Chapter 1&2

Calgary, Province Alberta, Canada

  A heavy downpour hit the small city of Calgary with full force , not a single person was in sight. It was as if the entire place was deserted. In apartment Shelby stood in the kitchen washing the dishes whole discussing with her husband 'Mark '. They lived there alone cause their children were all grown up and married and lives in another city .

   " Dear the energy bills has reduced it looks like our new governor is really pampering us " she said wiping her hands on the napkin

   He chuckles , his eyes on his phone " well my dear I won't argue with you on that "

   " Yeah right " she smirks

  They hear someone knocking on their door

   " Uh who's that , it's midnight already " mark said standing up

   Shelby looks at him in fear " I hope it's not robbers "

   " don't be ridiculous shel , robbers don't knock on people's door " he said walking towards the door with her following closely behind

  They open the door to see a you g girl probably in her early twenties leaning on the door frame and she was pregnant, it looked eight months gone . The lady was looking so exhausted and lean , she was soaked from head to toe, her clothes was worn out and torn .

   Shelby gasps in surprise as she looks at her niece she hasn't seen in six years " oh my gosh Scarlett"

   " A- Aunt " she mutters tiredly

  Shelby ushers her in , leading her to the bathroom and bathing her with warm water to prevent cold .

  Mark watches in amazement as his wife gently feeds the strange girl with utmost care and then leads her to the guest room and puts her to sleep

   " Well ... " She said smiling

  " Well what , who is she ? " He asks

  She sighs " well she's my sister's daughter, the one I told you about that cut ties with me for more than 6 yrs now "

  " Really "

  " Yeah "

  " So what is she doing here "

  Shelby sighs " I really don't know but we will find out tomorrow morning but please let her stay here "

  He nods " alright but the baby , who is going to take of of him / her "

  " We will discover tomorrow darling " she pecks his cheek"

NXT MORNING

   Scarlett wakes up still aching all over , her body longed for more sleep but her stomach screamed otherwise. She reluctantly stands up and heads downstairs, catching the scent of fried eggs , sausages and baked bread with jam . Her belly growls as if telling her to go for it .

    " Good morning scarl " Shelby said beaming at her niece as she dishes out the food

   Scarlett smiles " good morning aunt and uncle"

  " Morning Scarlett " Mark said " come seat and fill your belly, I'm sure it's singing to you by now "

  She flushes red and bites her lips trying to hold back tears , she gently seats down , rubbing her cute baby bump and hungrily stuffs her mouth with sausages, taking up to three bites , she suddenly bursts into tears .

  Shelby looks at her startled " what's wrong dear "

  " Are you okay , is the food not up to your liking " Mark asks

   Scarlett shakes her head " no not at all , it's been so long since I ate something sweet that's why . "

  " You will get used to it okay " Shelby said hugging her , she could not imagine what her niece has gone through cause ordinary fried eggs is making her cry like this

   Mark looks at her in sympathy " you're welcome to stay here my dear "

    She smiles lightly and hugs her aunt back " I thought you will kick me out if I come "

   Shelby looks at her puzzled" why would I do that "

   " Well that's what my mom has been telling other relatives to do "

   She scoffs " dear your mom and I hasn't spoken to each other for more than 6 yrs now and even if she tells me to do that I'll will never and ever do that "

  " Very true " mark adds filling his coffee cup

  Scarlett rests her head on her aunt's body smiling sadly " my boyfriend denied this pregnancy and his mother who never supported our relationship took the opportunity to kick me out . Mom was ashamed thinking I tried to pin another man's child on the world's Billonare heir so so she disowned me and dad could not even say anything. I was sent packing without any money or clothes so I had to beg strangers for money , some gave me while some chased me away "

   " Oh baby " Shelby said already in tears " she hugs her tightly " I can't believe my sister YOUR BLOOD MOTHER will do something like that to you . Anyways I don't care who the father of this baby is because we're going to take good care of him and you okay "

  " Thank you so much aunt " Scarlett said crying in her arms

4 YEARS LATER

  Scarlett is seating in front of her makeup mirror brushing her hair hurriedly . She wasn't that girl you saw 4 yrs ago , this Scarlett you're seeing now is the prettiest version. She added weight in the right places ( butt , hips , breasts ) her hour glass figure was top notch and her small round oval face was surrounded by her long black shiny silky hair , her skin glowed like it has been kissed by the sun . You won't even know that she is a mother of a 3 yr old son turning four this year .

