First Love At Starlight Academy

Ep 1 The Weight of a Dead Sun

The floating spires of Starlight Academy drifted within the Azure Nebula, held aloft by gravity anchors that hummed a low, metallic lullaby. To the outside world, it was a crown jewel where the elite "Star-Benders" learned to command the tides of moons. But for Elara, it was a gilded cage.

As a "Grounder" from the soot-stained mining colonies, Elara was a statistical anomaly. While the high-born elite summoned iridescent plasma, Elara struggled to light a single candle. Her power didn't flare upward; it pulled downward. She was a sinkhole in a school of suns, a girl who absorbed energy rather than radiating it.

On the night of the Astral Equinox, Elara sought refuge in the Hollow Gardens, a forbidden terrace where the air was thin and the scent of night-blooms was thick. She wasn't alone for long.

A violent surge of heat scorched the air, making the oxygen feel like liquid lead. Elara spun around to see Kaelen, the Academy’s golden boy, stumbling through the trees. He wasn't the picture of perfection tonight; he was burning a jagged, angry crimson. Steam rose from his shoulders, and the grass turned to ash beneath his boots. He was experiencing a Solar Overload—a catastrophic buildup of energy that usually ended in a fatal explosion.

"Get... away," Kaelen wheezed, collapsing against a marble sundial that cracked under his intensity. "If I flare... I’ll take this entire wing with me."

Elara saw the terror in his eyes—a boy told his whole life he was a god, now realizing he was just a bomb.

"I can help," she whispered, stepping into the blistering heat.

"You're a Grounder!" Kaelen roared, a shockwave of gold energy erupting from him. "You’ll be vaporized!"

"Then let me be vaporized!" Elara lunged forward and clamped her hands onto his wrists.

The impact was like two stars colliding. A pillar of white light shot into the atmosphere, piercing the nebula. Elara felt a flood of fire rushing into her veins—Kaelen’s raw, unfiltered power. But instead of burning, she opened the "valves" of her soul. She acted as a lightning rod, dragging the heat out of him and thrusting it into the Academy’s gravity anchors below.

As the light dimmed, Kaelen slumped forward, his forehead resting against her shoulder. The heat was gone. For the first time, his internal sun was a quiet, manageable ember.

"You're... still here," Kaelen breathed, his blue eyes finally clear.

"I'm still here," she whispered, her heart hammering.

"Kaelen? What is this?"

Lyra stepped into the clearing, her silver hair shimmering like moonlight. As the daughter of the High Admiral and Kaelen’s intended partner, she looked at Elara with pure, celestial fury.

Then, she saw it. Between Kaelen and Elara, a faint, glowing silver thread hummed—a Soul Tether. It was an unbreakable bond of first love and shared destiny. It was beautiful, impossible, and in the eyes of the Academy’s law, it was the ultimate betrayal.

Ep 2 Zero-G Heartbeat

Episode 2: Zero-G Heartbeat

The morning after the "Hollow Gardens incident," the Academy was buzzing like a disturbed hive. Rumors of a massive energy flare had the teachers on edge, but Elara and Kaelen had bigger problems. The Soul Tether—that shimmering silver cord only they could see—was pulling them together like a magnet. Every time they were more than twenty feet apart, a sharp, tugging ache radiated from their chests.

"You're late, Grounder," Lyra hissed as Elara stumbled into the Zero-Gravity Combat Arena.

The arena was a massive glass dome where students practiced maneuvering in mid-air. Today’s lesson was "Synchronized Striking." Students were paired up to blast floating targets using their combined energy. Lyra, looking flawless in her silver combat suit, stood next to Kaelen. She had already claimed him as her partner, as she had done since they were children.

"I’m here," Elara muttered, trying to ignore the way her skin tingled just by being in the same room as Kaelen.

The instructor, a scarred veteran named Master Thorne, barked an order. "Begin! Lyra, Kaelen—you’re up."

Lyra grabbed Kaelen’s hand, ready to channel his famous solar power. But as she tried to pull his energy, the arena’s gravity stabilizers began to glitch. The air flickered. Instead of a gold beam, a jagged, messy spark sputtered out. Kaelen wasn't looking at the target; he was looking at Elara, who was standing across the room.

