MY PARENTS LOVE STORY IS A DISASTER
TRAILER
The sound of shouting voices
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"They say you can’t choose your family. But what if you could choose who your parents became?"
[A divorce paper on a table. A wedding photo cracks.]
Sameer Khanna
"It's over, Rhea!"
Rhea Khanna
"It was over years ago!"
Aryan stands in a basement. A blue light explodes.
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"One chance. One trip. 20 years back."
[WHOOSH—Static—The sound of a cassette tape rewinding.]
A 1995 college campus. Students in bell-bottoms and denim.
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Looking at a skinny nerd in a sweater vest) "Wait... THAT is my father? Im literally going to disappear from existence.
Sameer
"Um, excuse me? Why are you staring at my inhaler?"
A heavy motorbike roars onto the screen. A girl removes her helmet, shaking out long hair. It’s Young Rhea.
Sameer
(Dropping his books) "She’s an angel..."
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"She’s a hurricane, Dad. And you’re a leaf. We need to turn you into a mountain."
Vikram, the rich rival, smirking while leaning against a red sports car.
Vikram
"Someone like Rhea doesn't look at losers like you, Sameer. Know your place."
Aryan teaching Sameer how to walk, talk, and dance.
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"Rule number one: Stop saying sorry every time you breathe!"
Rhea Desai
(Looking suspiciously at Aryan) "You... you look exactly like him. Who are you really?"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Sweating) "I'm... your biggest fan?"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"Operation: Make Mom fall for the Nerd... is officially a go."
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
Hope you help me fix this story
The Breaking Point
[The Present Day - The Khanna Mansion. A cold, modern living room where everything looks expensive but feels empty.]
In the world of architecture, they say a house needs a strong foundation to stand. In the world of Aryan Khanna, the foundation wasn’t just cracked—it was currently being demolished by a hurricane named Rhea and a volcano named Sameer.
[CRASH! A crystal vase, a gift from some forgotten anniversary, shatters against the marble fireplace.]
Rhea Khanna
Do you see this, Sameer? This vase has more personality than you’ve shown in the last ten years! I am tired of living in a museum with a ghost!
Sameer Khanna
(Raising his voice, a rare and terrifying sound) "A ghost? I’m a ghost because I’m tired, Rhea! I work eighteen hours a day to pay for this museum so you can spend your time complaining about how bored you are!"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Standing in the doorway, his hands trembling in his hoodie pockets) "Can you guys just... for one night... not do this? It’s 11:30 PM. My birthday starts in thirty minutes."
Both parents turned to look at him, but their eyes didn't soften. The resentment was too thick, a poisonous fog that had settled over the family years ago.
Rhea Khanna
"Happy Birthday, Aryan. Here’s your gift: the realization that love is a scam sold by greeting card companies. Go to bed."
Sameer Khanna
"Don't talk to him like that, Rhea. Don't poison him just because you’re bitter."
Rhea Khanna
"Bitter? I was a firecracker before I met you! You extinguished me, Sameer. You turned me into this... this shadow!"
[Aryan doesn't wait for the next insult. He turns and runs. He doesn't go to his room. He heads for the one place that still feels like it belongs to someone who cared: his late grandfather’s basement workshop.]
The Basement. It’s filled with old vacuum tubes, dusty chalkboards, and the smell of ozone and old paper.
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Wiping tears from his eyes as he kicks a pile of old newspapers) "Why did they even get married? If they hate each other this much, why did they bother having me?"
He slumped against a heavy, tarp-covered object in the corner. His hand brushed against a cold, metallic surface. Curious, he pulled the tarp away.
[Revealed is a machine that looks like a cross between a 1980s arcade cabinet and a high-tech surgical station. In the center, a brass-rimmed clock face hums with a faint, violet light.]
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"The Rewind Engine. Grandad’s 'Great Failure.' He always said it lacked the 'Emotional Magnetism' to lock onto a target date."
[Aryan looks at a framed photo on the workbench. It’s his parents on their wedding day. They look... different. Sameer is smiling, eyes bright behind his glasses. Rhea is laughing, leaning her head on his shoulder. They look like they would die for each other.]
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"What happened to these people? Where did they go?"
A loud thud from upstairs, followed by the muffled sound of his mother sobbing and his father slamming a door.
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"I can’t stay here. If the future is this dark, maybe the past has some light left."
Driven by a mix of teenage rage and desperate hope, Aryan grabbed a thick power cable and slammed it into the wall socket. The basement lights flickered. The machine groaned like a waking giant.
[He types into the glowing green terminal: JULY 15, 1995 – ST. JUDE’S COLLEGE CAMPUS.]
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"If I can find the moment it all went wrong... maybe I can fix it. Or maybe I’ll just make sure they never meet at all. Either way, this ends tonight."
[The machine begins to vibrate. A vortex of blue and violet sparks begins to swirl around Aryan. The air feels heavy, like the pressure before a massive thunderstorm.]
Sameer Khanna
(From the top of the stairs): "Aryan? What are you doing down there? The power is surging—"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"See you in the nineties, Dad. Try not to be such a loser this time!"
[A deafening BOOM! A flash of white light swallows the room. The smell of jasmine and gasoline suddenly replaces the smell of dust.]
