Reforming the Villains: The Dead Brother Returns
1
Taehyung died at the age of eighteen.
His brakes had inexplicably failed on the overpass. To avoid crashing into innocent pedestrians, he had yanked the steering wheel hard, sending the car smashing through the guardrail and plunging into the icy depths of the river.
As the freezing water engulfed him, Taehyung had a vision.
He realized his world was a novel—and his three younger brothers were all destined to be villains.
The second brother, was a ruthless Alpha CEO who wore Buddhist prayer beads, obsessed with the story’s protagonist, Jennie, and constantly opposing the Alpha lead, ultimately leading to his own ruin.
The third brother was a controversial, blacklisted celebrity who bullied the award-winning actor, the male lead on variety shows, only to succumb to cyberbullying and depression, ending his own life.
The fourth brother was a school delinquent who skipped classes to pick fights, hospitalized the male lead’s academically gifted younger brother, and eventually landed in prison.
And Taehyung? He was nothing more than the hero’s "White Moonlight"—the tragic Omega high school sweetheart whose early death served only to cause misunderstandings between the main couple.
After learning all this, Taehyung was so furious he came back to life.
When he opened his eyes, he was standing in front of a massive shopping mall
Only then did Taehyung realize—
𝘼 𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙗𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙: "2025—𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙣𝙖𝙠𝙚, 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙚!"
Kim Taehyung
(I have been reborn, but has jumped eleven years into the future, right into the climax of the novel’s plot.)
Taehyung hurried into the mall restroom and checked his reflection. The boy in the mirror still had the same strikingly handsome, delicate face—the ethereal beauty of a rare Omega—wearing the same sleek black outfit he’d put on for his ill-fated date.
Taehyung’s emotions were a tangled mess
Kim Taehyung
(Eleven years have passed, yet I'm still eighteen!)
No money, no phone nothing
Kim Taehyung
(Truly the Year of the Snake; I’d barely arrived and already feel suffocated, as if constricted by a python!)
He turned on the faucet, letting cold water run over his fingers. One of his greatest strengths was his resilience. When his parents died, leaving him to raise three brothers—the youngest just a toddler—he’d adapted.
Kim Taehyung
(I would adapt now too.)
As he dried his hands, two salesgirls—an Omega and a Beta—entered, chatting animatedly.
Irrelevant people
"Did you hear? The mall’s closing in half an hour—they’re already clearing out customers!"
Irrelevant people
"Yeah, yeah! Rumor is the CEO’s coming to reserve the whole place!"
Taehyung’s ears perked up at the juicy gossip
Kim Taehyung
(A thriving mall, abruptly kicking everyone out? Classic novel logic—CEOs here are nothing if not extravagantly irrational!)
Irrelevant people
"It’s definitely for Jennie! The CEO doesn’t want her bothered by crowds. I even saw on social media that he invested in a movie for her!"
Irrelevant people
"So romantic! Bet Actor Lee regrets it now. Their on-screen chemistry was fire—can’t wait for the ‘groveling ex’ arc!"
Their chatter made Taehyung frown.
Kim Taehyung
(Jennie—the novel’s omega lead. And "Actor Lee"? That had to be the Alpha lead, Lee Bogum.)
Kim Taehyung
(Which means this brainless CEO is none other than my dear second brother!)
He’d planned to track him down first anyway. Now, fate had delivered him right to the door. Though right now, he really wanted to buy something—on credit, if necessary
He turned to the still-gossiping salesgirls
Kim Taehyung
"Excuse me, does this mall have a Seven Wolves store?"
Seven wolves store - men's clothing brand
Startled, the two finally noticed the strikingly handsome young omega nearby—his sharp features more captivating than many celebrities. One salesgirl, a self-proclaimed beauty enthusiast, gaped momentarily.
The other replied helpfully
Irrelevant people
"Yes, on the second floor. Shopping for your dad?"
Kim Taehyung
**smile
"No. Shopping for a whip."
This mall was clearly high-end, bustling with midday shoppers. Forcing everyone out would mean massive losses
Kim Taehyung
(not just financially, but in customer trust. Who’d return after being kicked out mid-lunch?)
Kim Taehyung
(No wonder my second brother faced ruin in the novel. With business sense like this, bankruptcy is inevitable!)
When he’d died at eighteen, his second brother was only fifteen—a bright middle-schooler with a knack for business. Back then, he’d flipped gaming consoles for profit, buying Taehyung a designer bag with his earnings. Their parents had owned a real estate empire; this mall being his wasn’t surprising.
Kim Taehyung
(What was surprising is how he’d apparently let zombies eat his brains!)
As Taehyung stroded out under the salesgirls’ bewildered stares, a security guard approached
Irrelevant people
"Sir, apologies, but the mall’s closing. Please exit promptly."
Kim Taehyung
"I need to speak with your manager. Could you connect me?"
**politely
With the CEO arriving, the manager would surely be available. Though puzzled, the guard called Manager Zhao, who answered promptly:
Manager Zhao
"What is it? "

Irrelevant people
"There's a young omega looking for you on the first floor. Not sure what it's about."