  Her son 'Aiden' walks in frowning, he bore a stricking resemblance to his father , the dark full silky hair , brown hazel eyes and a handsome face infact he was the younger version of his dad 'liam'

  Scarlett always avoided talking about Liam, whenever Aiden asks of him she simply tells him he died long time ago. Having denied his own son from the womb that makes him dead to Aiden and her, she will make sure he never lays his eyes on her son .

  " Mommy can I come with you this time " he said eagerly

  Scarlett sighs and picks him up not wanting to turn this cute face down but she had no choice. " I'm sorry baby, you've school today uh "

   He pouts his lips frowning his brows reminding her of a particular someone " when can I go then "

   " Once your school is on holiday I promise okay " she kisses his chubby cheeks

    Aunt Shelby who Aiden usually calls grandma walks in

  " well well someone is late for school and oh another one is late for work also " she said teasingly

  Scarlett gasps looking at the time " yeah that's true " she pecks Aiden again and gently gives gives him to her before rushing downstairs

   She greets her uncle watching morning news, forcing a cup of warm coffee down her throat and blows kiss to them before dashing outside yelling goodbye.

COCTO INNOVATIONS

    Scarlett is smartly dressed in a white long sleeve shirt and pencil black skirt with long slit at the front . She catwalks inside

   " Uh what's going on " she looks around puzzled as she sees everyone packing their things with a frown on their face while some was sobbing , everywhere was crowded with moving people

   She sights a good friend of hers stepping out from their department with a large carton box in her hand , she walks up to her .

   " Ruby what's going on "

  Ruby looks at her almost in tears " our company has been bankrupt for months now na done of us had an idea , only focus to me come this morning to learn that a large organization bought our company and fired all of us (employees) and we're told to leave immediately! "

  " What ! " Scarlett yells in disbelief feeling her heart drop to the ground, how will she further her son's education and also support uncle and aunt in their business with now job , it's almost impossible to get a decent paying job in Calgary

   "I've never been so shocked, I really don't know where to start from . I'm relocating to France to stay with my parents " Ruby said sighing

   " You're traveling"

   She nods " that's what they requested, I'll miss you girl "

   Scarlett hugs her " same here hon ,we will talk over the phone okay "

  " Yeah and oh CEO wants to see you urgently so you've got go there now " she said

 " Oh okay " Scarlett said

  Ruby nods and they say their goodbyes and part ways

  At the CEO office, everything is disorganized, files and documents everywhere and the ceo was looking really exhausted

  " Err hi morning" Scarlett mutters " not sure if she should add the good to the morning

  Frank smiles and gestures her to seat " I'm sure you've been told why happened so I'll get straight to the point "

  " But why did Cocto become bankrupt , we were doing fine before" she asks

   Frank sighs " it happened like a dream to me , we could not keep up the economy demands so we're eaten by the hungry wolves. Anyways the company bought here giving me a large price even you can't resist... So you know you're the hardworking and honest type so I don't want your talent to waste , I've secured a job for you in the company's headquarters. It's still the same work you're doing here but with a huge fat salary and more benefits, that is the only way I can console you .

   " Wow " Scarlett said surprised " that is a lot for me to take in but where is the headquarters anyway "

 He grins " Toronto in Ontario"

  Scarlett body stiffens at the name and bad memories of 4 yrs ago rushed in , tge very ones she has been trying to forget . She struggles to breathe as she heard her mother voice in her head , loud and clear STAY AWAY FROM THIS CITY , I MUST NOT SEE YOU ANYWHERE AROUND HERE IF NOT YOU WILL FACE MT WRATH

  Working in Toronto will definitely increase her chances to see Liam and other people that hurt her . She is so joy ready to face her painful past again , Liam might even take Aiden away from her if he finds out him

  ". Mrs blackwood are you okay, I've been calling your name since " frank said puzzled

   Scarlett smiles nervously " thanks for your kindness Mr Frank but it is very impossible for me to work in Toronto, I've a life , family here "

  He sighs " alright, come back whenever you change your mind okay "

   " Yes sir " she said and leaves

TORONTO, PROVINCE ONTARIO

   Liam sat majestically on his office chair swinging side to side gently, his sharp eagle's eye scanning the file containing the company's budget and of course it was not well planned , his cold gaze meets the trembling manager

   " How many times do I've to tell you not to make a low budget and present it to me huh " he said coldly

  The manager bows still trembling, I'm very boss , I'll have my team do it again "

  Liam scoffs as flings the file in the floor and the manager picks it and scrams outside

  Rylan his PA and childhood best friend grins and pats his shoulder " I don't think you can ever change ice man "

    He scoffs " there is no need to change "

    " Yeah " Rylan said not pressing any further on the matter , having known him for more than 15 yrs now he can read his expression and knows when he doesn't want to talk about something.