The cold marble of the 2025 mansion vanished. Underneath Aryan’s sneakers, the ground turned into sun-warmed asphalt. The sound of his parents' fighting was replaced by a far-off, tinny sound... someone was playing a cassette tape of a 90s dance hit.
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Opening his eyes, shielding them from the bright sun) "Whoa. My head..."
[Aryan is standing in the middle of a bustling college quad. A girl in high-waisted jeans skates past him. A guy with a Walkman stares at his futuristic hoodie.]
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"It actually worked. I’m in the Stone Age."
[A heavy shadow falls over him. A voice, familiar yet much higher and shakier than he remembers, speaks up.]
???: "Hey! Hey, you! You’re standing on my physics notes!"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Looking down at a skinny boy with taped glasses and a sweater vest) "Dad?"
Chapter 2: The Queen of the Streets
[St. Jude’s College Campus - 2000. The sun is golden, the air is thick with the smell of canteen samosas, and the fashion is a chaotic mix of oversized flannels and denim.]
Being transported twenty years into the past is a lot like waking up in a movie with no script. For Aryan, the high-definition world of 2025 had been replaced by a grainy, vibrant reality where the internet didn't exist, and phones were stuck to walls by curly cords.
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Staring at Young Sameer) "I can't believe it. You’re actually... small. And you have so much hair. What happened to the bald spot?"
Sameer
(Clutching his books to his chest like a shield) "Bald spot? I’m nineteen! And who are you? You’re wearing a hoodie with a glowing logo and shoes that look like they belong on a spaceship.
Sameer
"Are you a foreigner? An exchange student?"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"Something like that. Call me Leo. I’m your... long-lost cousin. From the far side of the family. Very far."
Sameer
"I didnt know i had a cousin named Leo. But then again, my mother doesnt tell me much. She says talking distracts me from my equations."
Sameer
Anyway, Cousin, you’re standing in the middle of the 'Danger Zone.' You should move."
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"Danger Zone? What, is there a gas leak?"
Sameer
"Worse. It’s 12:00 PM. That means she is coming."
[The distant, rhythmic thumping of a heavy engine. It grows louder- a deep, guttural roar that vibrates in the pavement.]
The chatter of the students died down. Heads turned toward the main gates. A red-and-chrome Royal Enfield Bullet soared through the entrance, weaving between groups of students with terrifying precision.
[The rider is wearing a black leather vest over a white tank top, torn jeans, and aviator sunglasses. She skids the bike to a halt right in front of the canteen, kicking up a cloud of dust that makes Sameer cough.]
Sameer
(Whispering, his eyes wide behind his thick lenses) "Rhea. The Hurricane of St. Jude’s."
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(To himself) "Mom? No way..."
Young Rhea pulled off her helmet, letting a cascade of thick, dark hair fall over her shoulders. She didn't look like the tired, shouting woman Aryan had left in the future. She looked electric. She looked like she owned every molecule of oxygen on that campus.
Rhea Desai
(Loudly, to a group of boys blocking the canteen stairs) "Move it, boys. My bike has a kickstand, and I’m not afraid to use it on someone’s foot if they’re in my way."
[The boys scramble away. Rhea strides past them, her boots clicking sharply on the stone.]
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Elbowing Sameer) "She’s incredible. Go talk to her."
Sameer
(Turning pale) "Talk to her? Leo, look at me. I’m a human calculator. She’s a...
Sameer
She’s a force of nature. Last week, a senior tried to whistle at her, and she chained his bicycle to the top of the flag pole. I value my life."
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
"Dad—I mean, Sameer. If you don't talk to her, someone else will. Look."
A red sports car screeches to a stop near Rhea’s bike. Out steps Vikram—wearing a silk shirt unbuttoned halfway down, his hair gelled into a perfect wave.
Vikram
"Rhea! Darling! I got the front-row tickets for the concert tonight. My dad’s driver can pick you up at seven. Don't be late."
Rhea Desai
(Not even turning around) "Save the tickets for someone who cares, Vikram. I’d rather watch paint dry than sit in a car with you for two hours."
Vikram
(Smirking, unfazed) "You’ll come around. Everyone does."
Vikram’s eyes scanned the crowd until they landed on Sameer, who was trying to hide behind Aryan. Vikram’s smirk turned into a sneer.
Vikram
"Hey, Four-Eyes! Didn't I tell you to stay away from the canteen? Your 'nerd energy' is ruining the vibe. Go back to the lab and sniff some chemicals."
Sameer
(Stuttering) "I-I was just leaving, Vikram. Sorry. I didn't mean to... to exist near you."
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Grabbing Sameer’s arm before he can run) "Hold on. We aren't going anywhere."
Sameer
"Leo, what are you doing? He’ll crush us!"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Stepping forward, facing Vikram) "Actually, my 'cousin' was just about to tell you that this is a public space. And also, that shirt? The 70s called, they want their curtains back."
[The entire quad goes silent. Rhea stops at the top of the stairs, looking back with a raised eyebrow.]
Vikram
(Walking up to Aryan, towering over him) "What did you just say to me, kid?"
Aryan Khanna/ Leo
(Smirking) "I said... watch the shoes. They’re from the future. You couldn't afford them."