The Tether between Elara and Kaelen began to hum, glowing so bright that the other students shielded their eyes. It didn't matter who Kaelen was touching; his power only wanted to flow toward Elara.

"What is this?" Lyra demanded, her voice shaking with jealousy. "Kaelen, focus!"

Suddenly, a training drone malfunctioned, spinning out of control and hurtling toward Elara at top speed. Without thinking, Kaelen didn't fire a blast—he reached out his hand across the void. In an instant, Elara felt his strength surge through her. She didn't summon fire; she pulled the gravity around the drone, slamming it into the floor with a heavy thud before it could touch her.

The room went silent. A Grounder had just manipulated gravity—a feat thought impossible.

Lyra’s face turned a dangerous shade of pale. She saw the way Kaelen’s eyes softened as he looked at Elara, and she knew her position was under threat. "Master Thorne," Lyra said, her voice dripping with fake concern, "it seems Elara is... stealing Kaelen's light. For his safety, shouldn't she be expelled?"

Kaelen stepped forward, the silver cord between him and Elara pulsing with a protective light. "She didn't steal it, Lyra. I gave it to her."

The secret was out. Their hearts were linked, and in a school built on status, their "Zero-G" romance had just become the Academy's most dangerous secret.

That was a close call!

Ep 3 The Thrid Orbit

Episode 3: The Third Orbit

The Academy’s annual field trip to the Lunar Outpost was supposed to be a lesson in vacuum-shielding, but for Elara, it felt like walking into a trap. Since the incident in the combat arena, the "Soul Tether" had become more intense. She could feel Kaelen’s moods like a second heartbeat—his anxiety felt like cold static, and his happiness felt like a warm summer breeze.

"Keep your distance," Kaelen warned Elara as they boarded the shuttle. "Lyra’s father is the High Admiral. If she catches us linked again, she’ll report you to the Council."

But hiding was impossible. On the moon’s surface, the gravity was weak, making the tether pull even harder. Every time Elara drifted too far, she felt a physical tug on her soul, pulling her back toward Kaelen.

The Crystal Caves

Lyra approached Elara during the exploration of the Fluorescent Caves, her expression uncharacteristically sweet. "Look, Elara," she said, pointing toward a shimmering crevice. "There’s a rare 'Gravity Core' back there. If you harvest it, you’ll prove to the teachers that a Grounder can handle high-level energy. Kaelen would be so proud."

Elara wanted to prove she was more than just a scholarship kid. She stepped into the narrow tunnel, not noticing the silver glint in Lyra’s hand. With a quick flick of her wrist, Lyra used her light-bending skills to seal the entrance with a wall of solid, frozen stardust.

"Stay there and cool off," Lyra whispered. "Let’s see how Kaelen feels when his little tether is stretched across a vacuum."

The Breaking Point

Inside the cave, the temperature plummeted. Elara’s small sparks weren't enough to keep her warm. As the distance between her and Kaelen grew, the tether began to vibrate violently. It felt like a wire being stretched to the breaking point.

Back at the base, Kaelen suddenly doubled over, clutching his chest. "Elara!" he gasped. He didn't need to see her to know she was in danger. He could feel her air running low; he could feel her heartbeat slowing down.

Ignoring the instructors, Kaelen sprinted toward the caves. Lyra tried to stop him, grabbing his arm. "Kaelen, don't! You'll ruin your reputation for a girl who doesn't belong here!"

Kaelen looked at Lyra, his eyes glowing with a fierce, protective gold. "She belongs wherever I am."

The Resonance

Kaelen found the sealed cave and didn't just blast it—he used the tether. He closed his eyes and sent a wave of pure solar heat through the silver bond. Inside, Elara felt the warmth hit her like a sunbeam. She reached out to the wall, and instead of absorbing the energy, she guided it.

BOOM.

The stardust wall shattered into a million glittering diamonds. Elara stumbled out into Kaelen’s arms. As they held each other, the tether turned a brilliant, pulsing violet—the color of a deep space nebula.

Lyra watched from the shadows, her face twisted in a mix of heartbreak and rage. She realized that she wasn't just fighting a "crush"; she was fighting a cosmic force. If she couldn't break the tether, she would have to break the Academy itself to keep them apart.