    Rylan has been by his side since he became Reynolds enterprise CEO and is his most trusted employee.

   " Any updates from the acquisition deal " Liam asks signing some documents

   " Oh yes " Rylan said bringing out his tablet. " we successfully bought COCTO INNOVATIONS and as I'm speaking with you our workers are there making necessary changes "

    Liam nods " that's good , send some agents to check on it again first thing tomorrow morning and give me updates "

   " Of course and oh COCTO CEO also said he has a rare talent he will like to give the company she works in the finance department, are you okay with this " Rylan asks

    " Yeah whatever" he brushes it off , his phone rings and it was his fiancee ' Camilla ' calling " oh gosh what does she want now "

   Rylan tries his beat to hold a laughter that was threaten to break out , Liam sensing it glares at him ...

Liam : hello , Milla you should know I'm at work why the disturbance

Milla: you did not turn up for our date yesterday*sad*

Liam : * rubbing his eyes* I remember telling you that it is impossible for me to make it so stop your tantrums

Milla : I'll tell mom you're bullying me

Liam: *not moved* how childish, go ok then , I really don't have your time milla... I'll take you for another date tomorrow stop disturbing me

Milla : *smiles happily* no probs, I love you so much

Liam : * looking as if she just spoke Chinese * bye * hangs up*

   " Mr ice man , you're bullying your fiancee " Rylan said smirking

   Liam scoffs turning on his laptop " shut up Rylan "

Chapter 3&4

ROBERT'S APARTMENT

Scarlett sighs as she puts her head on the kitchen counter feeling like it was gonna burst any time soon , she's the only one at home cause her uncle went to work and her aunt went to pick Aiden from school.

Her Aunt Shelby has really done a lot for her , what her own mother couldn't do is what she did , treating Aiden like her own grandson and taking care of him since Scarlett gave birth to him .

°I can't just leave , Aiden needs me , aunt and uncle needs me . I've a life here already even though I don't have a job ° she thought groaning

Facing people from her past is another problem, Liam, her parents..... Gosh she so don't want to see them anymore especially Liam.

" Mommy !! "

A cute tiny voice yells , Shelby leads grinning Aiden inside and he catapults himself to his mom's body

" Oh baby " Scarlett said hugging him tightly and pouring kisses on his chubby cheeks

Shelby giggles as she watches them high each other like they've not seen each other in ages

" Good afternoon aunt shel " Scarlett said pecking her on the cheek " how was your day "

She smiles " it was fine dear , you're back early what happened"

Scarlett sighs and carries Aiden who was trying to climb her body " that's a long story aunt, I'll fill you in once uncle returns. I want the two of you there when I'm saying it "

" It sounds serious " shel said looking a little worried

" It is serious aunt" she replied inhaling Aiden sweet flora scent

Later in the night mark was around and they had eaten dinner and Aiden was fast asleep, Scarlett explains everything to them .

" Wow " mark said surprised " COCTO suddenly going bankrupt might be the CEO's fault and now he's offering you a chance to work in a bigger company but .... "

" She can't go there because of she might meet her mom \*sighs\* this is serious " Shelby said frowning

Scarlett looks down sadly " I can't take Aiden along with me and it's impossible for me to leave him here " *her eyes glistening with tears*

Mark sighs feeling the weight of the tough decision " to be honest , I support whatever you choose, whether to take the job and face your past or to reject it and hide here forever "

" Mark ! " Shelby snaps hitting him " don't mind him darling but he's right you know cause there's no how you won't come across the people from your past , that's just how life is you will always face it "

She sighs " I know I'll have to face it but I was not expecting it to be soon , Aiden is just three "

" He will be four this year but that's not the point, what is important is that you've to buckle up and face them . Don't you have thoughts of getting married so that Aiden can experience fatherly love , it doesn't have to be Liam you know " Mark said

Scarlett bites her lips , she really has not imagined getting married to anyone else , if she had to , Liam is the only one that comes to her mind

" I-I will think about it " she said I'm a tiny voice

Shelby sighs " alright dear , remember we support any decision you make "

COCTO INNOVATIONS

Scarlett steps inside taking a deep breath, she scans the empty place not a single person was in sight.

° is Mr Frank even around ° she thought entering inside the elevator heading to his office

She enters inside the office, it was almost empty , everything important was gone . Scarlett smiles sadly and look around the place she once called her work place , memories of her having fun with her colleagues especially Ruby still lingers in the air .... She is so going to miss everyone.

