, cool, confident top turns out to be the neediest, clingiest man alive. He can’t handle being away from Jungkook for even a few hours. What starts as whining turns into warmth, teasing, and a whole lot of domestic sweetness.

Jungkook unlocks the apartment door quietly

Jungkook:

“I’m home…”

He barely finishes before Taehyung appears from the hallway, hair fluffy, sleeves too long, looking like he’s been pacing the apartment for hours.

Taehyung:

rushing forward

“Kookie ! Finally. Do you know how long you were gone?”

Jungkook:

“It was literally work.”

Taehyung:

“It felt like five years.”

He grabs Jungkook’s arm and pulls him inside like he’s scared he might run away.

Jungkook:

“What did you even do while I was gone?”

Taehyung:

“…Waited.”

Jungkook:

“Just waited?”

Taehyung:

“Yes. I can’t focus without you. My brain shuts off.”

Jungkook snorts.

Jungkook:

“Aren’t you supposed to be the cool top?”

Taehyung:

“No. I’m needy. Hug me.”

Jungkook:

“You have a blanket.”

Taehyung:

“I said hug me, Jungkook.”

Jungkook sighs in defeat the “fake” kind, because he loves this man too much.

Taehyung leads him to the couch, but instead of sitting next to him, he pulls Jungkook onto his lap like it’s natural .

Jungkook:

“Tae! I can sit beside you.”

Taehyung:

“No. Here. I want you here.”

Jungkook:

“You’re ridiculous.”

Taehyung:

“And you love me.”

He wraps his arms around Jungkook’s waist, chin resting on his shoulder, eyes closing like he finally feels safe.

Taehyung:

“Why were you gone so long…?”

Jungkook:

“It was a normal shift.”

Taehyung:

“I hate normal shifts.”

Jungkook:

“You hate anything that removes me from your sight.”

Taehyung:

“Correct.”

Jungkook turns his head slightly, amused.

Jungkook:

“You’re insane.”

Taehyung:

“No… I’m yours.”

Jungkook pauses ears turning a little red.

Jungkook:

“…Say it again.”

Taehyung:

whispers

“I’m yours. And I love you.”

Jungkook:

soft smile

“Yeah… I know.”

Taehyung tightens his hold, burying his face in Jungkook’s shoulder.

Taehyung:

“Don’t disappear for that long again. I missed you too much.”

Jungkook:

“…You really are the neediest top ever.”

Taehyung:

“Only for you.”

Taehyung still had Jungkook on his lap, arms locked firmly around his waist like he had no intention of ever letting go.

Jungkook:

“Tae, I need to put my bag down.”

Taehyung:

“Put it down later.”

Jungkook:

“It’s literally on my shoulder”

Taehyung:

“Then we can share the burden.”

Jungkook laughs under his breath.

Jungkook:

“You’re unbelievable.”

Taehyung:

“And in love. That’s the problem.”

Eventually, Jungkook manages to wiggle off Tahyung’s lap but Taehyung instantly follows him like a shadow.

To the entryway.

To the kitchen.

To the fridge.

Everywhere.

Jungkook:

“…Are you following me?”

Taehyung:

“Yes.”

Jungkook:

“Why?”

Taehyung:

“If I don’t, I might die.”

Jungkook closes the fridge slowly.

“No way he’s being serious,” he thinks.

But Taehyung stares at him with tragic, puppy-like sincerity.

Jungkook:

“You’re grown.”

Taehyung:

“Emotionally? No. I need my Kookie.”

Jungkook:

“You’re not a baby.”

Taehyung:

“Then stop treating me like one and give me what I want.”

Jungkook freezes.

“…Oh?”

Jungkook:

“And what do you want?”

Taehyung steps closer, towering just a little, but somehow still the neediest person ever.

Taehyung:

“I want you to stay close. Just… here.”

He gently takes Jungkook’s wrist and brings his hand to Taehyung’s chest.

The steady heartbeat thumps against Jungkook’s palm.

Taehyung:

“…It slows down when you’re home.”

Jungkook looks down, a soft color touching his cheeks.

Jungkook:

“You’re really something else.”

Taehyung:

“I’m yours. That’s what.”

They move to the kitchen counter.

Jungkook starts preparing food, but Taehyung stands directly behind him arms around his waist, chin on his shoulder.

Absolutely no distance allowed.

Jungkook:

“Tae, I can’t cook like this.”

Taehyung:

“Then don’t. Just stand here with me.”

Jungkook:

“…You’re supposed to be the top, you know.”

Taehyung:

“So?”

Jungkook:

“So maybe act like one?”

Taehyung tightens his arms around him, voice low and warm but still soft and clingy.

Taehyung:

“I am acting like one.

I get what I want…

and what I want is you right here.”

Jungkook’s breath catches for a second he hates how easily Taehyung affects him.

Jungkook:

“…Fine. Just this once.”

Taehyung:

“It will never be just once.”

He nuzzles into Jungkook’s neck.

Taehyung:

“Kookie… don’t leave me alone tomorrow.”

Jungkook:

“…I have work.”

