My Roommate Is Definitely Not Straight
Chapter 1
Author
Introduction of our main character (MC) and male lead (ML)
Jiang Nan
Sharp-tongued, expressive, and dramatic in the cutest way
Openly gay and very aware of his own feelings
Pretends to be confident but gets flustered easily
Loves peace, gossip, and complaining about life
Main rule: Do not fall for the roommate
Lu Chen
Calm, handsome, and effortlessly annoying
Claims to be “definitely straight” (suspicious behavior included)
Teases Jiang Nan constantly without realizing why
Protective without admitting it
Main problem: Doesn’t understand his own feelings
Jiang Nan dragged his suitcase down the narrow hallway, wheels rattling like they were protesting his life choices. He paused in front of apartment 403, stared at the door, and sighed.
Jiang Nan(mc)
New city, new life (muttered). Please don’t let this be a mistake.
The moment he pushed the door open, his hope died.
A tall man stood in the living room, shirtless, hair slightly messy, one hand holding chopsticks and the other a cup of instant noodles. Steam rose lazily into the air like it was part of some dramatic reveal.
The man noticed him immediately and glanced over, completely unfazed.
Lu Chen(ml)
Oh. You must be the new roommate
Jiang Nan(mc)
💭(Brain short-circuited). Why is he shirtless? Why is he eating noodles? Why is he standing like this is a commercial?
Jiang Nan(mc)
I— (swallowed). Why aren’t you wearing clothes?
Lu Chen(ml)
(Raised an eyebrow, amused). I am. Just… less of them. (smirked slightly). Don’t mind me. I’m just warming the room
This was it. This was the beginning of the end
Without responding, Nan dragged his suitcase inside, mentally setting rules at lightning speed
Jiang Nan(mc)
💭Rule one: don’t look. Rule two: don’t talk. Rule three: don’t exist in the same space
The man watched him struggle with the suitcase, eyes full of quiet amusement.
Lu Chen(ml)
I’m Lu Chen, by the way
Jiang Nan(mc)
I'm Jiang Nan
He stepped fully inside just as the door behind him slammed shut with a loud bang. The sound echoed through the apartment, final and ominous.
Jiang Nan(mc)
💭(Flinched).
Great. Trapped. With that
Lu Chen(ml)
(Chuckled softly). Guess we’re living together now
Nan looked around the apartment, then at Lu Chen’s bare shoulders, then down at his own shaking hands.
Jiang Nan(mc)
…I should’ve read the contract twice (whispered)
Somewhere deep down, fate laughed
Chapter 2
Jiang Nan tried to unpack quietly.
Every time he turned around, Lu Chen was there.
Standing in the kitchen. Leaning against the hallway wall. Sitting on the couch like he owned the place. It was like living with a very handsome ghost who refused to haunt politely.
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Crouched beside his suitcase, yanking out clothes with unnecessary force). Just pretend he doesn’t exist (muttered)
One of Nan’s shirts slipped from his hand and fluttered to the floor. Before he could bend down, a hand reached for it first.
Lu Chen picked it up easily
Nan looked up just in time to see him holding the shirt, eyes scanning it briefly before he smiled
Lu Chen(ml)
You dress nicely.
Then—completely shameless—Lu Chen winked and walked away.
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Stared at the empty space, face heating up). That was… illegal (whispered)
Daniel(mc friend)
💬 So? Roommate reveal. Cute or dangerous?
Jiang Nan(mc)
💬Dangerous. Very dangerous.
Daniel(mc friend)
💬That’s not a no.
Nan slammed the phone face-down.
From the kitchen, Lu Chen’s voice floated over casually.
Lu Chen(ml)
You look tense
Lu Chen(ml)
Relax (added lightly). I bite only on request
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Shot to his feet). I am completely relaxed!
Lu Chen(ml)
(Peeked around the corner, clearly enjoying this). You’re unpacking like the suitcase personally offended you
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Grabbed another shirt, shoved it into the closet, and muttered), I’m leaving tomorrow
Lu Chen(ml)
(Smiled wider). Sure
That smile was the smile of someone who already knew the answer
Chapter 3
Jiang Nan escaped the apartment in the afternoon like a fugitive
A normal, calm, non-shirtless date.
Sitting at a café across from a gentle-looking guy, Nan finally relaxed. The atmosphere was warm, the music soft, and—most importantly—Lu Chen was not present.
male(extra)
This is nice (the guy said shyly)
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Smiled). Yeah. It really is
Then the bell above the café door rang.
a familiar voice called out, surprised and far too close.
Lu Chen stood there, holding a drink, eyebrows raised.
Lu Chen(ml)
Oh. Didn’t know you’d be here.
The guy across from Nan froze. His eyes darted between them.
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Turned slowly). Why, (asked through clenched teeth), are you here?
Lu Chen(ml)
(Leaned casually against the counter). Forgot something at home. Thought I’d grab a coffee
male(extra)
(The guy’s face turned red). I—I didn’t realize…
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Nearly choked). No. You misunderstand—
Lu Chen smiled innocently
male(extra)
(The guy stood up quickly). Sorry. I think I should go
And just like that, he was gone
Nan buried his face in his hands.
Lu Chen(ml)
(Tilted his head). Did I interrupt something?
Jiang Nan(mc)
(Looked up, eyes blazing). You ruined my date
Lu Chen(ml)
(Blinked). …Oh
Nan stood, heart pounding, anger mixing dangerously with something else he refused to name.
Jiang Nan(mc)
This isn’t over
Lu Chen watched him storm out, fingers tightening around his cup
For some reason… his chest felt oddly warm
They were shaking—not entirely from anger