Frank enters the office holding a suitcase, he looked surprised to see her " ah Miss Roberts, I'm thought I won't see you again \*smiles\* you're with good news I presume"

She smiles nervously and perches on the chair he gestured for her to seat " well I do have good news "

" Brilliant, I guess you've accepted the offer " he said

" Yes sir "

Frank smiles lightly, he will miss a rare talent like her " that is good *sighs* well lemme send the email to them right now "

He turns on his laptop and sends the email to them and within two secs they reply him

" Ah they never disappoint, well they've accepted the offer and want you to resume in two weeks time " he said smiling and shakes her

Scarlett smiles wearily " well sir I've not even asked for the company's name "

He looks at her surprised " oh I've not told you * she nods* that's weird , I thought that was the first thing I told you ... Anyways the name is Reynolds enterprise, I'm sure must have heard the name cause their currently leading in the business market "

Scarlett felt the world paused for a second, her heart literally dropped to her feet and her blood turned cold , she became so fucking pake and her heart started beating madly, unwanted memories came rushing in ....

" Miss Roberts! , I've been calling your name for a whole now are you okay " frank said looking at her pale face .

She shakes her head " I can't no I just can't "

" Can't what" he said confused, she looked like she might faint anytime soon " are you okay "

Scarlett looks at him in panic " I can't work there anymore, I've changed my mind "

He looks at her as if she had gone mad " I'm sorry Miss Roberts that is very impossible, I've sent the email to them .. you were even there when I sent it , you could have stopped me *frowns* they've even replied me so they're expecting you in two weeks time "

She holds her laps to stop the trembling of her fingers

ROBERT'S APARTMENT

Scarlett explains everything to her aunt and uncle who was looking so shocked

" Now this is what I can twist of fate " mark said taking a bite from his cookies

Shelby sighs and hugs her " calm down darling, that stress yourself"

" Mommy where are you going? " Aiden said blinking cutely and walks to her , he was watching cartoons on his tablet while lying on the couch but it looked like he overheard what they were saying

Scarlett carries him up and he snuggles close to her like he wanted to enter her body " mommy's not going anywhere okay , she's just joking"

" Oh boy this won't be easy " mark mutters shaking his head

Later at night , Scarlett puts him to sleep in his small but well arranged room .

She stares at him as he slept deeply, her eyes on his handsome face which he got from his father. The resemblance is so much that you don't have to look twice to tell that Liam is the dad

" Why do you have to look like that idiot so much huh , you took everything he has , eyes , hair , nose, mouth *sighs* you did not even inherit anything from me even though I suffered so much because of you and you still did not pity me and look like me so things will easy for us but you went ahead and took that son of a bitch face , making it difficult for me to move on and forget about him . She said sobbing and cradles him in her arms .

TWO WEEKS LATER

Scarlett boards a plane going to Toronto in Ontario, it wasn't easy to say good to her honey pumpkin and her aunt and uncle but dhd had too . She promised to come back for her don after she finds Toronto safe for him and yeah to call him every day .

She sighs and leans back on the chair in the plane , the one next to her was empty and it wasn't a problem to her , she kisses the bead bracelet Aiden made for her ° I miss him already °

A flight attendant passes and smiles to her " are you comfortable ma'am"

Scarlett smiles back " yeah thank you but can you please direct me to the restroom"

" Oh no problem ma'am , it's just that way , after this section " the flight attendant said

Scarlett thanks her and rushes off

In the first class section a young man probably in his mid twenties sat lazily on his chair while his assistant 'cedric' read updates about the company's project to him

He is Caspian nightingale, the world's 2nd Billonare CEO (you can guess who the number one is )

" Well I don't regret partnering with them " he said dryly in his sexy musculine voice

Cedric smiles " this deal has made our company a lot of profit sir "

" So where are we on the world's billboard charts" Caspian said spinning his glass cup

Cedric smiles nervously knowing this will spoil his mood " well number two sir "

He frowns " what do you mean number two , this deal is supposed to make us number one "

" Well.... Reynolds enterprise still managed to take the number one spot " Cedric said shifting back

Caspian laughs dryly" that bastard has taken my spot again and again

It wasn't a secret to the public that Caspian has always competited with Liam in every single thing and they were public enemies since Caspian refused to admit that Liam is bigger than him in every way ..

A lady dashes in looking perplexed, she dashes into the corrider leading to the restroom . Caspian looks shocked, her beauty was one of the things that stunned him , long flying hair and the most dreamy eyes he has ever seen .

" Who is she " he wishers

Before Cedric could reply ther bodyguards run inside panting

" We're so sorry sir , she slipped past us " one of them said bowing

Caspian looks even more confused, how can a fragile lady get past his well trained bodyguards .

