Evan is a 27 years old struggling actor who loves his occupation dearly but lacks experience and not being able to be recognized by his family, made his life miserable.
It was about the time when Evan was 24 years old that he confessed to his parents that he wants to become an actor and wants his family to support his decision, but his family opposes his idea to pursue acting as a profession. Evan belongs to a renowned family. He is the only son of his parents. Evan’s both parents are lecturers in the most prestigious college. As he belongs to an educated family his parents want him to pursue teaching or another respectable profession, Evan was so hurt back then because of his family’s disagreement about his choice of acting that he left his home. Later he received a notice saying his family cut off all ties with him, and he was evicted from his family estates.
When he tried to talk to his family his father closed the door on his face saying he is a shame on his respectable family lineage, and it would be great if he was never born. His father’s words dig him like stabs on his chests. His words hurt his pride so much that he decides he will never go back to his home to meet his parents again. Never and ever.
Pov of Evan
I was so excited about this day. Finally, today I am going to sign a contract to an entertainment agency they promised me to give me more opportunity to work, and I will gain more public attention by participating in celebrity gatherings arranged by the entertainment agency.
I woke up early because I can’t sleep last night but still in the morning, I do not feel sleepy instead I feel more refreshed. I had my breakfast with loud western music. Then I took a long and satisfying shower, and I wore my best outfit for this special day. I am so excited about my new life after today. I will have opportunities to prove my talent to the world and show that I am not a shame but a shining star who soon shines in this entertainment industry.
I took my wallet and phone and made sure I have my watch on my wrist I love watches especially if they are branded, I just can’t live without them. I left my 2bhk apartment yeah, it was a small apartment, but I was satisfied because it doesn’t take so much time to clean the entire place. I do have cooking skills but when it comes to house chores, I am a complete mess. I am a hopeless fool and I don’t want to be an expert in house chores too. It was distressing.
I traveled through public transportation, because I am too poor to buy my own vehicle. yeah, I have to take a long route toward the agency. It takes 1 hour and 45 minutes but I am finally in front of the agency building .
Upon arriving I called my manager-to-be to come and pick me up at the main office but he did not answer my call, I called him twice but got no answer from the other side so I decided to go into the building and ask reception to connect me to him. I walk toward the reception. At the reception desk a beautiful lady was standing I asked her to connect me to Mr. Jennet from the entertainment agency, I mention that I have an appointment with Mr. Jennet today. He is the person who is going to be my manager soon.
The receptionist checked her computer and then called someone and then looked at me astonished. I was not sure what was happening but soon she hung up the headphones then said to me “sorry sir Mr. Jennet no longer works for this agency”
“what” I said in disbelief.
“Yes, he was fired 2 weeks ago because of his unprofessional ethics as the manager said the receptionist.
“But how, just 4 days ago he promised to appoint me as a debut actor to the agency and gave me a role in upcoming big projects he took two hundred dollars from me for paper work” I said, still trying to digest the reality of the situation.
“Sir Mr. Jannet was not professional and as you just said yes, he took money from new trainees in the name of paper work and others but in reality, there are no charges for accommodation in this entertainment agency.” Said the receptionist was feeling pity on me.
I feel so bad, why does everything turn out to be a mess in my life. Still, I manage to compose myself.
“Mam can’t you just tell the authorities about my situation and convince them to contact him and ask him to return my money, else you will take action?” I said try to convince her.
The receptionist took headphones and called again to the office when the other side was connected, she told them my situation. She told them to take some action but soon she frowned at her eyebrows then looked at me with petty eyes and I could do nothing but wait to have an answer from her. When she put headphones back on the table she said to me in a humble voice. “Sir, our agency will not take any action”
I was shocked with her reply I just can’t afford to lose my money that was my only saving that I have given to that scammer, William Jerret that bastard.
I ask her humbly, sometimes angry sometimes I even beg her to talk with them but she refuses to talk with them again. She told me that she will get fired if she calls them again.
“Mam, please try to understand me too, that was my only savings how could I survive if I have no money and jobs, I beg you please mam try to talk with them please" I said desperately.
"Sir, if you give him money it's between you two, our agency already took action for his wrong doing but we can’t help you with it. he no longer works here and outside besides this building whatever he does is no longer our agency’s responsibility." She said with pleading eyes, indicating I should leave.
Evan’s POV
"Ungghh damn it" I shouted loudly.