Manager Zhao
"I don't have time to deal with it today. Tell him to come back tomorrow."
Irrelevant people
"The manager says he's too busy to see you."
Kim Taehyung
"Give me your phone. I'll talk to him myself."
Manager Zhao was busy chatting with an Alpha seated in the office chair—a commanding figure dressed in a sleek black suit, idly spinning Buddhist prayer beads in his hand. Just as he was about to hang up, a pleasant yet irritated male voice came through the phone.
Kim Taehyung
"Manager, hello. Are you with Min Yoongi right now? Put him on the phone!"
**politely
Manager Zhao
(Who is this? He is polite to me, but he actually dares to address the CEO by his full name! Is he one of Ceo Min Yoongi’s admirers?)
The CEO was young, handsome, and filthy rich—not to mention famously known as the "Buddha of Capital's Elite Circle." Plenty of people chased after him. But since this involved the CEO, Manager Zhao didn’t dare make a decision on his own.
Manager Zhao
**muted the call and asked respectfully
Manager Zhao
"Mr. Min, there’s an omega on the first floor demanding to speak with you. Should I put him through?"
He expected the CEO to refuse outright, but to his surprise, Min Yoongi reached for the phone without hesitation. Manager Zhao unmuted the call and carefully handed his phone over.
Min Yoongi took it, his tone clipped
Min Yoongi
"Who are you? What do you want?"
Kim Taehyung
"I’m your brother! I—"
Min Yoongi
**eyes instantly frosted over
"Get lost."
The temperature in the office seemed to drop five degrees. Manager Zhao’s hair stood on end as he took back the phone and quickly texted security.
Manager Zhao
[Get rid of this omega immediately!]
The Alpha in the chair was strikingly handsome, his black suit accentuating his icy, unapproachable aura. Manager Zhao swallowed hard but forced himself to speak
Manager Zhao
"Mr. Min, please don’t be upset. I’ve already instructed security to handle it."
He hadn’t heard the exact words exchanged, but it was clearly another person shamelessly chasing after the CEO. Everyone knew Min Yoongi was smitten with Jennie—the dazzling A-list actress.
Manager Zhao
(These people need to take a hard look at themselves. Pathetic!)
Min Yoongi couldn’t believe someone had the audacity to impersonate his brother. He flicked the prayer beads in his hand, suppressing the fury simmering beneath his calm exterior. His long, elegant fingers picked up his own phone. He opened the pinned chat and sent a message.
Min Yoongi
[We’re clearing the area now. Let me know when you’re close, and I’ll come down to meet you.]
The last message to Jennie—where he’d asked if she’d left yet—had gone unanswered. But she’d been busy promoting her latest film. Now that she finally had some downtime, it made sense that she was slower to reply.
Seeing the usually cold and ruthless CEO soften slightly, Manager Zhao knew he must be texting Jennie
Manager Zhao
"Mr. Min, I watched Ms. Jennie’s new movie—it was incredible! I’ve already taken my family to see it three, four times!"
Min Yoongi glanced up, the faintest hint of a smile on his otherwise indifferent face.
Manager Zhao
**nods eagerly
"Absolutely! I’m planning to rally all the mall staff to go see such a masterpiece!"
Min Yoongi’s expression warmed further. He took a sip of tea
Min Yoongi
"Fine. The company will cover the expenses."
Manager Zhao grinned like a blooming chrysanthemum and promptly refilled the CEO’s cup. Starlight Plaza was one of over a hundred malls under Starlight Group. This was a rare chance to meet the CEO in person, and Manager Zhao was determined to score enough brownie points for a promotion.
Meanwhile, Assistant Jimin, standing off to the side, massaged his temples at the sight of his boss acting like a lovesick fool. They’d abandoned an important meeting halfway through—
Assistant Jimin
(all because Jennie mentioned she want to go shopping for clothes.)
Assistant Jimin
(She could’ve waited until the mall was cleared, but no, the CEO had to rush over and wait like an eager puppy!)
Jimin’s phone was blowing up with messages about the postponed meeting. But with this bootlicker around, he couldn’t even bring up work matters. This job was doing terrible things to his stress levels.
Manager Zhao
**beams
"Mr. Min, about the brand Ms. Jennie endorses—"
Assistant Jimin
"Manager Zhao,"
**cut in sharply
Assistant Jimin
"why don’t you go supervise the clearance process?"
Manager Zhao
**shot him an annoyed look
"Assistant Jimin, rest assured, everything is under control!"
Min Yoongi flicked a prayer bead and gave his assistant a cold glance before nodding at Manager Zhao
Assistant Jimin
**nearly choked
Assistant Jimin
(The words "Ms. Jennie" seems to trigger some kind of brain-melting effect on the CEO!)
Manager Zhao
(How has this omega even become an assistant? No tact at all—and an omega, no less!)
Manager Zhao
"The brand Ms. Jennie endorses has been performing exceptionally well in our—"
Before he could finish, the office door creaked open. All three looked up.