Scarlett suddenly suddenly steps out , humming and looking very relieved. She has been holding the urine since she got inside the plane .

She pauses as her gaze meets men in suits , their eyes was on her like she was a television, her eyes meets the one in the middle and damn she felt her knees going weak , he was so handsome but nah still didn't meet Liam's physique.

The bodyguards wanted to grab her but Caspian stops them

" It's okay , leave " he said smirking

They bow and leave

Cedric looks at his boss puzzled wondering why he told them to leave ,and wait what is that obvious glint in his eyes .

" You ran straight to my domain little lamb " Caspian said still smirking

She shivers and lowers her head " I'm so sorry, thank you so much for helping me " .

He chuckles " no problem but don't forget you owe me one "

Scarlett bows and dashes outside, wondering how she will pay him back .

Scarlett takes a deep breath as she stood at the airport in Ontario, the place was bustling with people going on and out .

" You can do this , fighting! " She mutters and drags her suitcase towards the exit .

From afar Caspian watches her with a smile on his face , this cutie has just won a special place in his heart

" Get me all the information about her " he mutters and enters the Lexus already waiting for him

Cedric nods trying not to sigh , his boss is find of troubling him with stupid things.

REYNOLD'S MANSION

Camilla and Liam's mom 'Evelyn' were having tea at the magnificent garden .

" Mom I don't think is easy , your son is a difficult person" Camilla said frowning

Evelyn sighs " yeah I know he's stone hearted and very stubborn but my dear the flame of your love can melt his heart "

Camilla sighs dreamingly, imagining what it would be like if Liam finally falls in love with her " I can't wait for that to happen mom "

She smiles " well hold your title as soon to be Mrs Reynold very tight cause ladies are all over my handsome son "

" I will make sure they don't go anywhere near my Liam " Camilla replies frowning

Evelyn chuckles and looks at her watch " well he will be here soon , I sent a text to him "

Camilla gasps in excitement and arranges her hair

Soon Liam works in looking drop dead handsome in his work suit and his - die -me -hard speck was speaking volume already. His bodyguards followed behind closely while Rylan was right by his side of course

" My son " Evelyn said smiling as he pecks her cheek and smiles wearily to Camilla who waved to him

He sits next to her " how are you ladies doing"

Evelyn frowns " I'm fine but your fiancee is not , why are you neglecting her because of work huh , your father wasn't like that at all so I wonder who you inherited that from "

°oh God ° Liam said inwardly another round of lecture, if he had known this was going to happen he would have just made an excuse not to come

" I'm expecting wedding bells soon " Evelyn said ignoring the irritated look on his face

Liam sighs " of course , no problem I'll inform Rylan to get a bell first thing tomorrow morning and ring it your ears "

Rylan grins trying to hold his laughter while Camilla looks at him annoyed

" Liam ! This is a serious matter " she snaps " now we're going to give you guys privacy to you know talk things out " Evelyn said standing up and shoos the rest outside

Camilla sighs and looks at Liam whose gaze was on the door " I'm sorry "

" What "

She sighs holding her tears " it's my fault for falling in love with you \*sobs\* I'm sorry for putting you in this situation"

Liam sighs feeling somehow guilty " it's okay I'm going to get used to it "

She smiles wearily not knowing if she should be happy or not " I blame my stupid heart for falling in love with you , I thought things will be different if we get engaged but .... "

" Look it's none of us fault okay , look I won't assure you that I'll fall in love with you but trust me I will care and cherish you even when we get married I'll remain faithful to you " he said sincerely

Camilla looks at him surprised, is he the one that is saying all this ! damn he is so falling for her , she is happy that she took his mom's advice

" Thank you " she said smiling and hugs him

He sighs and pats her shoulders not hugging her back .

Camilla pulls away and kisses him softly

He froze in shock and pushes the image of Scarlett far from his head , grabs her ass and seats her on his lap kissing her with the same energy, exploring every part of her mouth .

LUX MOTEL

Scarlett yawns tiredly as she goes through the information her ex boss sent to her about the Reynolds enterprise

" Well they're one big organization" she mutters still yawning and kisses her son's picture

" gosh I miss you so much " she thought and stands up craving for fresh air outside

Scarlett looks around happily as she takes pictures of the beautiful city of Toronto, it now looked different and more bigger ,she smiles and takes a picture of a huge restaurant hoping to come back and eat there.

Inside the restaurant Mary and her friends were having a get together party , they were talking about the latest fashion magazine and trending shoes and then boasting about their husband's wealth.