I walked out of the agency. It’s no good to do any more arguments over something that is my fault. Why do I trust that idiot? Why do I have to give him all my money? why? “Why?” I shouted out loud.
It’s inexplicable to believe that all the mess in the world is bound to happen to me. Am I cursed? or is this a jinx or something else? What did I do wrong to have this miserable life? Deep in thoughts I walked past the agency.
In the bustling of daily life, I was walking alone. My surroundings were busy in their own world every person, every vehicle, every creature they all were living in their own bubble. After walking for a while, I found myself in front of a children's park. I wandered here and there in the park, then after a while I saw a wooden bench and decided to sit down on it.
I was watching my surroundings as they all are so unaffected by my anguish. Why are they so happy? when I am in misery. Why can’t they just stop laughing? when I am secluded in my pain. it feels like they are all making fun of me, they are talking to each other about how a 27 year old man got scammed. How come he is so foolish, foolish enough to believe in a person's word and give up on his savings. Got himself in this mess. In my own thoughts, my world was like nothing but adversity. My surroundings were indeed cheerful but for me it all feels like a funeral, as they all are mourning me for my misfortune.
I can’t take it anymore and I started crying loudly. I don’t know when but my tears just couldn’t stop. my cheeks were all wet, I tried to wipe out all the tears but my cheeks kept getting wet. I started crying more, now sobbing more loudly.
“Why? hngh… why me? I hate it …Engh I hate my life. I hangh…. I hate ... wveryone” I sobbed consecutively while frustartingly cursing and just like that don’t know how much time passed, but I was still sitting on that bench like my life was already stop and all I have is just the darkness and silence, silence that make any person’s blood cold. In between sobbing and cursing I realize that there is nothing left in my life. I decided, I would go to my parents house and beg them for forgiveness. but as the thought crossed through my mind, I found myself perplexed “forgiveness“ I murmured almost like a whisper “why? Why do I even think about it, I never done anything wrong. much more of crime. all I want was to live up my dreams. work as an actor and show to my parents that I am capable of something. I can also shine independently without anybody’s backing. All I wanted from them was nothing but support, emotional support. I want to show them that I am not a loser. Why would I ask for forgiveness? I did nothing wrong and I will not back down. I will never give up on my dreams ever and ever.” I said to myself.

...****************...
Six-year-old Evan was playing in the park with his mother. When he saw a beautiful and giant fountain surrounded by many people. he went toward his mother and innocently asked her,
Evan: mom what is this? Why are people throwing coins in the fountain?
Emily Evan’s mom: son this is a whishing spot, there is a saying that if you throw a coin in this fountain and make a wish, the Goddess of Moon will grant you a wish.
Evan: mom why does the Goddess of the Moon grant wishes to everyone?
Emily: because she is a goddess and she loves us like her own child.
Evan: So, if I make a wish, does Goddess of the Moon grant my wish?
Emily was enjoying how her six-tear-old son is curious about his surroundings. A mischief thought plung her mind and she said to Evan,
Emily: yes, but for that you have to be a good boy, because the Goddess of the Moon doesn’t like bad guys, so you have to be a good boy so that the Goddess of the Moon will grant your wish.
Evan: so, it means, I can’t make a wish?
Seeing Evans sad face Emily couldn’t bring herself to tease him more. how come she makes her only son sad. Her son was her life. the very being that she gives birth with so many difficulties. She said to Evan almost like a whisper,
Emily: of course you can. You are my good boy tóo. my lovely baby. The Goddess of the Moon will absolutely grant your wishes.
Evan: really? Shall I try it mom?
In an instant moment his sad face gleamed like the sun. He asked his mother aesthetically. Seeing her son bloom like a beautiful flower, she felt so overwhelmed. She can sacrifice everything for her son’s smile. She smiled at her son and said to him,
Emily: why not, here take this coin and make a wish but remember it has to be a sincere request, otherwise Goddess of Moon will not grant your wish, ok??
Evan: ok mom. I will make sure😊
He took the coin and went toward the fountain. As Evans’s silhouette fades, Emily wonders what will a six-year-old boy can even ask as a wish( ꈍᴗꈍ)
Author’s POV
Evan took that coin in his palm very carefully. It was like someone landed him a treasure to guard and he will do everything to protect it. In his tiny palm that coin was settled like a queen on her throne. He walked past his mother and when he finally found himself in front of the fountain only then he took a breath of relief.