Taehyung:

“Call in sick.”

Jungkook:

“I’m not calling in sick just because you miss me.”

Taehyung:

“Call in sick because I love you.”

Jungkook nearly drops the spoon he’s holding.

Unit you come home

The kitchen was quiet except for the faint hum of the fridge. The scent of dinner lingered, but it didn’t matter. All Jungkook could feel was the warmth bhind him Taehyung’s arms locked around his waist like he was trying to merge them into one body.

Taehyung:

“Kookie… please… just stay like this for a little longer. Don’t move. Don’t even breathe too far from me.”

Jungkook:

Tugging at the hoodie sleeve but softening under his touch

“Tae… I’m supposed to be cooking. You can’t just”

Taehyung:

“No. No cooking. No chores. No distractions. Only me. I missed you too much today. I don’t even remember what the sun looked like without you here.”

Jungkook rolled his eyes, though a small smile tugged at his lips. He knew arguing with Taehyung like this was pointless Taehyung’s clingy, dramatic energy was impossible to fight, and honestly… he secretly liked it.

Jungkook:

“…Fine. But you’re ridiculous, you know that?”

Taehyung:

grinning, leaning his head against Jungkook’s shoulder

“I know. And you love it. Don’t pretend you don’t.”

Jungkook sighed, but the sound was soft, half amusment, half exasperation. He had to admit there was something about Taehyung’s neediness that was comforting. No matter how dramatic, how clingy, how insistent he could be, it made Jungkook feel needed too.

Before Jungkook could step aside, Taehyung gently grabbed his wrist, spinning him around. Their faces were only inches apart now. Jungkook’s breath caught at how close Taehyung could make every little moment feel.

Taehyung:

“Just… look at me. I need this. I need you. I don’t want to be without you right now. Please, Kookie.”

Jungkook’s heart softened completely. He had never seen Taehyung so openly vulnerable before usually, his clinginess was playful and teasing, but now it was raw, desperate, honest.

Jungkook:

“…Okay.”

Taehyung didn’t wait. He leaned in slowly, brushing his lips against Jungkook’s in a kiss that was soft, lingering, full of everything he had held in all day. It wasn’t rushed or hungry it was careful, tender, a silent promise.

Jungkook’s eyes widened slightly in surprise but quickly melted into the embrace. He rested his hands on Taehyung’s shoulders, letting the warmth seep through him.

Taehyung:

“I’ve been waiting all day… for this. For you. Only you.”

Jungkook:

Takes a soft, shaky breath “Tae… you’re so extra.”

Taehyung:

“And you love it. Don’t lie.”

He held Jungkook closer, burying his face into his neck, nuzzling softly, the subtle scent of shampoo and soap filling his senses. Every heartbeat felt synchronized — fast, tender, alive.

Jungkook’s hands moved from Taehyung’s shoulders to rest on his arms, holding him back just enough to steady him.

Jungkook:

“You’re really the neediest person I’ve ever met.”

Taehyung:

smiling into the crook of Jungkook’s neck

“And you’re mine. Don’t forget that. I need you. I want you here always. Even when you try to pretend you’re too busy for me.”

Jungkook chuckled softly, resting his forehead against Taehyung’s temple. He could feel the warmth radiating from Taehyung’s body, the gentle tremble of his breathing, the clinginess that refused to let go.

Jungkook:

“…Fine. Just this once. But don’t expect me to cook like this again.”

Taehyung:

“Once? No… I don’t plan to ever let you go like this again either.”

They moved together to the living room, still wrapped around each other like they were magnets. Taehyung pressed Jungkook gently against the couch, arms tightening around him as if letting go would be catastrophic.

Taehyung:

“Stay here. Don’t move. Just… be mine for a little while. I want to feel this, all of this. Don’t leave.”

Jungkook:

“…I’m not going anywhere, Tae.”

They kissed again, slow, sweet, playful at first, then tender, full of silent confessions. Taehyung held Jungkook close, his hands stroking along his back as if memorizing the shape of him. Jungkook rested his cheek against Taehyung’s shoulder, letting the warmth fill every part of him.

Taehyung:

“I love you, Kookie… more than I can even say.”

Jungkook:

smiling softly, holding him tighter

“I love you too… even if you’re ridiculously clingy.”

Taehyung:

“And I will always be. Always. Because I can’t do this life without you. I need you, Kookie. I always will.”

They stayed like that for a long time arms wrapped, lips pressed, hearts beating in tandem. The world outside could wait. Work, school, errands, worries… none of it mattered anymore.

All that mattered was them.

All that mattered was Taehyung holding Jungkook and Jungkook letting him.

Taehyung:

“Never leave me alone again.”

Jungkook:

softly, brushing his thumb along Taehyung’s jaw

“I promise… never.”

They curled up together on the couch, still holding, still kissing, still wrapped around each other like it was the safest place in the universe. And for the first time all day, Taehyung felt completely at peace needy, clingy, dramatic, but fully, completely happy.

Because Jungkook was there.

Because Jungkook was his.

And he would never let him go.