During this part Mary kept quiet cause she had nothing to boast of , her husband business was struggling to survive and her only pride which was her daughter Scarlett was gone after disgracing them .

Her gaze meets a very familiar figure standing outside through the glass door " no way " she mutters and stands up walking outside

Scarlett smiles as she goes through the pictures she took " Aiden will love this one , I can't wait to bring him over "

" You disgraceful child !!! " Someone yells

Scarlett looks back confused and she gasps in shock , her mom was storming towards her with full force . " M-Mom "

"Shut up, never call me that you wrench " Mary yells

She recoils and steps back , Mary's voice was already gathering attention

Mary glares at her disgusted " how dare you show your face here again , after the shame you brought on us "

" I'm came here to work , believe me I've no intention of crossing paths with you " Scarlett said trying not to cry , people were looking at them already.

She scoffs " work my foot , the only thing you're good at is spelling your body to men , old men are not left out "

" Mom that's not.... " Scarlett starts to say but she cuts her off with two slaps on her face

Onlookers gasps in shock

Scarlett holds her aching cheek in shock, the pain there wasn't up to the one in her heart. Her own mother was treating her like this , not even bothering to listen to her own side of the story .

" Look here you slut , don't even try to go near Liam cause he is now engaged to the love of his life and never ever ahow your face to me again , I'm trying to bring our family tup again ever since you dragged us down because of that bastard child you carried . So go back to the hole you crawled out from , we're doing perfectly fine without you " Mary spat and walks away

Scarlett knees give out an she falls to the ground crying seriously, the pain in her heart increase over and over again, she doesn't even know which part of her mom's words hurt her most weather it's the part that Liam is now engaged or her bringing disgrace to the family...

Onlookers look in pity as she continues crying.

Mary storms into their mini mansion angrily, ever since Scarlett left , the Reynolds seized all the properties that was given to them so this mini mansion was the only property they have left .

" Did the meeting with your friends end badly" her husband ken asks

Mary scoffs " I wish it did cause I would not be upset like this, I bumped into Scarlett outside the restaurant"

" What " he exclaimed in shock , he hasn't heard from his daughter in four years . To be honest he was disappointed in her behavior cause it cost them their reputation

" Mum what did I hear you say ! Scarlett is in this city ?? " Yvonne their younger daughter said ascending from the stairs

Yvonne is the last born of the family while Scarlett is the older sister (Two girls) . One look at Yvonne face you will know she is pampered, ever since Scarlett left all the attention was showered on her , Mary originally wanted to hook her up with Liam but he severed all ties with their family .

Before Scarlett lost her glory , she was the golden child of the family, her parents pampered her to the core especially when she started dating Liam . Yvonne was like an outcast so she never liked her sister at all but now Scarlett is gone all the attention is now on her .

" Yes darling Scarlett is in the city again even after I warned her never to set foot here " Mary said sighing

Yvonne folds her fist angrily, she knows her parents won't accept Scarlett back again but she's worried about Liam cause they might meet and fall in love again. All her efforts to make him fall for her will now be put to waste , her competing with his fiancee was hard enough not to talk of Scarlett in the picture.

" Mom do you think she's here to make Liam in love with her " she said

Mary scoffs " fall my foot , that is very impossible, Liam is with a fiancee so he won't even look at her , don't worry about her dear she's not a threat to us"

Yvonne nods her head hoping her mom was correct cause she can't bear to lose Liam to Scarlett again

MORENO VILLA

Camilla smiles dreamingly and seats on the couch, touching her lips , she can't get the image of her and Liam kissing.

It was hot and intense, he almost ate her whole, even though it wasn't her first kiss but it was totally the best and she is so going to treasure it forever, like finally he is opening up to her .

She sighs again and hugs the huge stuffed teddy bear, not noticing when her friend Kathrine sat at her front looking at the dreamy expression on her face .

" Girl what's with you " she asks confused cause she hardly see her like this

Camilla smiles and hugs the teddy bear more tightly, imagining it to be Liam " you won't believe it "

She sighs " just tell me , you know I believe whatever you say "

" Well... " Camilla explains everything to her not leaving out a single information

Katherine mouth drops open " oh my gosh , I never knew that stoned faced guy is a good kisser, damn baby girl.. I'll will be hearing wedding bells soon "

Camilla giggles feeling her face going red , she could imagine what it feels like being Miss Reynold, his one and only wife and damn it felt so good . She stuffed her face into the teddy trying not to scream from excitement.

KAIDE PENTHOUSE

Rylan is in his study preparing an email on his laptop, Liam needs it first thing tomorrow morning.

