Trigger [JoongDunk FF]
Chapter 1.
That was the rule he lived by- clean shots, no witnesses, no mercy. In the local streets where everyone pretended normal life still existed, his name moved like a whisper. If you heard it, it was already too late.
Tonight, his target was Khun. Thee.
Businessman by day. Mafia by night. Untouchable- until money said otherwise.
Fadel watched from across the street, hoodie shadowing his sharp eyes. Thee’s building glowed warm and golden, irony almost funny. A devil living in luxury.
Inside the building, chaos had a name and it was Peach.
Peach
YOU CAN’T JUST SHOOT PEOPLE!
Peach yelled, waving a legal document like a weapon.
Thee leaned back on the couch, entirely unbothered.
Thee
I literally run a mafia.
Peach
That doesn’t mean you break the law!
Peach
Do you know how hard I work to make you look legal?
Thee
You’re cute when you’re mad.
Peach
Peach threw a cushion at his face.
And that- that was how the police got involved.
Officer Kamin stared at the crime board with a jaw tight enough to crack teeth. Photos. Red strings. Names crossed out in marker.
Local contract killer. Codename: Fadel.
Kamin
Cold. Precise. No background
Kamin
Whoever he is… he’s not human.
But his eyes lingered on the photo longer than he should’ve.
Something about Fadel’s stare- empty, sharp, lonely- set something off in his chest.
Chapter 2.
A narrow alley. Rain-soaked. Neon lights flickering overhead.
Fadel stepped out first, gun hidden but ready.
Kamin stepped in second, badge visible, hand hovering near his weapon.
Kamin said, recognition instant.
A tense beat. Rain hit harder. The city held its breath.
Kamin
You’re not walking away
Fadel laughed-- low, humorless.
Fadel
You think you can stop me?
For a split second, something cracked in Fadel’s expression. Not fear.
Fadel
You’re standing too close to the line.
Kamin
Maybe I like the edge.
Their eyes locked- hate, tension, something unspoken curling between them like smoke.
Thee stood dramatically in the middle of the living room, phone pressed to his ear.
Thee
I don’t negotiate. I can buy your company, your house, your street, and-
Peach walked in, arms crossed.
Thee’s posture instantly collapsed.
Thee
.....And… um… we’ll talk later
He finished softly and hung up.
Peach
Khun.... What did I tell you about threatening people?
Thee
That I should threaten them politely?
Peach pinched the bridge of his nose.
Peach
You are actively trying to get assassinated.
Thee
Lookpeach How can you accuse me like this.
Thee
…Okay but if I do get assassinated, please cry a little
Thee
For emotional impact.
Peach grabbed a pillow and smacked him.
Peach
And stop acting like you’re in a drama.
Thee
This is a drama. I’m rich, powerful, targeted, and in love. The soundtrack is missing.
The rain hadn’t stopped since the alley.
Kamin stood under the flickering streetlight long after Fadel disappeared into the shadows. His hand was still near his gun, heart still racing- not from fear.
From the way Fadel’s eyes had looked at him like he was nothing… and something at the same time.
Kamin muttered to himself.
Kamin
Getting distracted by a criminal.
But the word criminal didn’t sit right in his chest.
Fadel moved through the city like a ghost.
He replayed the encounter in his head... not the gun, not the badge... but Kamin’s refusal to step back. Most people did. Fear always won.
And for the first time in years, he didn’t know if he meant the case... or himself.
Chapter 3.
At the station, Kamin slammed a file onto his desk
Kamin
Fadel doesn’t kill randomly
Kamin
He chooses contracts carefully.
Kamin
So someone powerful is behind this. And if Fadel wants Khun Thee dead-
They met again.... on purpose this time.
Fadel waited on a rooftop overlooking Thee’s route. Clean shot. Easy exit.
Then a familiar voice cut through the night.
Kamin
You really like high places.
Fadel didn’t turn around.
Fadel
You really like dying.
Kamin stepped beside him, rain dripping from his hair, eyes sharp.
Kamin
You hesitated last time.
That got Fadel’s attention.
Up close, Kamin looked worse... dark circles, tension in his jaw, stubbornness written into every line of his body.
Fadel
You don’t know anything about me
Kamin
I know you’re not heartless
Kamin
Heartless men don’t hesitate.
Then Fadel leaned in, close enough that Kamin could smell gunpowder and rain.
Fadel
You should stop chasing me
Fadel
This won’t end well.
Kamin
Neither will letting you kill him.
Their eyes locked... anger, tension, something dangerously close to understanding
Thee pointed at his Bodyguard.
Thee
If anything happens to me
Thee
Tell Peach I loved him more than anything
Mok
Nothing will happen to you khun Thee