A young omega who appeared to be around eighteen stood in the doorway, a security guard hurrying after him.
Manager Zhao
**face darkened
"Who let you in? Get out! Security, hurry up and remove him!"
Jimin remained silent, noticing there was something familiar about the young omega's face. Min Yoongi didn't speak either—his mind went blank, freezing him in place.
Then the young omega stomped over, grabbed Yoongi's ear, and snapped
Kim Taehyung
"Min Yoongi, you’ve got some nerve!"
**pulling his ear

The manager’s office in the mall was spacious, yet the air felt strangely thin at that moment
Min Yoongi found it hard to breathe, staring in shock at the young man who had just yanked his ear. The boy was strikingly handsome, with peach-blossom eyes—round at the inner corners, shimmering brilliantly when he smiled. But when angered, those same eyes seemed to spit fire, a sight that instinctively terrified him every time. Like right now.
Yet, his fear was momentarily overshadowed by disbelief. He couldn’t believe what was happening before him.
Manager Zhao, too, was struggling to catch his breath, his eyes bulging like copper bells.
Manager Zhao
(This omega has some nerve! Daring to pull the CEO’s ear! Who does he think he is?!)
Manager Zhao
"Let go of our CEO!
**shouts, reaching out to forcefully drag Taehyung away
But before his hand could make contact, another palm intercepted it, and an icy voice sounded from above.
Manager Zhao
**looked up in disbelief, pointing at himself
"Get out? Me?"
Assistant Jimin
**nearly laughed out loud, pulling him away
Assistant Jimin
"Who else? Let’s go!"
Jimin knew the CEO needed to speak with this young man alone. If he wasn’t mistaken, this boy was the CEO’s older brother.
Jimin had interned at the company during his junior year, starting as a regular assistant and rising to become a capable executive assistant over four years. Once, when the CEO was drunk, Jimin had escorted him home. Pointing at a photo on the bedside table, his eyes reddened, Yoongi had said,
Min Yoongi
"This is my hyung. Handsome, isn’t he? But he passed away a long time ago."
So the current situation was beyond bizarre, but Jimin knew better than to ask questions.
The security guard, who had just arrived panting, was stunned
Irrelevant people
(Why is the manager the one being kicked out? This is madness!)
The office door slammed shut, and the pain in his ear was unmistakable.
Min Yoongi’s eyes gradually reddened, his voice choked with emotion
His brother, who had been dead for eleven years, had suddenly reappeared.
Min Yoongi
(Is this real?)
His voice had sounded familiar earlier, but he hadn’t dwelled on it.
Min Yoongi
(Who would believe someone dead for over a decade could come back to life?)
Taehyung released Yoongi’s ear and plopped down onto the executive chair, immediately bossing his little brother around.
Kim Taehyung
"Get me some water! I’m exhausted from running!"
After Yoongi had hung up on him, Taehyung had no choice but to search floor by floor while the guard chased after him. His stamina proved superior, and he eventually found the top-floor office.
Min Yoongi, the ruthless and untouchable "Buddha of the elite circle," who commanded fear and respect in the outside world, obeyed Taehyung’s order almost instinctively, immediately fetching him a glass of water.
Their different surnames came from Taehyung taking their mother’s last name, but they were full-blooded siblings. Seeing the sweat on his forehead, Yoongi subconsciously picked up a document from the desk and began fanning him—despite the office being air-conditioned.
Kim Taehyung
**gulps down the water and set the glass aside
Kim Taehyung
"Oh, and call off the mall shutdown immediately! Keep it open for business!"
Yoongi’s usually cold eyes glistened with tears
Min Yoongi
"Hyung… is it really you?"
Kim Taehyung
**slaps him without hesitation
Kim Taehyung
"Just do what I said!"
The stinging slap confirmed it—
Min Yoongi
(this is definitely my brother. My hyung is back! He isn't dead!)
His mind was flooded with overwhelming excitement. He stood up, walked to the door, and addressed Manager Zhao outside
Min Yoongi
"Cancel the shutdown. Resume operations."
Before Manager Zhao could get a clear look at Yoongi’s face, the door closed again.
Blinking, he turned to Jimin.
Manager Zhao
"Jimin, did I just see… the CEO’s eyes were red?"
Assistant Jimin
"You saw wrong. Now hurry up and call off the shutdown!"
Min Yoongi
"Hyung… you’re saying you time-traveled from eleven years ago?"
Yoongi asked in amazement, still fanning Taehyung. The black Buddhist beads on his slender but strong wrist swayed gently.
Taehyung knew this would be hard to hide.
Kim Taehyung
"Yeah. Didn’t you notice I’m wearing the same clothes from that day?"
Yoongi studied him for a moment, his gaze dimming
Min Yoongi
"Right… this was the suit you wore for your date with Lee Bogum."
He would never forget that day. It was Lee Bogum who had invited him out—the drive that led to the accident. That was why Yoongi had resented Lee Bogum all these years.
