People Come and Go, Aren't They?

Prologue.

"Uhh, my name is Zyrius Alvenderis. Just call me Zyrius. I am an international student from...Japan, Nice to meet you guys"

Zyrius introduced himself, The teacher asked him about his past grades and conditions, his hobbies, also his interest. The teacher asked him to sit down next to a girl named Zoey and so he obeyed, he sat by the window beside Zoey before speaking up first-----"Hello, there. uhh Zyrius." he said, holding up a hand. "mhm, Name's Zoey." she Answered back, Shaking his hand in return.

Zoey leaned in a bit closer, lowering her voice so only Zyrius could hear. As the teacher continued explaining the lesson, she casually tapped her pen against her notebook, the rhythm of it almost soothing.

“So, you’re gonna want to know about the people around here,” she started, casting a quick glance around the classroom. "I mean, I guess you’ll find out anyway, but it helps to have a heads-up." She paused, letting the quiet hum of the classroom fill the space between them.

Zyrius raised an eyebrow, clearly interested. “Heads-up about who?”

Zoey gave a small, knowing smile. “About my friends and—uh—Aiden.”

Zyrius tilted his head, not sure who Aiden was, but intrigued enough to listen.

“Okay, so first off,” Zoey said, leaning in a bit more, “there’s my friend group. Pretty chill. We’ve got Xen, who’s basically a human golden retriever—always super energetic, loves sports, that kind of thing. Then there's Xen—she’s into anime and art, so you’ll probably end up talking to her if you’re into that. And then there’s me, of course,” she added with a little grin. “I’m, like, the unofficial 'group mom,' always keeping them in check.”

Zyrius chuckled softly. “Sounds like an interesting bunch.”

“Yeah, it’s fun. But,” Zoey’s voice lowered again, her eyes flicking across the room to the far side where a senior was sitting, arms crossed, face impassive. "Then there’s Aiden."

Zyrius followed her gaze, spotting a tall guy with dark hair, wearing a hoodie that looked like it hadn't been washed in a while. He was leaning back in his seat, eyes half-closed, but still very much alert.

“Aiden,” Zoey continued, her tone becoming a little more serious, “is... well, he’s a senior. A little cold, you could say. Doesn't really get along with most people. You might see him around in the halls, but I wouldn’t try to get close unless he warms up to you.”

Zyrius blinked, confused. “So, he’s not friendly?”

Zoey shrugged. “Not really. He keeps to himself a lot. If you say ‘hi,’ he’ll probably just nod or give you a one-word answer. He doesn’t like small talk. But... he’s really smart, and people respect him for that. Just... yeah, don’t expect him to be part of the group anytime soon. He’s kind of got this ‘I’m too cool for all of you’ vibe, you know?”

Zyrius thought for a moment. “Sounds like he’s just... distant?”

Zoey smirked. “You could say that. But if you ever end up in one of his classes or need help with something, just know he’s a bit of a lone wolf. Not super approachable, but not exactly mean either.”

She glanced back at Aiden again, who was now flipping through a book with an unreadable expression. “Anyway, just don’t take it personally. If he gives you the cold shoulder, it’s probably just how he is.”

Zyrius nodded slowly, taking in the information. "Got it. I'll... keep my distance unless he shows interest."

Zoey smiled. "Yeah, that's probably for the best. But hey, you’re new here. Just make sure to hang out with us if you need a breather from all the weirdness."

“Thanks,” he said, a little relieved. “I appreciate it.”

The bell rang just then, signaling the end of the class. As the students started gathering their things, Zoey gave Zyrius an easygoing look.

“Ready to survive your first day?” she asked, standing up and slinging her bag over her shoulder.

Zyrius nodded, feeling a little less overwhelmed. “I guess not.”

The lecture came on and on After until the end of his college hours. When it did end, he walked off to the cafeteria to grab food and eventually, Zoey Guided him since he often forgot where he was and where to go. Even Zoey thought he had Alzheimer, Zoey led him toward a table that consists of 2 people----A 5'9 tall boy with a phone clutched between His hands in landscape with a game opened on the screen. And a navy haired girl with Silver glasses playing her phone while eating seasoned mashed potato.

"HEYYYYYYYY LOOK WHO I GOT HERE, GANG"

Zoey excitedly started, Putting her arm around Zyrius' shoulders. "Yo, My name is Xen." Says the Navy blue haired girl. Looking up from her phone to take in the view of Zyrius' appearance. "Hey, I'm Zyrius."

"OI, LANCE. INTRODUCE UR FUCKING SELF." Xen yelled, smacking the 5'9 boy beside her who was currently focusing on the game. "FUCK YOU? I LOST BECAUSE OF YOU, SMARTASS." Lance yelled back, yanking her hair towards his direction. "YOU FUCKING BASTARD-"

It went like that for a while and both Zoey and Zyrius decided to get their food instead of watching a duo fight over a game. The food picking took a while before they actually came back to the table where They were at a couple minutes ago.

When they settled, The 5'9 Tall boy introduced himself. "Oh, yeah. By the way, I'm Lance. And sorry for the interruption. This bitch kept disturbing me." he mumbled, mostly to roast Xen as he eyed her.

"EXCUSE ME? BITCH, IM A QUEEN." Xen offendedly replied, putting a hand over her chest in mock offense. Lance just rolled his eyes before focusing back to his game.