It is very obvious that he is a workaholic , it was as if he was competing the title with Liam because they're both good in it .

Rylan originally wasn't from a rich family but his parents weren't poor either , his intelligence made way for him through school years , it was in high school that he met Liam and they've been friends since then . Being the PA to the CEO of the most biggest Amazon companies in the world made him rich so yeah he can afford anything he wants without stress.

He sighs and sends the email to Liam holding back a yawn , living alone has its own advantage and disadvantage. He can work to his satisfaction without being distracted but he misses the sound of laughter and warmth of someone his heart won't stop aching whenever he thought of her .

Ariel winter was his girlfriend since high school, he had always thought he will end up with her but her betrayal shook him to the core . She was sleeping with another guy for a year and when he found out he was heartbroken, she didn't even denied it , she broke up with him and walked away .

Rylan stands up and heads to his bar downstairs drinking away his thoughts leaving his mind blank .

Scarlett is on a video call with her aunt and Aiden

Aiden : so when I visit you mommy

Scarlett: *smiles* immediately I rent my own apartment okay

Aiden : *pouts* I still don't know why you won't let me come tomorrow or are you hiding another son there

Scarlett: *laughs* baby, you're my one and only honey pumpkin. Nobody can replace you

Aiden : *grins* I love you mommy *blows her a kiss*

Scarlett: I love you too baby

Shelby : *ruffles his hair* alright dear we have to end the call now , your mom has a big day tomorrow

Scarlett: I promise to call okay

They say goodbye and hang up

Scarlett yawns and lies down on the bed , she stretches on the bed hugging the pillow.

The image of her mom slapping her was still clear on her mind , she bites her lips and try to ignore the pain in her heart when she remembers that Liam is now engaged.

" So he never trusted me uh , I blame myself for falling in love with him, now I'm alone with a son he denies being the father while he has found the love of his life " she mummers crying silently.

FLASHBACK [8 yrs ago]

A younger version of Scarlett probably in her late teens skipped happily on the pedestrian lane in the busy streets of Toronto.

" Today is so going to be a good day , I found this good luck coin " she said grinning and pauses waiting to cross the road , without even looking at the traffic lights she dashes into the road. A car screeches and stops , almost bumping into her

She gasps " hey are you blind or what ! You almost bumped into me "

The car door opens and a handsome boy in his late teens stepped out frowning, his handsome features were so obvious, Scarlett gulped trying to ignore it .

" You just popped out of nowhere brat , didn't you look at the traffic lights before crossing" he said coldly

Scarlett scoffs,rich kids of nowadays.... They always think they're the one in control " well fuck you and your stupid car " purposely bumps into him and kicks the boot of his car with her shoes and storms off

Liam looks at her in shock " what the fuck , did I just encountered a patient that escaped from the psychiatrist hospital...

Scarlett wipes her tears but more where still pouring out " I wish I never met you Liam Reynolds, you have hurt me so bad that even time can't heal the wounds "

Nxt day

Liam sighs as he listens to what Rylan was reading to him about the company 'Bluestone limited ' they're having a meeting with anytime soon . Their reputation wasn't so bad but they're still not up to his high standards infact all the company they work with can't even reach half of his company.

" So Liam , that is all from what their secretary sent to me " Rylan said closing the file he was holding

Liam drags his gaze to him " why is your voice sounding like that and your eyes are somehow red , don't tell me you spent the entire night drinking"

He smiles nervously, no matter how hard he tried to hide it , Liam will always find out and it's somehow creepy. " Not really I just wanted to forget someone"

Liam scoffs not pressing on the matter anymore of course he knows the someone he is talking about "Don't throw up anywhere near me "

The door opens slightly and a beautiful lady steps inside, she is his secretary, her appearance alone makes men chase after her but not for Liam or Rylan .

" Sir the bluestone CEO is already in the meeting room " she said in the sweetest voice she could form

Liam ignores her totally, his eyes on his laptop, it was as if she was not even in the room

Rylan sighs already used to his behavior " you can leave indigo, inform them the CEO will be arriving soon "

She bows and leaves her heart aching from the snobbish attitude he just displayed.

Who won't see Liam and fall for him immediately, his cold hazel brown eyes alone sends shivers to your spine not to talk of his own muscular features, his biceps were still visible in his work suit , He is a perfect definition of prince charming.

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Scarlett smiles nervously as the manager leads her into their department, her heart could not stop pounding madly, it won't be a surprise of she has a cardiac arrest. Different thoughts of her bumping into Liam or his PA following in her mind .