He threw that coin into the fountain water. As he saw people around the fountain wishing by closing their both hands together, he did the same and closed his eyes. After making his wish he ran toward his mother.
Seeing her son running toward her with a broad smile on his face, she opened her arms to take her son into her embrace. Back in his mother’s arms he giggled sweetly and innocently. she asked him about the wish, but Evan with a chivalry expression said firmly,
“This is a secret between me and the Goddess. I will not tell anyone, otherwise my wish will not be granted.”
Emily shook her head. Both mother and son get ready to go back home. Walking hand in hand talking and laughing, they were in their own bubble. Giggling of both mother and son made an auspicious environment that can melt any person's heart. When they walk past the fountain Evan turns to have one last glance of the fountain. And when he saw the fountain, his eyes shine bright like diamonds. He glanced at the fountain until they turned left to exit the park. when the fountain was no longer in his sight, only then he turned his head back straight.

Author's POV
Evan was murmuring while sleeping. Then suddenly the barking of street dogs made him wide awake. Sudden howls scared him to death. In an instant he sat back at the bench, Evan was shocked to realize that he was sleeping on a bench in the park. All alone in the middle of the night. He recollects himself. He remembered all the incidents that happened to him, the scam, crying, cursing, exhaustion and the dream of his mother.
“Mamma” he murmurs.
A hint of sorrow couldn't go unnoticed. His parents were a very loving couple. They dated for two years, got married and after years of medical treatments finally Emily gave birth to Evan. For her Evan was like a wish who the goddess of the moon herself granted her. That’s why she loved him so much. For her Evan was her angel whose shine lit up her life.
Evan's father, Alex as professor he has to carry a perfect image. he always had a serene expression that made him look like a cold man. He does not express his feelings too much. He didn't talk much, only if necessary. Lack of communication made a drift between father and son. His fathers discipline and rules always made Evan suffocating. He makes sure Evan never skips his school and extra classes. When Evan got third rank in ninth standard Alex reprimanded him for not being at first rank. Alex advised him to concentrate on his studies instead of playing and wandering around with his friends.
His mother always plays the role of the bridge between father and son, but sometimes her interference frustrates both men. Many times Emily gets scolded by Alex for spoiling Evan. Eventually they end up quarreling themselves. Sometimes Evan feels guilty for his mother, who was doing her best to ease the tension between both of them.
But when Alex scolded Evan's friends saying 'stay away from Evan. Stop spoiling my son and let him concentrate on his studies.' he distanced himself from others. He devoted himself to studies. And fulfill his fathers all desires. No matter how much he despises. He played the role of a good son for his mother. But his desire to be an actor made his efforts in vain.
Memories of his parents give him both warmth and sorrows.
He got up and put his hand in his pockets to grab his phone. when he saw the time, it was two and half, he cursed again this time himself.
Evan’s POV
‘“Damn it man, how come I sleep here?”
“Shit”
“At this hour it will be difficult to have a taxi. what should I do now? Damn it. Now I have to walk on the streets to go home. Why am I so unlucky? whhaah”
I look at my surroundings. There was no one, and the rays of the moon made everything visible.
"Wow full moon uhh"
At least I can take my steps without worry. The silence of the night was scary. Then some street animal's howling made the chill run down my spine. My whole body shivers.
“Man, why now?” I cursed again.
“It’s useless to cry over spilt milk, I better go back home soon.” I whisper.
I walked toward the park's exit,, but my feet stopped on my way when I heard the sound of water. I follow that sound. As if that sound was calling me toward her. Soon I spotted a huge water fountain. It was very beautiful. Dazzling water falling down the fountain.
The full moon highlighting the background and falling water shines as if diamonds are falling down from the sky. The sight was so memorizing. I was attracted by The scene. I walked toward the fountain. Closing our distance. I sit down on the edge. In an instinct I raise my right hand to touch the water. When the tip of my finger touched the water, I felt the chillness of water running through my veins. It felt like that water was healing my sorrows. I was playing with the fountain water. Then suddenly someone pushed me into the water.
when I slipped in the water, I saw a woman. Her hair was shining so brightly. it felt like the moon itself landed on the ground. I was unable to see her face. Everything shines too bright. I couldn’t bring myself to open my eyes. All I could remember was her giggling. A sweet and soulful voice that made me think if she is even a human.