" Okay everyone, this is Scarlett blackwood she will be working with us as from today " the manager said getting their attention

Scarlett waves anxiously, their eyes on her were eating deep on her " nice to meet you all "

" Same " they reply smiling

" Okay Scarlett, that side is your cubicle, your own Mini office, all the things you need to do are already on the desk so you can start right away " manager said pointing to the place and leaves even before she could say a word.

Scarlett makes her way to her cubicle trying ignore the curious stares of her co workers , her beauty was drawing eyes to her like magnet .

She seats down and turns on her computer, feeling somehow overwhelmed, of course why won't she feel that when she was in Liam's territory.... Someone taps on her desk snapping her out her thoughts

The lady smiles and waves , she was about her age or younger and damn her beauty was top notch.

" Hi newbie, I'm crystal lane nice to meet you " she said extending her hand for a handshake

Scarlett smiles and shakes it , at least someone is willing to be her friend unlike the rest that was throwing occasional glances at her

" Scarlett blackwood ,nice to meet you too " she said

Crystal smiles and leans closer , this lady seems nice and she likes her already " I thought I will be the young staff forever but here you are "

" That's how life is ... So can you tell me more about here " Scarlett asks

Crystal claps in glee " of course, first thing you need to know is that our manager is always trying to please the CEO so if he turns his back in you just to please him don't be surprised and also as for the CEO \*sighs\* he is the devil himself, cold , rude and doesn't give a damn about anyone, it's a surprise that he has a fiancee\*groans\* I hate that lady she's like a white lutos , always pretending to be innocent but she's pretty that I won't deny that aside let's skip to the main part , his PA Rylan kaide \*sighs dreamingly\* he is everything a girl can dream for ... And he is not cold or rude like his boss rumours say they're best friends and last but not the least is the annoying persky CEO secretary, indigo\*scoffs\* she thinks she's the boss and a big miss - I - know - it - all .

" Wow " Scarlett mutters, these are part of the obstacles she will face working here

Crystal sighs " it's surprising right *she looks at her watch her gasp* two hours to lunch , I still have a mountain of income statements to type , bye scarl "

She goes to her own cubicle

2 hours later

Liam steps out of the meeting room surrounded by bodyguards and Rylan by his side . He rejected to partner with the company for no genuine reason .

Rylan sighs adjusting his glasses " this is the third contract you're rejecting this week Liam "

" Don't start your lecture woman " he said nonchalantly

His eye widens in shock " Liam for the last time I'm not a woman , why will you call me that , did you see boobs and huge ass on me "

Liam puts his hands in his pockets ignoring the employees that bowed immediately they saw him " you nag like a woman *pauses* and oh gosh do have large ass"

"W-what " Rylan stops I'm shock , the bodyguards followings them had no expression on their face , this wasn't the first time they have seen these two men tease each other

He unconsciously sizes his butt wondering where Liam had that thought from .

Liam stops dead and looks around in shock , he heard a laughter that he can recognize from anywhere even if he's asleep " what did I just hear "

" Hear what " Rylan said still frowning

" I heard that slut laughter " he replied

Rylan looks at him surprised, he knows the person he's talking about but her being here was impossible.

At the same place but with a little distance, Scarlett and crystal heading to the cafeteria... Crystal suggested they follow here cause it is the shortest route to the cafeteria.

" Oh my gosh I can't believe your feet is small, awww how cute " she said smiling

Scarlett groans slightly embarrassed " my feet are not small *stops and bends down to check the size* "

Crystal laughs at her reaction and continues walking she stops suddenly and her face white in shock, she could see bodyguards surrounding someone, no fortune teller need to tell her who that is .... bumping into the CEO was a nightmare she was still recovering from . She dashes back and drags confused looking Scarlett to the only room in the hall way and slams the door .

Liam looks at where the sound came from , that increased his curiosity and he heads there.

Rylan instructs two bodyguards to follow them while the rest stay back ,if the cause of that noise was from the person he think it is then she is so doomed , the expression on Liam's face could kill someone at just one glance

At the room , Scarlett looks at crystal still confused " what's going on , why are we hiding

" Shh " she said pressing her back on the door " I saw stone face CEO at the front, if he sees me I'm doomed cause I've not submitted the paperwork he asked for this morning.

Scarlett looks at her in shock, she started finding it difficult to breathe, she knew that she will have to face Liam but she was not expecting it at the first day of work .

" Oh my gosh I hear footsteps coming this way " crystal groans slightly trembling but her fear can't even match Scarlett's own cause ahe is white like chalk and sweating profusely.

The footsteps keeps approaching and it was coming with speed

Scarlett covers her face with her hands , she did not even know when she started saying her last prayer .
